It worked well for one year, and I got it renewed for another one year, and after payment it is showing, your subscription has expired.!!! I mailed the team twice and they have not rectifoed it.. Buying books and reading them is best. This app sucks.

I gave the app 1 star rating before. Because my money got debited but subscription not activated. But hopefully after few email exchanges,Sparknotes understood the situation and within few days they refund me more than double the price of one year subscription. I truly appreciate Sparknotes team for helping me with the refund. My request to sparknotes team is to please look into the matter and remove the bug that is preventing user from using subscription benefit even after paying money.

I have recently renewed automatically, but was denied access. It do not allow me to restore my purchase. I tried to contact them through different emails shown in the app and their website, but all my emails are brounced back. They appear to be hiding.

The browser allows for search without subscription, why does the app then restrict us to subscriptions only. That's a total turn-off for me, I would've given it zero stars if it were possible, such a waste of time.

A complete scam. They advertise the app on their website, saying that it's ad free, and make it seem like the app is free by making the download free, and then force you to make a subscription to use it. Not only that, but you have to constantly pay for it if you're willing to buy a subscription. And the website is free, so it's a complete waste of money.

This app is good for those seeking help in European classical literature. There are many books in here, translated so that we can understand. It has the book for which I needed some guidance or notes. So overall, it's good.

I like the layout and info provided but you can't save titles for later and you always get put at the search menu when you pull up the app. I have to search for the book every time.

I downloaded it, thinking it was like the website (which is free by the way,) and loved the idea of having a handy app for when I'm doing home work on-the-go, only to find out that if you want to acess anything at all you have to pay for a subscription, which isn't worth the effort if you can just use the website.

Lots of people complaining they have to pay to use this app. You have to pay for the books, too. SparkNotes is providing a service. This app does everything you expect it to for a fraction of the price you'd pay for a single study guide, giving you access for a whole year. I downloaded this to have a companion while revisiting the classics. It does it's job well. Highly recommended.

I haven't been able to use the app for at least a month now because it keeps telling me that my subscription has expired, which isn't true. So essentially they've taken my money without providing me with a usable app. I have emailed them at least twice and have gotten no response.

I purchased yearly subscription. Now it's says purchase can't be restored, subscription expired. But it's still active in the play store. Can the developers help?

App keeps asking me to subscribe despite being subscribed. I have already paid twice but the app keeps logging me out and asking to subscribe again. Not sure if it's a scam but I'll stay away from this app henceforth.

I downloaded this app because I've been using the website to help me with Macbeth. For whatever reason, the site has been redirecting me, so I downloaded the app. They want you to pay to use the app when it's free to use the website. Unfortunately, I can not use SparkNotes now because of the website issue, and I refuse to pay for the subscription after reading comments of others who have payed. I will now be using other websites instead.

Won't let me use the app without paying, but... I'm already paying. Broken app, not worth bothering with customer service as everyone else says that's an awful experience and I believe them.

Very poor app with even worse customer service. I bought the app and it doesn't work. Keeps telling me to buy it then won't let me buy it again because I already have. 🙃

I was so excited about having SparkNotes as an app but... I have to pay? I can just use the online version for free instead of having to deal with paying. Like really? Again, I was like "Cool! I can just open an app and have all my stuff right there." But I'm not paying $5 a year for something I can get for free online. Very disappointed. 😤😤

It's a very good and useful app for you when you can't understand any poem and it also helps you to conclude the summary. According to me, its a very much useful and convenient app.

Useless app . Go to browser for e notes instead of installing this app. The notes are paid and uses internet access as well. But then what is difference between browser and this app. Browser also don't charge money.I want to give this app 0 stars but there was no option .

a quick install/uninstall to leave a note regarding so many recent negative experiences and difficulty contacting the developer --- this app has not been updated in over three and a half years. before installing an application and giving the developer your money, the way to find this information is to read the description.

in the beginning it worked well but now they diducted money from my account but when I open the app or any content it shows that u re not a subsucriber. having wrost experience.

i hate people like this. I shouldn't have to pay to study a book. Why market the app as "free" when you have to pay to see any content? The website is 100% free, if you're willing to look at ad clutter. Don't download this. I don't reccomend at all.

I have recommended this app to so many people. Now, I have to let them know that it is a scam!! They will NOT let you know when they are charging you the renewal and are so fraudulent that they will not honor a refund. IT IS A SCAM!! SHAME ON YOU Google play!! NEVER AGAIN!!

I sent out an email to the developers. Its going on to a week now and still no answer. I paid for the yearly subscription but now it won't give me access. I would like to get this issue solved or if not please sent my refund back. Thank you.

I wish they just gave you the option to pay to get rid of ads instead of not letting you access anything until you subscribe. Why market it as a free app when you can't do anything without paying?

Literally a scam, all of the app's contents are locked behind a paywall, when everything on the website is actually free to access. Horrible business model. Stick to the spakrnotes website instead.

If you really want to read english literature it is for you. But you have to pay for contents. overall it's good. In my opinion please visit on sparknote's website instead of downloading this app.

I have a subscription but it doesn't let me in and insists it's expired but in Google Store it's clearly still active. There doesn't seem a way to fix it.

Makes you pay before you can even access anything. Just go to the website, you can look up everything on there for free. Way better than the app!

I am a paying customer and my subscription won't expire until July 2021, but the app won't let me in. I wrote to them in July and no one has responded yet.

You have to pay a subscription to use it. You can't use it at all unless you pay. Online is way better its FREE! Use the online version DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE APP! Don't waste you time on the app!!!!
