This is the best spritz app ive found because it works from Text To Speech, meaning I can use this with any app that has TTS enabled. I personally use this exclusively with my favorite reading app, Pocketbook. I can start the spritzreader from any word in a sentence by pressing and holding on the word, selecting the speaker icon, and pressing play. I dont have to load my book into a separate reader which means i can use this with ebooks rented from the library super easily via adobe epub dl. I find its better to increase/decrease by 25 wps, not 50 but, once I found the settings to change that no issues at all. its easy to pause, backup, restart and stop.
Still the best Spritz reader I've found so far for reading web page (using Share...), but the ability to open or share PDFs with it would be very useful. The ability to hide the controls for a more minimal reading experience would also be helpful.
It does what it is supposed to very well. I wish there were more options though, for example, being able to center the words instead of the left justification.
simply doesnt work. followed instructions faithfully, but there's no overlay. tried to reinstall it, but it wont even instal now. i can't even get a refund because it's "not in policy". this is simply theft. avoid at all costs.
Lol, who knew I could read this fast! Follow the setup instruction, easy. And to prove it still works, i just installed it on my S8. You have no idea how much it helps my dyslexic son read like a pro. Well, 100wpm for his 10 year old struggling brain almost made me cry with joy.
This app is fantastic! There are alot of people giving 1*, but it's clear they haven't read the instructions! Ironic really!
Works perfectly on web pages via the sharing button. It's great.
Stopped working on android 10 no longer loads anything highlights words like it's about to start and the pop up never comes
The app has stopped working with Google Play Books as TTS method. I hope someone updates this or points me to another app, I've used this for years
This app used to work fine on my previous phone, but is not working on my Redmi Note 8 Pro. Can you please look into this issue?
Used to be near flawless for use of Spritz RSVP via Accessibility TTS. Has been completely non functional since around January 2021
Why can't I just paste text into the app to read it? Why are these difficulties with TTS?
No longer works with play books
Won't touch another article without it!
There is no option to even open a book. It doesn't show up as something you can paste text into, there doesn't seem to be a point to this app other than to collect information. Baffled.
Really love the offline part of app, which is good because no matter what email i try to setup an account or facebook i can not log in. So can only use half the app, lovely. If app was more than dollar would want refund
Would benefit from having better control over reading starting point .
when I read Turkish words, the characters is not shown, just blank. Can you give a Turkish language support? I think it is not difficult. I'm waiting your reply.
Really interesting idea and I enjoy using it just wish it was easier to start and stop.
What a shame! I have been a fan of the Spritz reading for a long time and have been waiting for an app to read on the phone. This one however is a big disappointment. Does not work with Google books nor Kindle. Turns itself on every time I unlock the phone and is hard to turn off. So much potential wasted. Please, please Dev do some work and finish this app.
And I still comprehend everything. I've only tried max 350 wpm. That's already faster than my normal 250wpm--plus less distractions and interruptions from seeing a whole page of words before you and getting fatigued or mind wandering elsewhere.
So far so good. Can't see why people are so unhappy with the app. I used this on a note 4, galaxy tab s2, and Nvidia shield tablet and all worked flawlessly. I think low end devices in my experience always have issues with TTS which is how this app works. Don't blame the app if your hardware can't handle it.
Hello. I am loving these speed reading apps. I have to give this app three stars. Another star will be earned if the app allows users to relocate where to start reading out loud. The app constantly keeps bring me to sections of the book where I don't want to start reading. Hope this makes sense and can be fixed. I am willing to change my review. PS: I strongly suggest adding a meta guiding option along with the RSVP option like Outread. I almost debated switching to an iPhone because of their meta guiding option. Outread offers both.
Love the app and I'm so glad there is finally a way to integrate spritz with Google play books, I've been wanting to do that for a while. My only issue is that I wish it was easier to navigate where the reading would start, often if something happens and I miss a paragraph I can't figure out how to go back a paragraph.
Easy to set up; step by step instructions included. I'm primarily using it with Google Play Books. It always starts at where I left at. My only issue with it is that it drains my phone's battery very quickly, quicker than any other app I have used. Otherwise, I highly recommend it. It's definitely worth the small cost!
This used to work flawlessly, now I can't get it to work with any app. Feel cheated a bit after buying and seeing it work less and less. Then buying other paid apps that are supposed to work with it often don't. Too much headache and still can't get it to not force close.
Can't choose where you start reading in articles so if you need to exit at any point and come back you have to start over from the beginning.
Works great. At first I was reluctant because it's not an ebook reader itself, but that's actually better because I can both read the books and also easily read articles on the web, for example.
Does not work at all. While logged in, all settings checked, and given all permissions, it refused to work. I could not use it for emails, Google search results, or Wikipedia articles. The closest I got to working was when it opened up on a PDF, only to leave me staring at an empty space that refused to respond to anything.
