SphereTones

SphereTones is a visual instrument.
In contrast to traditional composition methods this approach places intuition, randomness, playfulness in the focus of attention.

The base element is the Sound-Sphere. Imagine a planet, where the ball you drop, will always be bouncing, creating a perpetual-motion machine. The height of the drop controls the time between bounces, hence the rhythm.

Zooming is the other key part of the composition. By changing the perspective, the user is able to change different aspects of the sound. At the normal level, the rhythm can be created, in a deeper state it is possible to shape the triggered sounds.

You start off with a blank screen and within seconds can get soundscape down. You can zoom in on spheres to customise your sounds. Zoom out for reverb. Swipe your sphere(s) to fade the sounds away and start new sounds with new spheres. You could write a whole album with going round you endless canvas fading in and out of sphere groups. This is a brilliant new app. A brilliant new way of thinking about composition. Highly recommended

I'm a musician and keyboard player that loves weird music . This will generate absolutely loads of strange syncopated binaural melody's. It's a little difficult to get your head around to begin with( that's good though) but well worth it . Brilliant piece of programming. I commended the people that wrote this. Awesome

I enjoy the challence presented to creating unique sound envelopes; reminds me of another program I have used called, Alchemy, for creativr drawing challenges. I enjoy being drawn into the process, in itself is meditative. Thsnks guys, looking forward to new updates. What would make for a very interesting effect, would be to tie the tonal scale to light spectrum, make color selectable, and background coloring. The whole thing to be video recorded. Just a thought,..

Hey guys, I'm not kinda complaining just want you to know that this is the best modern musical instrument ever! It is brilliant the way you design this and come out with this idea. But, there are some bugs when we record the sound. When i share it, the sound kinda skipped / shattered efx. Idk, it would be perfect if you guys fix this a.s.a.p.

...than anything else, at this point. It's just as easy to make something cool as something really annoying. One thing it lacks is stop, pause, and start buttons; I recommend all three (stop would make the beaters all start over again, whereas pause would literally pause the action, and play restarts or resumes as applicable). Also, more sounds and octaves, as well as volume controls, would be great. Finally, a reset button would be really nice. It's a wonderful idea and a well-executed app, otherwise.

The idea behind this app is brilliant. Super simple to use & pretty addictive & relaxing. I'd be happy to part with cash for an expanded version. The sounds in this are a bit 2D & the sound library is also lacking but demonstrates what's capable. Adding own sounds would be a huge bonus as would the ability to save.

You need to get this. Nov. 15 Update : Used to run very high quality. Now I have static noise all the time. The previous tones were much better and more variant. The only advantage is the fine tuning. HTC Desire X

In these days of everyone messing around with modular set ups. This brings something entirely new to mobile synthesis. I actually want to record it into Ableton. WOW! I'm also going to check out your other apps. Flux sounds interesting too.

So intuitive to use and that moment when you just happen to come across something you made ages ago whilst scoping the vast landscape of madness you've made. I love the equalising effect you get from the zooming and all the other little bits of awesome. Thank you.

Would be good to be able to change the individual volumes of the sounds. I couldn't really get into it. I found too much going on.

App crashes randomly wasting several hours setting up a good sound. Needs more samples or the ability to import sounds, the presets are somewhere limited to percussion only.

It's a great app but the drum sounds are lacking. With better sounds this would be a five star app all the way.

Beautiful, unique, and captivating instrument... But I can't save the soundscapes. The files in my Google Drive say Incomplete Upload and won't open.

It is good, but there arent enouch sounds to make good music, and you cant delete the spheres like what? It drives me insane.

This app looks & sounds good from what I've seen via Youtube, but on the Note5 it doesn't work @ all

If you're a musician or a music junkie, you'll fly around your room in headphones as soon as you'll start to get going with spheres. Say hello to outer space!

This is really nice i zoomed out then the reverb came and my brain was amazed! If you could use custom sounds that would be intense! Maybe have the option of starting stoping sync or mixer for sounds... really cool thanks

You make it what you want. If you focus real hard you make anything.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. An inventive and beautiful new interface for a new digital instrument. Fun to play with, and since you can record, musicians can use them as samples. What I love is that this interface gives you a glimpse what interfaces might be like in the future. Totally original.

A magical experience, taken away from by its inability to save your composition.

The sounds are not that musical, hard to pin down a good melody and after a while drives one insane. Good concept. Node beat is better

Amazing aap. It would be good if you could add some tutorials on how to make sync sound.

I wish the instructions would be relaunchable after you dismiss them on first run.

What an amazing way to create soothing rhythms and samples! The idea is fresh and amazingly well executed. Plus it's free and ad free! This dev deserves recognition. Top quality app. Thanks! :)
