SpanishDict Translator

This app has a lot of great reference material. The dictionary and vocab lists with clips for pronunciation help a lot, and the structure of the lessons are very practical. However, for some reason in the writing exercises, I have to press every key twice. You can disable them, but I don't want to because they're otherwise very useful, so it's a bit of a pain. Also, the ads partially cover the space you write in. I'd pay for the premium features when I'm able to, but for now it's frustrating.

1. Often presents erroneous word-for-word Microsoft robot translation as your search result, as if it were the correct answer. (e.g., search "I stand corrected") 2. No dark theme. 3. Uses tiny faded gray text on a blinding, bright, white background, and allows no font-sizing adjustments, so it is hard to read, in general.

This app is my constant companion. No one can learn how to speak a foreign language fluently by simply using an app, at some point you will actually need to talk to people! This app sure does comes close, though, and as a supplement to my ongoing Spanish class, it's amazing. Too many great features to name I'm addicted to the vocab quizzes, and the conjugation drills are where it's at. Customer support has also been above and beyond. Highly recommend if you're serious about gaining fluency.

This app has a way of gaining your interest so that you strive to gain more from it than you initially intended. There's really no need to mention that it translates words and sentences in English or Spanish. The examples are extremely helpful and the conjugations make it possible to learn how to speak the language. Just pace yourself because the amount of info given can become overwhelming and make it difficult to retain.

05/01/2022: bottom half of the page is taken up by a blank white banner telling me to upgrade to premium. If you think I'm going to pay $60/year to use a dictionary, you've lost your mind. Updating my review to 3 stars./ / / / / App has been perfect for as long as I've had it: quick searches, no nonsense. They are starting to push new premium features. As long as the main functionality of the app is not tampered with (a free Spanish-English dictionary), my review will stay at 5 stars.

I have used this app countless times, and I really like it. One thing great about it is that it doesn't just show you the word you're looking up. It tells you what part of speech the word is and lets you hear how it is pronounced. But what I most like about the app is that it gives you lots and lots of examples of the correct use of the word in complete sentences. You can learn a great deal about Spanish vocabulary and syntax if you take the time to study the example sentences well.

This is easily the best Spanish dictionary app I've found. It offers conjugations, example sentences, and links to associated words. My major gripe is just how big it is. It's over 400 MB total (275 of which is "user data") when most dictionaries are under 80 MB. I have no idea why it takes so much space, but I may sadly need to switch to a different dictionary to save space.

I am moving my review down from 4* to 1*. I contacted the customer service to resolve a character input issue (where each character has to be typed twice during text input exercises) also observed by other users. My response from customer service was that it is caused by "typing too fast" or "spelling words incorrectly". This is quite frankly insulting and a poor excuse, I have no issues with this platform on PC. Instead of resolving a technical error, you decided to point fingers at the user.

I love this Spanish dictionary app because it provides an audio of the Spanish term, and it provide multiple examples of how properly use the terms. Also, this dictionary has a tutorial for beginning Spanish language learners. This app provides so much for free and it is one of the best!

I've been using this app for quite some time now, with great success! I am an english speaker on a journey to perfect my spanish. This app delivers on conjugations, sentence usage or just plain old literal translations and definitions. Easy to use as well.

Very good, the drills are a good way to learn tenses with ability to add and delete, conjugation is comprehensive and most give a translation when you hover over, you can't ask for too much more, now you have to be consicentious and use it daily.

If it wasn't for SpanishDict, I would not have been able to learn Spanish. It's simply the best Spanish resource on the lnternet. They way it presents information not only of its dictionary but also grammar, verb conjugation and examples in context, is easy to follow, versitile and most importantly, the knowledge it presents is invaluable.

Not only does this app translate but also has lessons available to learn from AND conjugation drills AND EVEN examples for every word, including different ways to translate sentences. Its crazy. It has EVERYTHING, its amazing. This app has helped me tremendously. Thank you. Highly recommend.

I went to SpanishDict to translate an unfamiliar word and ended up spending over an hour hitting the "Random Word" button, reading the various definitions of words and learning how to speak Spanish more idiomatically. Three years of high school Spanish taught me how to speak the language. An hour on SpanishDict taught me how to communicate more effectively. Thank you for all of the effort you put into making this app user-friendly and informative.

Far superior than the other Spanish apps, especially better than Duolingo. Way less aggressive with the adds and less debasing of Spanish gender which is intrinsic to the language. Such a good app. I strongly recommend it for someone who needs help with their Spanish class or is starting fresh in preparation.

The dictionary is excellent, offering everything needed and more. And I love the learning resources - great situational aids, formal learning aids, and everything presented for a variety of learning styles. Bought premium and very happy with it!

Last year it was $3 for a year of premium (just removes ads, really). That was fine. Now they want $60 for the exact same thing! I don't know who fell and hit their head at the office, but please take them off the team responsible for pricing and send them to see a neurologist. Reply: I don't want any of those new features, I just don't want ads. So offer two tiers: the $3/yr "no ads" option, and the more expensive one for those who want that. As it is now, you get nothing from me and I just use an ad blocker.

So far (2 days in) I have found the app to be really useful. The dictionary seems to be extensively cross referenced and allows me to make word lists. The grammar section is useful especially the lessons which are excellent. So far I've been using the free version. I think that the cost of £50 per year for the paid version is expensive but we'll see.

One very minor issue--when watching pronunciation videos, first the word is pronounced fast, then slowly. It should be indicated somewhere that the slow way is not the actual way to pronounce the word in most cases. Some letters are usually pronounced differently. Still, this app is peerless for being so broad in scope. Some apps do certain things better, but Spanishdict is excellent for translation, for its grammar guides, and, yes, for having video pronunciation examples.

Wonderful translations of Spanish to English *OR* English to Spanish, changeable within the app at any time, make this a multipurpose resource. Being able to enter full phrases or sentences and have the appropriate colloquial translations, as well as examples, presented from different regions is fantastic! I've actually found that, at times, it comes in handy for interpreting the different meanings within the same language while communicating globally.

Awesome reference for understanding phrases and breaking down precise meaning of words. Shows conjunction and usage very quickly. If you dig into the app there are excellent spanish lessons using the best videos.

I find this app extremely useful, particularly that it provides many phrases for each word you search, so you are able to find the correct context you want to apply to the word.

This app is hands down the best Spainish learner app for all levels. Words fail to describe my love for this app. It makes my learning journey so much more fun. The downside is, I wish there is similar app from them in French, as it would be handy to have to brush up my French.

This app is sooo underrated! It should be more popular and is better than a lot of these mainstream apps. (Maybe it needs to be marketed better). I have been using it for a year now. It has everything in one. Quizzes to improve vocabulary, study guide for grammar, videos and a dictionary! It even has all the conjugations and in-depth explanations. The app is always updating itself and giving you more learning options, so I never get bored. Many apps DO NOT do this. Plus, it's all for free!

I couldn't love this app more! It's easy to use, is bilingual and just an all around wonderful little app. Thank you to the developers! Oh, and very few ads, not at all intrusive.

This is an invaluable resource (ie. a must-have) for people learning Spanish at all levels. The amount of work that has gone into setting out precise meanings of words, their conjugations, and examples of use, is astounding. I find myself using it several times a day as an integral part of my Spanish learning journey.

Easy to use, ads don't interfere with use and no weird glitches so far! Plus they seem to have most medical terms in their database which is mostly what I use it for.
