SoundCheck

Do people seem to mumble more than they used to? Do you find yourself asking for things to be repeated? Do you have trouble understanding a conversation in noisy or crowded areas like a restaurant?
You are not alone; over 36 million Americans have some degree of hearing loss, ranging from mild to severe. Some of the first clues that you may be experiencing a hearing loss are when you notice difficulty in noise, or it seems like people are mumbling when they talk. Contrary to popular belief, hearing loss does not just affect the elderly. In fact, the majority of people with hearing loss are younger than the age of 65.

SoundCheck is a hearing screener / sound level meter application created by Starkey Hearing Technologies that allows you measure environmental noise levels and to quickly evaluate your own hearing to determine if it is within a normal range, or if you have potential hearing loss.

• Screening results are displayed in an easy-to-understand format as well as offering an option to obtain more detailed view to show results for specific areas of your hearing.
• Screening results are can be saved to track changes over time or for you to discuss further with a qualified hearing professional.
• Noise Check can measure environmental noise levels and includes information about common sound levels.

SoundCheck is a fun and convenient way to evaluate your own hearing and the hearing of your family and friends.

SoundCheck is designed to be as accurate as possible given a reliable set of headphones and Android version 4.0 or greater. For the Noise Check feature the accuracy is dependent on the phone hardware. Some phones may not register above an 85
- 90 dB level.

Doesn't check hearing beyond 4khz. You cannot decide which tones to do first. Is set on a predetermined sequence that cannot be corrected as you go if you think you messed up. There are far better apps for this.

My son had severe ear infections and the doctor said he might experience hearing loss until it clears completely up. This was a great app to check his hearing, I was so worried if it caused permanent hearing loss.

Does not ask for personal info! Use decent ear buds for isolation in an extremely quiet room for best results. Alleviated fear of high frequency hearing loss. I feel MUCH better.

Really!? A or C weighted for db levels?

Galaxy note 2, works fine, doesn't ask for anything personal. Decibels are slightly affected by moving the phone around, you'd probably get a more accurate reading from putting it down. Sound test is functional with ear buds.

No report unless you provide personal information. Want to sell you stuff. Annoying, uninstalled.

I have been suspicious of my hearing loss for some time now and this has prompted me to go to a Dr! I did multiple tests with the same results and I also had other people do this exact test, they passed without any issues!

Always says the decibel level is 50. Didn't try the hearing test portion.

Two problems with this. First is, it told me I had normal hearing, which I haven't. I know I have reduced hearing in one ear due to ETD. Secondly, to receive a detailed report, I'm asked to provide me details, which makes it just look like a phishing scam. Uninstalled.

After the new update the app works great on my Samsung Galaxy S4! Really helps check my hearing and easy to use.

The app keeps restarting in the middle of the left ear. Completely useless because I can't compete the test to tell if I have any potential hearing loss.

Works as expected.
