As someone with the linux kernel as his code base I can say that the services this app provides are by far the best I've seen on android, I use it on the bus on my way to and from work, and I gotta say, the features it provides are quite good. Files get loaded pretty fast so I'm not too upset about the whole file-not-remaining-cached while you switch to a different tab thing, it would be nice to be able to bookmark specific points in a file so you can easily switch between files. The themes are really great, makes reading the code a breeze. I realize how difficult it must be to create an application like this, and while there's always room for improvement, I think it does its job quite well. So 5/5 stars from me. I wish the developers all my best.

Use it for viewing Linux kernel source code. The syntax highlighting for .c (C language), .S (assembler) files is very bad, much worse than syntax highlight in vim on my desktop. Hope it will be corrected. Maybe it would be better give to user ability to manually change what language to use for highlighting, for example .h file may be C and may be C++ as well.

I am a retired university lecturer and software engineer and program now mostly in Python and Perl. Unlike the editors for Android, this viewer is very fast even with pretty large files. It is highly recommended.

I was super excited when I saw the visual studio theme until I saw it was the light theme. PLEASE add the dark theme and Google Drive support. Other than that I love how smooth it it.

Fast scrolling, great file handling, excellent zoom in/out feature, syntax themes. Crashes a lot recently. Please fix those issues. EDIT: app has been completely abandoned, still great for what it currently does

Did not reply after uninstalled Amazon & stopped working. Bought again. Abandoned app. QuickEdit pro (also free version) is best android txt editor anyway & regularly updated UNLIKE this abandoned app.

Very good file selector. Like that I can zoom in the text. Syntax highlighting for typescript is very broken. Good for quickly browsing a project while on the go.

Sadly not everything is UTF-8. And plain text display without formatting should be possible for opening READMEs.

Perfect for reading source code. Easier and faster way of browsing files. You can add more themes

----missing hilites ---landscape doesnt fullscreen (sidebar still visible) ---no way to make annotation (i understand its not an editor but what is the point of viewing if you cant make any notes? even pdf viewers you can do this) --should be able to customize colors ---really more like a 3-3.5 star app, but the variety of languages and nothing else quite like it justifies rounding ----for 5 stars: fix syntax hilighting and horizontal fullscreen ---6 stars: bookmark, annotation, file/clas structure view

Pretty much the best source code viewer out there, however it would be even better if it was possible to add custom themes and font-families.

Need UPDATE

The app is pretty useful and has great highlighting. Full screen mode is especially nice... Only a few things would make this app better, such as allowing the directory side bar to hide even when in landscape mode (I'm on nexus 7 v2) otherwise beautiful app. If I could load up different fonts that would be cool too, but I'm just pedantic like that. also the ability to gain superuser rights would be super awesome ;)

The screen shots imply this has a tagging system like cscope/ctags/global, but it doesn't, its just a syntax highlighter. Doesn't register for text edit intent so you have to browse manually, you can't open a file from another app like file manager or SGit. No Solarized theme, tho Obsidian and Zenburn are nice. Just buy DroidEdit instead. Refunding.

Most impressive app for programmers who want to have a language/context awasre code viewer, thx for not asking for any permissions!

I know VHDL isn't common but it doesn't get highlighted properly and there isn't an option to adjust the syntax semantics (e.g., wordfiles a-la Ultraedit) or failing that, sone way to just turn off syntax highlighting (which would be better than a poor rendering).

How about a line wrap?
