The app keeps telling me that my internet connection is offline when it isn't (it seems to happen randomly with certain properties), which means I can't book the hotel I want. The app is not intuitive at all. It's also much more limited than the web version, which allows you to specify guests who are children.
This new version is barely passable for what it claims to do. I have stayed and used the check in and chat functions twice and neither times have that worked. Requests for bedding went completely unanswered. Questions about hotel info/policies also not responded to for over 12 hours. It may be property dependent and an issue of staff knowing how to use this feature, but if you're going to roll it out, make sure the staff know it's there. Lastly, you used to be able to see hotel pet policy, but not any more. Now you still have to go on the desktop site to find that info.
Great app! helpful when traveling for business. FYI, for those having issues, make sure to uninstall/reinstall. It fixed all my problems that happened after the last update. Make sure to combine accounts before reinstalling, if not you will have to reinstall again.
Everything useful about this app has been removed. It used to be great for checking your progress in the loyalty scheme, search on hotels you might want to go to, and look at promotions you might aspire to. Now it's useless. I can't even check what loyalty grade I'm on now or see my profile details. Ruined!
I'm so frustrated. The app was great before the changes. It is not user friendly and it's difficult to find past stays and previous activity. The older version was so much better and easier to navigate!!
All this app does is allow you to schedule a stay. It tells me how many points my rewards account has but it doesn't give me the ability to access what the number is. Super unintuitive!
Terrible. This app was pretty good and now after the upgrade it's terrible ; slow, intuitive UI, can't find anything, pointless features and overall terrible customer experience.
I have a reservation and when I open the app, it state Book a stay. and the app has nowhere to look up your reservation I call and was told because my son setup up reservation it will not pull up mys what I need the app for. nothing all the app is good for is booking. The same thing with Marriott and my reservation is with Marriott.
HATE IT! I am SPG Platinum but recently it went down. SPG used to be awesome (and had an awesome app), but since recently, when opening the app, it request an update from Playstore. However, playstore says that my device (Huawei P20 Pro) is not compatible. Seriously? It is neither a cheap China phone nor an uncommon phone. How is this possible?
Initial was working well however when reservations are cancelled and rebooking done .. error in system happen .. Please look into it ! Also adding email contact of the property would be of much useful rather than just phone no.
App seems to have issues connecting to back end servers reporting this as an internet connection problem. Marriott have messed up here and need to fix it, the app just does not work now...
Using Huawei phone, can't upgrade and can't use at all since the update became available. At least they should have the old app still working. If nothing's broken, please do not change it.
Horribly slow and bad UX experience. The older one was so nice. Does not show all properties unless you put the exact city eg. Delhi, New Delhi, Gurgaon are all close-by but you have to run 3 different searches to get all properties. No equivalent of the SPG thank you card. Starpoint based reservation used to much better.
This app is C rap. Just a clone of Marriotts app since they bought Starwood. Don't even waste your time with it, just use Marriott app as Starwoods great app is gone forever. It's the American way. Can't compete with your much better competitor? Buy them, downgrade and devalue everything making them just as bad as you are all while raising the price of everything.....
Now I'm unable to access my account information and it states I have zero points. I've stayed at SPG properties a total of 12 days so far this year and have used my rewards number. Issue connecting to the database, maybe?
The app was getting better but is now worse than ever. Compared to before (48-72hrs), it now takes in excess of 1 month for hotel stays/nights to appear on the account and sometimes even missed. As a member, I am now having to audit and make sure my account is up to date myself.
Absolute rubbish, records bookings but does record number of nights stayed. Try and record missing nights , impossible, just loops.
easy to use. some hotels are better than others in allowing in-app checking in etc, but the app itself is straightforward.
Everything ok , except it doesn't show pictures of the room and the speed of the app should be improved.
App has helped me get the best rates and information on hotels around the world, also it allows me to order up extras for my room i.e., feather pillows, extra blankets, bathrobe etc.. I highly recommend downloading this app today, you will not regret it.
Works best, more after merge with Marriot. It would be great if the app can pull up bookings based on confirmation number done at travel website, as of.now the app shows booking only done at SPG or Marriot website.
was one of my favourite apps but since Marriott took over and combined the programs it has never functioned well if at all. get you SH#£ together Marriott
easy to make.reservations on. also i have used the chat feature while staying at a hotel, works good and convenient.
Since the merge with Marriott app has gone down hill. Links don't work and information is not always current.
I don't know what you were thinking, but this app is garbage now. I used it all the time and now when I try to get rates for my preferred hotels a red bar appears at the top of the page that says the internet connection appears to be offline? If that's the case how did I search the available hotels in the first place? I have 2 different phones and the app does the same thing on both. Before ramming the changes down everyone's throats, maybe you could have ensured that the app would work properly first. The Marriott properties seem to show ok, but the Sheraton ones do not. Please fix. I travel on business regularly and need this to work.
