Splashtop 2 Remote Desktop

This is the best remote desktop app by far. I've been using it since the iPad 2 came out across iOS, Android, Dex, macOS, and iPadOS. Super responsive, scales the screen to every device, and very reliable. Other apps are very laggy and okay in a pinch but with Splashtop it feels like the device and OS you've removed into is running natively on your connecting device. Very impressive.

10+ years customer, never had any issues, but since a few weeks/months(?) it takes a long time to connect to my devices through the app (15-30 sec), but this used to be almost instant (max 5 sec). The desktop client is still fast with connecting as always.

good enough!. but bad visual render for scaled screen (i also found it in other app), its supposed to do auto fit scale screen for rotated PC screen or and add button for auto fit to phone screen and also for actual PC screen resolution

Not as advertised. This app can not initiate a connection between two devices on your local network without first calling home over the internet.

Have been using this for years. Add custom on-screen widgets for android phones please. For now it's just limited to tablets.

Great app. No problems so far. Wish they didn't charge for access outside your network, but hey.

I saw a reviewer suggest that Microsoft's remote access software is better. It's not even close. Or that I should use google remote desktop for chrome. Well, I'm running the latest chromeos on a chromebook and the latest version of chrome and I can't change the mouse mode so I can just use the mouse pad or mouse on my chromebook to properly control my pc. GET Splashtop Personal for LAN desktop sharing. It's perfect.

Don't even waste your time with this app, it's absolutely useless without paying for it and the desktop version will install and run software in the background without your knowledge or with the main app running. There are better options than this, better choices than this. I thought this would be a good alternative to upgrading my windows license to pro so I could use Remote Desktop, but I had nothing but headaches and a desire for basic features that it locks away behind a paywall like the ability to transmit sound from whatever machine you may be attempting to connect to and manage.

Very good but needs an alternate mouse click option. In various applications (mostly games) a tap is not recognised as a click most of the time, possibly because it needs the mouse button to be "held down" for a millisecond or so and/or needs to send both a "mouse down" and a "mouse up" event.

Just what I wanted! I almost didn't download because reviews were (INCORRECTLY) saying you couldn't control the remote computer. Huh? That would make this almost useless. But it works just as well as going desktop to desktop! I use it in landscape mode, and my PC screen is perfectly represented. I have thus far only used it on the same network (in my home), but will try from an outside network and see how responsive it is. So far though, this is an *awesome* app! Works great on phone over 4G!

So far so good. It's the most responsive remote desktop software I've used thus far. EDIT: This app is awesome! Does everything I need it to do in real time with good picture quality, audio, and it works from anywhere since I paid for the yearly subscription. I just have one gripe about it and that's the fact that it doesn't work with trackpads. I have a Tab S7 with a keyboard case and the trackpad scroll just moves the mouse around instead of scrolling. I have to use a bluetooth mouse instead.

This app allows you to access and control another computer remotely. It does well at displaying the remote screen and navigating using touch inputs. Unfortunately it does not have file transfer capabilities in the Personal version. Therefore I would not recommend this app for anything other than basic functions. TeamViewer is a much better option. Additionally, Splashtop is comparatively expensive because, surprisingly, in the free version you can only access other computers on the same LAN.

It works great when it works. I've been using it for a few days now and my only issue is after 2-3 mins of streaming, it gradually slows down up to the point that the screen stops refreshing at all. I'd have to keep reconnecting for it be usuable. This happens on both local over the wan. Is there a fix to this? Other than that issue, it does what I need it to do. Controls are pretty easy and its easy to use.

Stopped working. I've used this app for years. But over the past few months, it hasn't worked well. First, the remote keyboards special keys (CTRL, etc.) stopped functioning. Tech support couldn't solve it. Now, when it connects to my PC, I only get a black screen. So, now, it's useless. Too bad, it used to be excellent. 11/12/20 UPDATE. Had to turn off screen blanking in Splashtop Streamer on my PC to be able to access my PC again. This had been working. Still 2 stars.

