Very nice game. The initial customisation makes each run feel quite different, especially since you don't get to see all the cards of a certain path in a single run. The randomness (cards provided by "dedication" and chests, events, a shrine spawing right before the Lich) can often make the difference between success and failure which is frustrating at first. Steep learning curve: trial and error is required to learn some of the more subtle mechanics, but it feels rewarding when you finally do.
Great FREE game. No ads and awesome experience. The interface could be improved, though... for instance, you can't read the played cards on that turn - when you press on a played card, a text box pops out, but it stays behind your finger (and then it goes away when you let go the to read it) - that "onRelease" button doesn't work as it is.
The option to combine cards makes it stand out from other card games, which along with the many different classes, races and elements makes each run unique. My only concern is the lack of a way to check what cards have each deck pool, even after playing them, which leads to confusion and makes it hard to remember what goes well with other elements.
Good enough, but lots of room for improvement. I've enjoyed it for a weekend, and was close to unlocking the full version in order to support the creators. Then I realized that every matchup vs the Lich endboss was nigh impossible. The deck building component was fun all throughout the game, but you can't win unless you strive for a specific type of combos. I'm not going to pay for a bunch of new classes who need to become the same thing by the end. Nice attempt, but grossly unbalanced :-(
It's ball bustingly hard and not in a fun way for me, battles are slowpaced and difficult, you really need to think out your strat before playing, and that's AFTER you go through all the characters and class combinations to see what's best for you. This is not a game you can sit down and play a quick game in every once in a while, it's a major undertaking everytime you start a new game, and due to the slow pace, it just takes up too much time with not enough fun.
Very very excellent card game! If you've played Slay the Spire or Night of the Full Moon you have a similar idea of what this game is. You choose a character to play, with options including class, race and path. These all have different effects, such as different cards or different level-up effects. Difficulty feels fair, maybe the Final boss could be tuned down and the later enemies tuned up a bit. But overall an excellent well worth the time and price.
Had fun when playing dragonborn and orc. Other races are underpowered. I don't think that the term "Path" is explained anywhere. 15% difficulty increase makes even the starting quest area impossible (at least I couldn't beat it). Additionally, there is no info on how to unlock classes other than warrior. Definitely a game to revisit after some time to see if there will be improvements. 3/5 because it's smooth, looks great and has awesome card interactions.
Not Great. Seemed like it was going to be fun, but the cards seemed really unimaginative and the game was incredibly easy until the final boss, at which point you pretty much sit and watch as he gets 8 turns in a row and then you die. I'm exaggerating a little, but he limits the cards you get so instead of the 6-10 cards I had been playing per turn, I got 0-1. Every turn. So unless I were dealt all my best cards on the very 1st turn, I couldn't do much. 3 runs through and same result. I'm done
Played & purchased their other title. Was directed to this title from developer. Instantly loved it. Try free, then purchase. Took me some time to learn. I will say it could take a little bit of effort to understand some mechanics. Like anything. I think maybe allow game speed to be set slower than it currently can be set. That by itself might allow a person to catch on to new concepts as they are happening. Absolutely worth picking this up as an offline card rpg.Best of its kind, in my opinion.
Awfully similar to Night of the Full Moon. Unfortunately, this one isn't as animated as the other game. So far, the cards are way too similar to the other game, giving this a cheap knock-off vibe. It's a 2 for now since despite being a newer released game compared to Night of the Full Moon, this looks and feels dated. On the bright side, it plays well. Will play some more and adjust review accordingly.
I suppose it hits the spot for some folks, but I quickly got bored with the gameplay. Also, I got particularly annoyed by the heightened sensitivity of cards getting selected when all I wanted to do was read their description; this would frequently cause it to go straight to purchase or usage queries, and when I backed out, I had to re-open the information again, risking repeating the same issue. The art seemed cool, but I'd at least consider coloring things in.
Really addictive and a well made CCG. But It kinda feels like a proof of concept for a much bigger game. I would love to see more levels for your character and more benefit to beating battles besides just earning black borders. And a longer campaign would be nice. Great game overall, but would be better if the game just felt like it had more progression. Still giving it 5 stars due to it being very fun and a well structured card system.
