box is already set up. our 2 devices REFUSE to connect to the box, more often than not. box is set up in the ONLY area we can put it, that gets a 'good' signal (no excellent ANYWHERE in our house, despite nearest tower being 1.4 miles away!.) as it's to large to put anywhere else, without being at risk of being broken, or becoming an eyesore. box when first set up, had steller speeds. then after 3 days, REFUSED to lock to a 4glte signal. also App has to be forced closed. no exit option!
New to Sprint and very unhappy. Recently switched to Sprint from Verizon and have had nothing but issues sense, and now this new "magic box" that the app wont let you finish setup. It wont run the speed test just keeps saying unavailable even after reinstalling the app. Also while connected to the "magic box" I have no internet which I bet is due to unable to finish install. fix your app.
This app and that box are a reminder of how much time and energy I have wasted on 19 years as a Sprint customer trying to get Sprint to improve the service they provide to me. The box is worthless and does not connect to my phone. The app is no better than a number of tools out there and does nothing to remediate a problem other than repeating the same failed process.
Magic box will not go beyond 39% within first phase of set-up. Apparently it can not locate a tower. (Code 30) I thought that this device was supposed to improve quality, not further demoralize and have long time Sprint customers asking "Why". The merger has made my Note 9 rather useless in my area for Data consumption. Well played. I believe that it is time to move on to a different carrier.
I've been with Sprint for over 10 years and their customer service has been helpful, warm, friendly, and professional from day one. Any issue or problem was addressed and resolved quite quickly. I am currently having a problem with the Magic Box and will be contacting Sprint shortly. Will update review after speaking to someone in customer service.
Sprint coverage in Ballard, WA is so bad. I'm 0.38 miles away from a tower but I have WEAK SIGNAL strength and quality. And the Speed Test is unable / cannot connect to the server. I've lost job opportunities and family chats because of calls dropped, texts and calls never received, somehow since there is no service I all of a sudden don't have a voicemail or the phone number doesn't exist more often than not.
Well, when I first plugged in and set up, which was 2 days ago, Signal Strength was GOOD. Then, I saw the AD for this App. Well, IT worked until I go to TEST. Each time I select TEST HERE, I am prompted to TURN OFF WIFI. Well, I do not have/use WiFi. I have an unlimited data plan; which by the way worked Splendidly until a week ago, UNTIL GLOBAL 5G started being implemented. Now, Le IN TER NET IS SLLOOOWWWWW like never before! ALL MY APPS on my New Ipad Pro 11 are To Slow +Samsung Galaxy 9Edge!
I try to do the speed test, tells me to turn off the wifi, it's already off, then I get web page error, no internet connection. Nothing but issues with signal strength for several months. Magic box isn't helping, neither did Pebble. Guess I need a new company
Very poor application. Does not work. Tried many times to get pass the test now window, sends me to an error window page. Tried many times by resetting Magic Box. No connection. Tried all options given to connect my device, still not able to connect.
Junk! Anything and everything that is made by Sprint is absolute junk. We got stuck in a contract with him and our data speed is .02 mb per second. I do not recommend anything that has to do with Sprint particularly any of their ancient apps.
This thing really is useless. It either doesn't find a server or tells me to turn off WiFi even though I don't have WiFi and only use mobile data. It points to the cell tower correctly but that's it. Much better apps
Isn't working on Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus webpage not available net::ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED I have had all iterations of the magic box. my Gen 2 failed and I was sent a Magic Box Gold. Was going to use ethernet backhaul but that doesn't work, wifi backhaul gives me a limited connection error (it shouldn't) and so I figured I would give this app a try before i just tossed the box in the same spot as before. I'm willing to try again since I work for you. App up to date as of 03/20/2019.
Sprint is terrible. I should know better than to download any of their apps. Receptions is always terrible and every time I open this app it force closes. Time to find a new carrier. Been with them for 19 yrs and service gets worse every year
Sprint Network is the worst service EVER! I have terrible service always buffering and loading with a Brand New Samsung Note 9 My phone feels like A dinosaur! Also when a phone call comes through I lose my internet connection which causes me to miss out on job opportunities if a call comes through! SPRINT SUCKSSSSS
It flat out doesn't do anything correct. And no matter where I am at in the town, county, or state, it says a cell tower is 1.58 miles away. Which I know is not true in relation to where I live. There are two sprint towers near me and I know their locations and the arrow never points towards either one of them. Sprint in general is horrible, and if I didn't still owe money on my device I'd switch to verizon in a heart beat. Sprint should just give up and close their doors.
Its a complete waste of time .... Keep on saying to turnoff Wifi, even it is not turned on. AT&t, Verizon even T-Mobile users are getting signals in my work. Not sprint. Better change to Verizon.
Completely useless for setting up the magic box in my case as the very few spots where my phone does get good signal strength and quality the box in the same exact spot will pick up nothing.
Crappie app that cannot see the device that is three feet away. The same device setup assistant has no problem communicating with. As far as I can tell the whole thing is worthless
I keep trying to set up and can't get past check your speed. Upload keeps saying a socket error occurred during upload test, try again later. And later it still doesn't work.
Nothing work properly on Sprint Network. My Samsung Galaxy A50 from Sprint is set to Auto network, and it is so stupid because it doesn't work when I travel from city to another city :) When I am home, I can barely make phone calls or be heard, so I use WhatsApp fo calling my family. Lame network and cellphone.
Worked for me. Ran the utility in multiple rooms, then picked the best. Then the app shows me the improvement the Magic Box makes. Pretty simple.
Super flaky for setting up the magic box. UX is really glitchy, and it had trouble actually finishing speed tests to complete installation of the device.
Works as well as Sprint, not very. Why send these magig boxes out when they don't even work? I am sitting within a mile of a cell tower and I get a whopping 1mb download on the unlimited plan. A prepaid service would be better than this 300 a month garbage.
App won't load the Location Testing page. The blue circle just spins and spins for 2 hours straight last night and 45 minutes so far this morning.
I Just installed my Sprint Magic Box Gold, and it's working fine. I used the Sprint Network Tool to find the best location for the best connection in the house and I followed the instructions & it's done.
After several restarts and repeat steps, all I get during the upload speed test is "UPLOAD SPEED TEST; A socket error occurred during the Upload test. Please try again later. So far, don't like it.
DOES NOT WORK DOES NOT DESCRIBE HOW USELESS THIS APP HAS BECOME, I TAKE MY STAR BACK BECAUSE IN MY EXPERIENCE THE APP DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE IN ANYWAY TO HELP FIND A LOCATION FOR MAGIC BOX NOR HELPING YOU CONNECT TO IT! I EVEN MOVED TO DIFFERENT CITY WITH IT, MAGIC BOX APP P.O.S. NEEDS TO GET FULL UPGRADE! DEVELOPERS GET WITH THE PROGRAM FIX THIS ISSUES 2.5 RATING ON THE APP FOR A MULTI MILLION DOLLAR CELL AND DATA SERVICE COMPANY IN U.S. IS EMBARRASSING FOR BELOW SERVICE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS
Totally worthless. Does not work with Android 10, and that makes the box worthless.
There's no 0 star option. Fixed? net::ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED. Now I get a socket error occured during the upload test. Great job Sprint I think you still need to pay me!
Just like everything else being a disappointment with being with Sprint, this app is a waste. I attempted to go through the steps of setting up my Magic Box, but it keep giving an error message. I've tried several times now and still the same outcome. Y'all can save this mess right here! Ugh I'm so damn over Sprint! The worst!!!!
