Spaces - Find & Do with Google

Not sure why I was able to install this since it was apparently discontinued YEARS AGO. It just keeps crashing now.

So sad that it was discontinued. It was extremely useful, but very typical of Google to kill useful stuff and then do develop a new messaging platform or two...

This service was discontinued by you Google years ago. How come you still make the app available in your store? So much stupidity when you have so many smart engineers... How is that possible?

I like the app and the service, it needed a few kinks such as easier invites and managing friends to smoothly invite them to multiple spaces. Google+ intelligent integration would be great too... But all that is moot because after winning over friends to the service, Google pulls another one on us and decides to close it, I can no longer access my spaces and it's not even April 17 yet. Google living up to its incoherent messaging strategy... At this point I can't trust Google when it comes to be product and sadly understand Apple users... Maybe stopping treating users like beta testers would...uurgh

Google, please stop introducing apps and then removing them. I have found Spaces to be one of the best apps for sharing within inner circles and family. Just when I finally get some friends and family on-board (who also love it) I open the app only to see it will discontinued on April 17th. There are over 1 million downloads for the app on the Play Store itself. If an app is a proof of concept you want the public to try, then please state it when it's released. This way your users will not become attached to it or change a workflow to use it. Care to share why you are discontinuing the app? I gave the App 5 stars because the App deserves it, along with the dev team and the Googler who came up with the idea. It is just very frustrating finding a great app, get friends and family to start using it, and then it is being discontinued out of the blue. Since I don't see the Spaces app in the Play Store the only people that can read this is you Google and other app users. I don't believe this app is getting the credit it deserves. Over 1 million downloads and a 4.3 app rating spanning over 24,000 reviews. Why is it being discontinued again?

I really like this app and the potential it has. There are several things, however, that hold it back from being 5 stars. When adding an image link it should show 90% image and 10% url info. Not 50/50. When linking YouTube videos, the video should open in the YouTube app. The YouTube functionality within the Spaces app is extremely limited and slightly obnoxious. Lastly, each "space" should be allowed to be organized how ever the user wants. Kind of like the app "Photo Grid". Overall good though.

I absolutely loved this app. We used it for family sharing as several family members do not use typical social media outlets. We were all very disappointed that Google was no longer updating the app and that it would be unusable. We switched to BAND, and while its a pretty great app, also, it still not quite as good a fit as Spaces was.

The latest version displays the message that cannot be closed. Thus preventing users from accessing the existing data. Also, Retiring product and not providing automated export is just not cool. For others : you can still access your data through the web interface

Excellent service and the app itself was perfect in every way. Now it's gone. Very disappointing. For those looking to retrieve info, keep looking in the learn more and look for 'Manage Spaces' option and choose 'Computer'. You can log in to the desktop version and see your Spaces. There's no export option, so you need to save links one by one, but at least you can see the info. Shame on Google to take this away from over 1,000,000 people. That's a lot of people who did think this was a good tool!

The best app for families and individuals to collect ideas. Work on birthday present ideas, collect info for home improvement and school projects, plan a vacation. Sadly, I can no longer log in to get to the info I saved. Just lost a lot. Will miss this app.

Google, I love this app, I love spaces. My friends and I use it to keep logs of new music every month and I open it almost every day. Disappointed that you are discontinuing it and also that you have now rendered the app unusable. Can't get past the 'learn more' dialog... Don't shut it down.

App is now crashing. Latest update that was supposed to fix crashed has rendered app unusable. Please continue support for this app; DON'T RETIRE SPACES. It's a fun app!

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was the most useful app on my phone (and I have a ton of apps). The easiest content-sharing anything out there. Can't believe Google has decided to do away with it. Spaces was never advertised, so not many knew about it, but the ones who did love it. That being said, per the obnoxious pop-up, we should be able to retrieve our information until it goes away, however I have not been able to even open it since the pop-up. Now it just lets me click 'Learn More', takes me to the uninformative blurb on the website and nothing else. I want my content back. Well, really I just wish you would reconsider but barring that, I want my content back.

I liked this app very much, but didn't like Google's policies.Google is shutting it down maybe just because Google don't want people of world to discuss and think wisely. There is no transperancy in it. Under 'learn more' option they should have stated why they are shutting it down. They just want people to be busy in unwanted , unnecessary things which help them in becoming the world technology dictator in coming years!

I use this app a lot, but now Google starts to stop the updates n all the programs. I cant just no longer use it. Too bad Google. Just too bad.

Please let us inside before shutting this down, I need to collect members detail and let them know.

Please advise how to export my data. Spaces was a great service and I'm very surprised to see it go. The 5 stars is for Spaces itself. Turning off the service without allowing users to export their data deserves a 1

The app only shows a disturbing error message about the end date of Spaces and restricts access to it.

Why isn't it opening, it keeps on saying that spaces will be discontinued from 17th April, the app isn't opening. This happened just after the update!!

perfect to do groups. like books recommendations, movie groups. with each individual chat inside the group you can just talk about each movie or each book. and have a list of them with the link to Google description in one click.a

OK, you want to shut down spaces, I understand. However you can't just lock us out like that. You should allow us to warn our group members and move them to another platform. Seriously, that's not nice

A really good app, used it when planning trips with friends. Yet another good produce Google is about to discontinue :(

This company seems to have lost it's leading edge and is now bent on chasing shadows any and every trivial supposedly cool app fad. How many ecosystems should it take to build coherent social app?

Don't bother downloading, it's going to be discontinued on April 17th. Sounds like it would have been a good app.

Don't shut it down please!! I love this app. Sharing Christmas lists for my kids was so easy this year because of this app

Very, very sad to see this service go. For planning with friends and family, this app was perfect! It was everything I dreamed of in terms of format, and I hope it will return soon in some way. RIP

I get Spaces is gonna shut down. But why force it on us? Give sometime to get things sorted out first. All the groups we have made will take sometime to shift.
