The app has everything you need. However you can't input paragraph spacing in your ad. So have to use the desktop version for perfect formatting. When editting an ad I'd prefer to be able to select the parts you want to edit as opposed to having to go through them all. But nothing major.

The app is great. Really easy to work with, quite convenient, it makes the process of looking for an accommodation quite pleasant. Regardless, I have removed a star there, as I find a lot of impolite landlords who are ghosting me even when we have booked a viewing, and I would like to have the chance to grade our cooperation. Of course that's not the case with everyone, but the number of entitled a*****es in the app is embarrassing.

Almost every other room is taken but still listed by agents to lure people in. I had an appointment with an agency and he didn't even tell me the room was gone so I went to the appointment like a fool. I reported it and I still have not heard anything from the spareroom team. This platform and the app are useless and they ask you to pay to message other users for rooms that aren't probably even available. This feels like a big scam.

First time using the app and within a week I had my own place. Clear, consistent communication between agencies and landlords. Everything was official and above books. Payments and documents were all safe and secure. Great app!

1. The app does not automate the deposit in line with the latest regulations from 1 June 2019. It must be no more than 1 week's rent. Monthly rent x 12 ÷ 52 = maximum holding deposit. 2. The app does not let viewers leave any feedback after viewing a property. There are a lot of properties on the app that do not correspond to what they look like on the pictures.

Great app. The only additional I would recommend is some coloured icons on the messages landing page so it's clear without having to go into the message what its status is. Alternatively, the ability to sort via Tags would be useful so that scheduled viewings can be accessed quickly and easily.

Works every time, easy to use, would be 5 stars but my flat keeps getting interest from people looking in Edinburgh when my property is nowhere near there which can waste a lot of time replying to students only for them to find out I am too far away from Edinburgh for them to commute.

For me, useless app. Nobody answer you inclusive after the payment to have a VIP access. If you put a offer, you only receive offers from random placed in UK, totally far from where are you looking for or where you need. Before worked better than now, in fact, I have more answers on tinder than here.

App is awful. It took over £70 from my account when I tried to make the update. Everytime it said that the payment couldn't go through so I did it 3 other times and all failed. But when I checked my bank account it said they had taken money off of me. I'm still trying to get it back

I advertised my loft space on spare room for the first time ever (jan 22) and i am very pleased with the service. The app is user friendly to follow(messages, edits, etc) and when i contacted the helpline they were very helpful too. Thankyou very much!! , would highly reccomend spareroom!!

Great service even just on the basic free membership. I have tried other ways of advertising rooms and none as effective as spareroom. You get other benefits if you subscribe such as multiple ads, but for 1 room at a time, the free service works just great. Been using for 5+ years now.

I have used Spare Room for many years ,it's easy and hassel free. You can also phone for advice and help if required and the app has alot of info and safety advice if needed.

Search seems broken for me. Apply price filters and try to sort by price but it has no effect.

Charging someone in need of imminent accommodation £10 when they might be homeless purely to message more than one person a week is exploitative and wrong. But you helped me out so you get 3 stars.

I don't really know how to rate this app. So there's is indeed a lot of choices, however you usually don't get a reply which is not the best thing for someone looking for a room. People who put adverts should get a warning if they don't reply within 3 days. A friend of mine gave up of Spareroom because of this same reason: You Just don't get a freaking reply!

Not happy with pausing part. I reactivated my account and an hour later I had a change of plan and Spareroom refuses to pause it back as is allowed once only if is 4 weeks bold advertisement. It was only 1 hour I never used it as was change of plan where tenant didn't move after all. I called twice and couldn't reach to the managers due to bank holiday.

Very simple to use....it's also nice to know a helpline is available for customers to speak to someone.

easy to find places with various filters (especially by easy tube station access and on-map listings), and you can save the searches or be notified periodically when new ads satisfy your requirements. Signed with someone in just a week! Make an ad - and use pictures!

My experience: The app is easy to use with lots of properties to look at, and good detail. But sellers usually never respond. I have made 50+ inquires to get ONE viewing. Most never reply, and the majority of replies are to tell you that the place isn't available anymore. By itself this is annoying, but the app encourages you to spend money to get early contact access to landlords. The rate's extortionate, with no real reward, or any effort by spareroom. Dont spend anything expecting success.

App no longer works. It has been functional before, but now will not open, and a popup appears saying the app is not downloaded via the Play store, whereas it clearly is. It is also a shame you can no longer search for benefits friendly rooms or by age range.

I found a place to rent within 7 days before moving to London. I also found a replacement tenant within 5 days before moving out. Though I did have to upgrade my membership by paying extra. But its totally worth it. Amazing app!

A hundred times more effective than the old newspaper ads. Instant activation, no waiting one or two weeks till newspaper ad comes out. Just brilliant. Thanks guys, you're Angels to us landlords.

It's a good app,the only issue is private Landlords always read and ignore messages especially when they don't want you.I have had bad experiences been rejected here especially when it's a private renter.Private landlords behave so terrible on this app.

Too much time wasting. The ads are often misleading: 1) agents advertise several rooms on the same ad and when you show for a viewing the rooms available are different than the ones on the ad. This should not be allowed. Each ad should be only for one specific room. 2) live in landlords often present as housemates 3) nobody removes their ad after the room is gone 4) ensuite searches return rooms that are definitely not en suite. Pity it's so popular, there should be a better app.

Even when you pay for the (early bird) the rooms that are listed are not available. Like what is the point having outdates rooms available? Another thing i have discover agencies leave the room available so when you contact them they say " This room is not available but we have other rooms that may suit your needs" Like what about no? I see this room i want this room. The spareroom must request from the landlord to update their property every 2 days. The only reason I use it is because i dont have much of choice other apps you talk with an agency not with a landlord.

Contacts come through quickly and if the have ads it is a good guide to see if they are suitable.

Great app. Even better than the site I think. Works really well. Not sluggish at all.

SpareRoom UK is AMAZING!!!!. We uploaded an easy-to-create advert and decided to pay for the 4 week upgrade option so that we could increase our contactability. The ad generated nearly 20 leads, several viewings and eventually we were able to select a tenant in just over 2 weeks! The customer service is great too! Really pleased!
