I'm pleasantly surprised. The app is very streamlined. It's ad supported so there's a lot of usage and usage data (for the map). It's easy to remove the ads with a one time payment. The test let me realize that my LTE connection was much faster than our countryside DSL, so I just switched to using my phone as an access point and can work much better. Upload speeds in particular are night and day.

Tried on Remix Android 6.0. Eventually an application that did show my Internet speed! Many other applications that I tried were just showing adds, and zero speed. Adds in this free application, as expected, but they don't affect the usability of the application. Uses quite a large 44 MB of internal storage. Each speed test uses approximatly 3 MB of data.

Wonderful app, thanks. Have been using speedtest for years. It still works (old version of course) on my 10 year old Samsung S2. And we have the current version on all our newer phones (2 to 3 years old). We live in a poor reception area, so use speedtest whenever we experience network problems. We appreciate the additional details recorded by the newer versions. Our only criticism: it uses a lot of data; we wish it used less, but still happy. As I said above, wonderful. Thanks so much.

Something wrong with this app in the past 48 hours. Suddenly the app is unable to recognize or find servers when device is connected by Wi-Fi. When a mobile phone is connected to pay data the speed test works fine but when the same device is switched over to Wi-Fi the app cannot find a server. Just the Little Wheel spinning endlessly. This sudden loss of function in the app is the same across several different Android devices so it is definitely not a hardware issue here.

I like to this app so much that I became a premium subscriber! But within the last few hours I cannot connect to the VPN! It keeps saying to try again later. I've tried all the recommended steps and nothing helps! I've gotten in touch with the developer, but if I don't hear something soon and the issue as a resolved I'll be canceling my subscription, for what was the best speed test and VPN app on the market!

I have used the app for years quite happily, but since upgrading to premium I have had nothing but issues. VPN says I need a premium account to change server (even though I have one) but then if I click on premium account there is an error message to say I already have an account. Tried updating the app to no avail. Also for VPN tells me I have no Internet connection but when I test my speed it is running fine. Time to unsubscribe from the premium and go back to using it purely as a speed test.

Generally good app but since last update the app cannot be closed using the back button on my Galaxy S8 (Android 9), have to use the home button which means the app is not fully closed and continues to run. Update: Since updating app today, problem resolved and working great. Many thanks to the developers for a speedy resolution.

I don't know what you have done to the 'new' version but I am certain that it doesn't report my internet connection correctly any more. The 'old' version I am sure was correct and gave credible upload and download speeds which were commensurate with my system performance. Can I please have the old one back?

Update - as the Ookla devs note, the new version is automatically recognizing my IAP to remove ads. Thank you, Ookla! App is great, I've used their services for a long time. However, I also purchased the remove ads function and the app always forgets that. It continues to show ads, and attempting a restore purchase fails, while attempting to remove ads (again) shows I've already purchased it.

This app is great but it needs one important update. For some reason the speedometer only goes up to 100. I think it should go zero to 1,000. Or perhaps have an adjustable speedometer that shows a different scale when high speed Internet is detected. It's not very fun when right away the dial goes all the way to 100 and my gigabyte Internet has another 500 to go. I know that the exact number is given anyway, but I just wish that this one important update would be done.

A must have app for anyone who does IT work (professionally or for the family). Great for so many troubleshooting scenarios. I use Ookla on my android, my windows systems, and my RaspberryPI whenever I'm having slow internet. Pinpointing the bottleneck shows the needed action instantly so you can focus on fixing the problem rather than finding it.

Been using this app for the past few year and it keeps impressing me with each update, i work with a local ISP and this is my go to App when i want to show the internet speed. Keep it up guys good job.

This app uses tons of background data and will consume mobile data quickly. It doesn't distinguish between wifi or mobile and will use either for some data behind the scenes. I have uninstalled it after I noticed a massive increase in data usage. Keep in mind that some people also.have limited "wifi" too so this will go quickly through that.

Developer offered the option to remove adds for free some months ago and it was great not to have adds but in recent updates, that offered seems to have been rescinded as the adds are back again ...the developer also apologized for the ads and removed them. Unfortunately, the in the latest update, which was also flagged as unsafe by Google play secure, adds are back in the latest version. . Other than that, it's as accurate as anything else out there but obviously, untrustworthy.

I set some things in my router modem for better security, it's a 2.4 and 5 g internet, but now on Samsung s21 it only works with my cell carrier. Other apps work fine on wifi, but it also had the same issue on a PC using the win10 app or in a web browser. I removed the app on my phone and also my Amazon HD 10 fire tablet then installed the latest version, did not fix the issue. Every other thing works for my internet getting 260 mbps

I have been using Speed test for over 15 years and when I want to know my upload download and ping in milliseconds I rely on them for true accuracy. They set the standard for these measurements. When you find the best you stick with them.

False app. It's showing more than 100mbps for my connection but, it actually not. All other speed test sites showing results approximately actual number. I suspect that it is only showing in this way for airtel broadband users. Airtel people only recommending this app to check the speed of connection.

Paid to remove ads, changed phone and can't get the paid version back. Have emailed support and heard nothing. Maybe a bad review will get some interest??? 6/4/22. Shame a bad review had to get you to respond. However even after the so called update I still have adverts and the video test just crashes out the app.

My uncle had a great idea to test the speed of my 5G network. So he did and instantly all my data was depleted. I thought maybe it was me. So I added 1 GB I decided to test it a second time after using it for a little bit. And again I noticed the test depletes all my data instantly.

Usually a great app but can't seem to get past the Privacy Notices "OK" button. When clicked on, nothing at all happens so cannot continue! Weird

Unlike before, the speed test results now are not stored on the results page. Pls update your app so all rest results will be stored on the results tab. I'll change may rating to 5S once its fix. Thanks

I am using speedtest on multiple platforms and I have 1Gbps optical connection. It would be good to have a way how to identify and force to run speedtest against the server which supports this speed. If remote server is not running on 1Gbps or higher connection, then results of speed measurement is crippled.

Great I use this on all my devices. The only thing I would like this app to do is what you can stream eg. 720p. 1080HD , 4K and 8K etc. Then this would be the only app you would need to see your WiFi or mobile data speed.

Testing is good, but it used MASSIVE amounts of data to run tests on my mobile network. Like 2 GB for 2 tests. 2GB! I I still had a limited data plan, that would've wiped out my monthly allotment!

Doesn't work half the time, GIVES FALSE WIFI SPEEDS TOO or just says failed to load even though I'm online especially with a is VPN ACTIVE...I don't understand WHY considering the fact the website works 90% of the time even though a VPN is enabled. why is it Not specified in the app description or features. thats lying to potential users/customers BLATANT FRAUD AND FALSE ADVERTISING BECAUSE IT DOESN'T DO WHAT ITS DESIGNED TO DO, ITS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE APP!
