Soundstorm for Hue

I took a year off and then came back. This app is more disappointing than before. Reaction time is terrible, themes do not match up to music not sure why I thought this would be the real time light show that it was advertised as and why I paid for it Edit: not seeking a refund. Seeking an app that does what I was expecting. A light show to the music

Does successfully control my lights. Two main issues though. First, didn't detect the Hue Bridge on my network without manually entering the IP; I haven't had this problem with any other app. Second, I don't think the music visualizer is actually listening to the music. The lights change rhythmically but not in time with the music, it seems like it a constant tempo. I compared this to the Hue Disco app and the latter does vary the lights based on the temp.

if I can give 1000 stars I will! love it! great app! works amazing! 5 bulbs so far. turns your place to bloody night club! love light separation for different frequencies. just will install in on other phone and will use my main one! would be great to have functionality with headphones, but understand technical limitations. whatever! it's great! as a feedback- maybe worth trying neural networks approach to remove voices, noise etc, for better experiences, but it will come, I belive).

Edit: Developer kind enough to reach out and offer a refund to me. I find the app hard to use/figure out, and it doesn't seem to respond to sound even though I have provided microphone privileges. I tried tweaking the settings to improve the responsiveness, but it is still not satisfactory.

Great app for the Hues lights. You can manually change the settings to fit any type of scene. Only want the lights to pulse, strobe or change on the bass? You can do that. Lot of themes already configured and a lot of options. Best 3 bucks I've spent on Google in a long time!

Better than Hue Disco. Perhaps not as easy to use. But it does work and you can use it. The interface is straight forward, not fancy. Connecting to the bridge went as expected, press the button and it connected.

Didn't offer much. Interesting app but not worth the asking price. I was able to install go through all the settings ( most of which are default on the hue app ) and try the music setting ( which in fact didn't matter if music was playing or not the lights changed ) and the strobe isnt all at once it's each light in sequence . I can see this app being alot better in the future.

WOW! The app of apps for Phillip's Hue bulbs. Just love this. So easy and enjoyable. I have many Hue bulbs and now once set to 'Rainbow' colour option and 'colour flow' my lights 'set up in a new group on the app' double as Xmas lights fading in and out with configurable brightness and delays and timers etc. Also many other features/modes and effects have yet to play with. Thanks.

It just works. Don't need complicated settings for these effects! Whether I'm tired, I'm happy, I'm sad, I'm learning or I'm growing. Lights dance to the music colors chosen by me. So relaxing. Very easy to use. Great price for ALL features. Good job dev. Thank you!

Please add an option for the internal mic to change the lights. This app is just a hair away from being the best Philips Hue app for syncing with music. I've downloaded many similar apps and none have even close tf customization as this, but the ONE thing I mis

I was really excited about purchasing this but it was an let down at the end. The Light function with music doesnt flash in sync to the music. I'm still trying to understand how it work. At the end, I dont use as I once intended

I wanted an app that allows me to do the following: Strobe lights Colour loops Music attaching colours It did just that and that's what I wanted. The music attaching colours only work on the room's audio.. I have to figure out if it can connect to something like Spotify

Excellent app and colour combos. I would recommend getting more than one hue light because the different combos are awesome. This is the app you want if you want your lights to sync to the music. I can use my bose speaker and it works perfectly.

I was skeptical about this app and also thought the novelty would wear off, but it works brilliantly and I can turn my home into a stunning light show! I was so impressed I bought both the Thunderstorm and fire apps too. Outstanding!

Love this app, but the lights keep stopping. I have the auto-stop set to off. I think it has to do with incoming to the phone. Could you please make a Kindle Fire version, which has no phone. This version will not sideload onto Kindle. Then 5* and I will buy the addons. Thanks.

I love the concept but I am not certain the app is really using the microphone to sync the music with the lights. Even if the music is paused in a quiet room the lights still randomly flash to an invisible beat...

I have been waiting so long for this app! I've tried others and they're just a pain, not user friendly at all. This has a brilliant, clear interface. Two clicks and I had the lights synced to music. Brilliant, totally worth the price.

Seems to turn off unless you keep the phone open and the microphone music sync mode kinda feels like it isn't really listening to music... Just randomly switching lights on..it's okay but not doing what I expect.

UPDATE: changing to 5 stars. Thank you for the tip, Scott. This app works! Original: Good app for syncing lights to music playing on your phone. I wish this worked with Google Home speakers.

Just installed it and it works, does everything you'd expect, easy to navigate. Only found it as it's listed on the Hue App. Good work Devs!

Extremely easy to set up - the app found my Hue Bridge immediately. Within seconds my daughter had all the house lights twinkling! Very clever, very simple.

Its sn awesome app with great functions But you must have the latest Bridge's in order to take advantage of this lightning Storm from Soundstorm!. I loved the app. I just don't have the updated equipment to utilize this app :(

I guess I'll just wait to get the hue bridge....stupid the Bluetooth doesn't connect to the app on your phone instead you need to get it hooked up manually with wires everywhere

Amazing app! Was look for awhile for music since etc and this app over delivered with its options and quality. 100% recommend if you're unsure what to purchase.

Horrible I loved it when I first used it. Then it can time to make it stop I've been trying this for 3 days now. I must be a complete idiot. I cleared app,nothing forsed stopped,that was a joke now I'm gonna uninstall it.

Doesnt work as an actual visualizer. Just kinda pulses but not to the music.

Two words bloody amazing especially the music visualizer got the treble mid range and bass set to 3 different lights 👌

Initially downloaded another app sponcered by Hue but returned immediately. This app is significantly better with fantastic ease of use.

Great app it'd be nice though to be able to connect the app to google home so the group you name comes on when you ask google assistant example "okay google turn on disco"