I've had a good experience so far. I've tested 3 different remote apps. First, I tried Microsoft's RD Client. It was way better than I expected with ultra smooth gesture controls and quick responses. It is unfortunately limited to local network. Second, I tried the tried TeamViewer. It works very well, and is easy to set up, but it is not meant to work is situations that require graphics like light point and click gaming. This one's a very good balance. And they have a right to earn money.

Great app and does what you need, may be some lag between PC and phone/tablet (1.5-1.8 second lag between touch and pointer) but that's to be expected. Only update I really want to see is a "controls" feature where you can load only an external mouse and keyboard, the sound on PC won't automatically be muted or play through your phone, just the option to have a trackpad or keyboard without anything else playing on your phone.

Great. Love the way it mirrors my screen, giving click or mouse option. I'd like to be able to switch the audio from the app rather than on screen and also be able to switch off the screen on my phone, so it's not always wasting my battery while I'm watching on my main screen. Overall I'm really happy with this app. It beat my expectations.

SCAM! BEWARE!! I bought this app for a 2 week trip overseas, and I only expected to pay once. Months later I noticed multiple odd charges which revealed the I had somehow subscribed to monthly payments of $4.99. Might not sound like much, but it adds up really quick. Not to mention its for an app I haven't used since my vacation, and even then it didn't work correctly... Now I'm stuck with this app(which appears to hide any unsubscribing options). Currently reaching out to google play store.

This app has the best balance of features for an RDC I've found so far, and I've tried a lot of em. Most RDCs are almost great but missing one thing, either they have no sound or really poor frame rate/compression or poor controls. This one has everything I wanted and even some stuff I didn't know I wanted all in one.

Very good This app is great, deliver excellent results and recommended for use. My only problem is it needs a working internet to connect. It should be made to connect even where there's no internet connection or services. Besides, it doesn't support landscape mode on phone. Anytime I want to rotate it, it doesn't. Kindly work on it.

This app works not well, but adequately in most cases. Even with advanced processing speeds though, it still pales in comparison to old school logmein on the desktop. If you are thinking about getting the app and integrating it with the remote desktop client, you're likely to be disappointed. There's a lot of lag in the mobile client, but compared to the desktop one, even on the same network, it's fast. I use the mobile one on both a Pixel 3XL and a Samsung Tab Nook, and on those, I can usually get something done, but it will take about twice as long - the interface is nice, and it isn't that hard to get used to - big points for designing something well, I just wish that it were more responsive, and I really wish that the desktop client would work well without my having to minimize the window and then switch back just to get the screen to update. A hint to those using this on mobile - if it looks like it's frozen, switch away and then come back. It seems to have a terrible problem keeping up with what's going on in some instances.

I've tried many of the other remote desktop viewers and this one i actually ended up paying for. It's awesome. The main thing i stuck with this one for is, it allows me to actually use my wireless mouse and keyboard from android to my windows pc as expected. On other remote desktop software from android my mouse's right click would never work correctly. Absolutely loving this app.

After working beautifully I suddenly could not get a connection no matter what I tried. I spent a whole day reinstalling, resetting the tablet, router and camera and trying all different combinations of the Onvier settings and nearly gave up. Then I thought to disconnect my VPN which was set to auto-connect and bingo. No more problems and working perfectly all the time. A more network savy person would probably have sorted it out quickly but I hope this might possibly help someone else.

I pay an annual subscription to this service, and now all of a sudden, I'm required to put a security code in my phone from the computer. If I was able to do that, I wouldn't have paid to remote access the stupid thing. Won't be renewing if it can't be relied on when I need it most. I've had the app using it for years, and never touch the settings. Still to this day, haven't touched them. I can access mostly. Way to say user error in your comment though. Makes me want to drop it altogether

I've been using this app more than 8 years and I can't even think of a single down fall Update , I've been reading a bunch of the reviews and seeing some negatives put up recently. Most of what I've seen , admit it or not has-been user error. I've used this in other country's while my laptop is sitting in Texas from my phone a out of all the years I've used it never a problem im a musician and I've been on stage in front of thousands and stream my music and sang and played harmonica with it ..

This is a wonderful product. Much better than other free remote app I come across. This one doesn't "freeze" after Android OS goes into sleep mode or u temporary leave it to carry out some other tasks. I highly recommend this one. With it, u can even watch entire movie on your Android phone.