This for me is an all time favorite! I love that its hard. I've only found one class that i can beat the game in without requiring much mastery. Besides that i love the fact that you need actual personal game play experience to eventually get the overall understanding of that class learn what to get and get rid of, and then the adventure begins! And if you figure it out then you can start that learning curve from noob to class pro when you switch to a different class best replay value ever.
Of all the roguelike phone card based dungeon crawlers I've played, this is the best one, with the most replay value. The card combos are varied and interesting, the line art isn't overly colorful or cheesy, and the discord community lets you talk to the developers. The only issue is that the game can be really harsh during the early levels, but that's ok.
It is very fun and simple to get a feel for without becoming boring. My only issue is the last stage is impossible to me. Maybe I just don't have the right strategy down but it feels too hard. The level cap is a bit annoying but understandable. In the end it's well worth the download and the price if you decide to buy.
Such a delightful surprise. No unnecessary hand holding. I hate super restrictive tutorials. Other reviewers say to add list and details of skills but I don't think so. Was enjoyable to be surprised by a new skill or combination of classes. Simple gameplay but depth in strategy. Like any roguelike, requires a lot of playthroughs with trial and error but thats why you play them. Satisfyingly challenging.
After 3 days, only found 1 combination that even came close to finishing game. Each class/combo WOULD be playable however the random-ness of getting the card/combo you need makes it near impossible (as well as the ever increasing gold demand to upgrade/get cards). When you get to 3rd teir+ the enemies decks are so well put together it's beyond frustrating to try and beat them.
Incredible variety of combinations and classes. FIRST time I'm buying a game of this kind, 4 euro for unlocking everything is pretty worthwhile, hopefully they'll continue delivering contents and fixing crazy stuff such as Final Boss impossible phase and higher AI performance. -Update- Some race-class combinations are crazy, Licht didn't even touch me. The game needs to be balanced!
really, this game is up there with Slay the Spire, plus I'm such a convenient form factor. I love that it works in portrait mode, so much better than the norm if landscape. also there is like no ads whatsoever, it was even a little hard to even know how to pay for it which is so refreshing. we need more games like this.
First time playing seems alright. But after the first time, game becomes too difficult to progress after lvl2. It draws you in with the first playthrough just to bump the difficulty to impossible and force you to pay just to win. No skill needed to win, just RNG and LOTS of luck. I refuse to spend money on a game that makes you believe you can win if only you spent a little to improve yourself. No one makes games without trying to make money but atleast hide that fact by making the game fair.
Extremely unbalanced, some combinations are unplayable (in my experience). 1* Very nice mechanics (a whisper from the Little Red Riding Hood). 5* Enjoyable visually 4* Still experimenting with different combinations (got the full game). Wish I could give 0.5 star more as an incentive 😉
Fun game. Good art. Well made. Feels good to find and upgrade cards, tweak your deck, and exploit combos. Some classes are inherently weaker than others, though, making it very difficult in some circumstances. A lot of time you're a victim of RNG that leads you to inevitable defeat even if you play perfectly, and that's just not fun.
Impossible after level 2. Even with the best cards/game it is impossible to beat. I had the *perfect* game until lvl 3 boss and coupd not beat it (tried 10+ times by quitting before losing and trying again). Enemy makes you discard your hand every turn making the encounter not even competitive, you get destroyed regardless. Fun but impossible.
Good game mechanics I could play for a while except you can only play 2 of the 8/9 classes unless you buy the whole game, no free version with ads as an alternative or way to buy the classes in game Enjoyed playing through as a druid but without access to the other classes variation is limited to paths so not point going much further. Good game if you don't mind paying for the full thing
I love Night Of The Full Moon and Meteorfall and this gem belongs in their company. It's beautifully put together with lovely art and a lot of great strategic gameplay. Everything is also very clearly explained in-game, simply by tapping and holding. There are no ads and seemingly nothing to pay for! I don't know how the dev is making money off this, but thank you for this gift! By the way, the new home screen icon is a huge improvement.
Enjoying this game! I like the level of challenge and the diversity of character options. My only major complaint is that there's no place that lists the cards and effects that the classes and races start with, which makes it very difficult to start a game. There's also no listing of the cards for each path. Either the menu should have a section where all of this is listed or it should be accessible when you click on the icon for character creation. Other than that, great job!
