Spendlytics

Spendlytics is a new way for you to gain insights into the money you spend in store or online with your personal Santander debit and credit cards. If you’ve ever wondered where or how you spend your money, this is the app for you. We’ve made it easier to keep track of your money by breaking down all your card spend into useful categories and also showing you your own personal spending trends over time.
With Spendlytics you can see your:


• card spend every month broken down into categories;
• card spend as soon as you use your card;
• spend over the course of a year and compare your month on month activity; and
• total spend on all major brands.

To access the app you’ll need your Santander Online or Mobile Banking log on details and a personal Santander debit or credit card.

Please note that this app is designed to give you information and insights into your card spend only, so it’ll not show you details of any fees and charges incurred. For a full account overview, including checking your balance, making payments or account servicing, please use our Santander Mobile Banking app or our Online Banking.

When you install the Santander Spendlytics app, you may be asked to let it access information or use your device’s features. Please accept as this enables the app’s features to run properly (almost all Android apps do this). Android own the names of permissions and Santander will only use them to enhance your experience when using the app. For example, ‘Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage’ lets you remember your ID in Spendlytics. You can find a list of the app’s permissions in your phone’s Applications Manager, or by visiting the Google Play Store and clicking ‘Installed’.

The Spendlytics app is not currently compatible with your Android tablet.

The "you've been logged off" prompt comes up every time the app is opened. This wastes a lot of time because it causes the app to actually restart the resources from scratch after already loading the resources to open that page. Also, this app shouldn't even exist as there's no point of a separate app. It has to be integrated into the main app.

Some time ago the single santander smart bank app that was excellent was replaced by 2 useless apps. This one being the debit card app and the other is current account and credit card app. Many months development later and these new apps are still no where close to the functionality, user friendly experience or accuracy of the smart bank app. Can't alter the preset categories or manually place a transaction in a category. Most of the time the balances don't even agree, I've been advised that this is because one app is more up to date than the other.

The app was great! Promised all features would transfer to main app.. over a year later all we get are annoying weekly insights that you have to wait to see and then theres no way to see monthly or yearly figures, at all. Why take away something good?! Your main banking app isnt as good as other providers.. id love to know what payments are being attempted instead of "please pay enough money into your account by 2pm" when i have to call support to find out what the bill is or how much it is!

Was told to download this as I have memory problems abd wanted to get hold of my pin. Like everyone else, it's apparently rooted. I actually went further and restored the factory settings, losing all of my photos and videos. I had no choice as I need access to my account so I can eat today Really poor. I am actually so angry right now. Why recommend an app which has a history of technical problems, all well documented. Thank you Santander.

My phone has been updated to Android 10 recently, the app is not compatible with the new Android update and thinks that my phone has been "rooted". Keeps telling me to go to my phone settings and do a factory restore, so the app is now a waste of space. Developers need to get their app up to date with Android 10 as people will uninstall it.

No end of issues woth this app. Two of which are: 1. wouldn't display pin when requested. Said I needed to call up. Defeats the object of the app. 2. I cant even log in anymore, device registered encounters an error everytime I try. Santander needs to watch out for digital banks such as Revolut, their app does everything santander wallet is meant to and more with no errors.

Since I downloaded this app update (after your promotion email!) I am inundated with messages from my phone telling me that the app is draining my battery. It is not active but something is running in the background (what is it doing?). How can I revert to the old version that didn't drain my battery? Only had the app update for 2 hours and have now had to disable it!

App works well and presents the data clearly. For me it would be really useful if we could exclude certain transactions. I randomly send and receive some larger values in the year that stuffs up all the charts and average spend values etc.

I have no problems with the app, but just integrate these features into the main app. Everyone else already does, catch up. Edit: It said these features would be integrated into the new app last week. I hope it will appear in future updates.

I left one review earlier, to say I had re-installed twice. Uninstalling until you get it sorted. You would think the functionality of this app could easily be incorporated into the main app. But that works, so maybe best left alone. If I could give it less than 1 star, I would.

I really liked this app. It showed charts of monthly and annual spending and it showed the pin number for the cards. I used it a lot! It said the features will be moved to Santander Mobile Banking, but the only feature moved was the pin number for cards. Where are the charts and the summary of spending now??!!

very useful app, however this should be part of the santander banking app Also it could be improved if you could edit transactions and assign them to the correct category e.g. food/drink bought at petrol station is classed under travel costs. very confusing when analysing your spending!

I don't understand why this isn't integrated with the standard SANTANDER MOBILE BANKING app. I DOWNLOADED IT because it is the only way to SEE pending transactions. Once I'd gone through setup, I couldnt see it anyway as it was my partners card that was used. A lot of hassle to see info which should be in the SANTANDER APP!

This app was a lot more helpful then the standard banking app. Saved a lot of time trying to manually figure out percentage of spending on certain areas which as a student is important. I really hope you can bring this back :(

The concept of the app is geeat, but it's far too buggy. Most of the time, the app struggles to open. Pressing "retry" prompts the command again. Very frustrating.

Reporting that my device is rooted when it isn't. Which stop any access to the metrics pulled from my accounts. Seems to be a compatibility issue with android 10. The app has not been through any iteration of late! Come on santander sort it out!

does a great job of categorising but the total 'spend' in a brand or category included any refunds. so if you return a lot of goods it is totally misleading. e.g. if you order in a year £5,000 from an online clothing retailer and return £4,500 the app says you spent 5,000! thus it doesn't actually help you control your real spending! additionally there is no method of downloading to a spreadsheet so you cant even manipulate or addin the noncard spending.....

Please fix the issue that the app doesn't close automatically and stays open in the background. when you fix that you will deserve 5 stars. Also make an option for real time notifications when you do transactions with the cards retistered in the app.

I do like this app. However, I wish you could yourself change the categories. For example, if you have purchased a gift for someone from say Asos, instead of it coming being categorized as clothes/shoes you could change it to gifts.

Good WHEN it works. Updated my phone software to the newest version of Android and now the app thinks my device is rooted?! When it isn't. Won't let me on the app at all. Just keeps giving me the same message saying it "values my safety." Very annoying
