Spritz reader

Average readers are the majority and only reach around 200 wpm with a typical comprehension of 60%.

With the Spritz reader, people can start reading from a standard speed - 300 words per minute. And gradually increase to 1000 words per minute or more.

I've learned using this software in a quiet but not totally silent environment works best. Set your lighting low so that you can concentrate on just the screen and put the phone on something that will tilt it up so that you don't have to hold it. I have hundreds of books in my kindle and I've been able to start reading them much faster at approximately 400 words per minute and comprehend probably 80 to 90%.

I'm already a speed reader and so I didn't need this for that. But it has increased my reading speed tremendously. Mainly though, it decreases distractability and eye strain, which are the real perks.

Unusable. If you touch anywhere else on the screen - even just to stop it locking out after a certain time - the entire spritz window disappears along with all of your progress, list forever.

On my Pixel the notification to use it never appeared, rendering it utterly unusable. As to why it couldn't use the share menu and instead weirdly went notification only, I have no idea.

App is just a basic preview of the pro version. The tutorial is super simple. The screenshot is basically all there is.

Useless, (most likely my phone, but still). I read around 900 words per minute usually, so I thought with this I could go over 1000. It lags so bad that it shows 1 word every 600ms to 800ms, of which they all belong to different sentences. This app can't even do 900wpm. SMH.

I got this for speed reading articles. It'd be a godsend... If it ever frigging worked. You copy the text like it says, no notification comes up.

Buy to read books. Wow.

Any writing I want to skim - scientific or news or science fiction - I skim hella quick now. Doing some basic SAT reading comprehension tests after having ONLY skim-read the relevant text using this application, I found my reading comprehension to be about average, by their meausre. So using this application at 800 words/minute, reading comprehension was at about an "average high schooler doing online SAT preparation" level. AFAIK, that's comprehension enough for a relatively effective, quick first skim of something scientific. For most of the fluffy news writing one comes across, however, even THAT much comprehension might be enough to make you disillusioned with the state of pop journalism. Use wisely.

The copy paste may be helpful but what if you can include a text converter that change words in pic to words in screen..

If you want or need to consume a large quantity of written communication on a regular basis, this is a game changer.

So I'm supposed to copy and paste entire books into this? You can't open a book through the app? That's idiotic.

It's a great thing they are trying to do

It's nice

This app is a fantastic idea, but unfortunately it's not well supported for reading news articles. There's no way to import articles into the app and when you do, things like hyphens and ellipses easily break it by pushing words onto multiple lines. Also unfortunately a lot of junk gets copied in because of the way selecting works on Android. To be clear I know that's Android's fault and not the app's, but it still makes the app just that much more annoying to use. All in all, the time it takes to copy text into the app absolutely offsets the time saved by using it.

I would totally use it but there's no way to reduce the font size which is a deal breaker for me. Any long word goes on a second row and breaks my concentration. If I could change the font size I'd definitely recommend this to others.

Perfect and simple. This is exactly what I was looking for to speed up my reading, and the functionality and accessibility make it all the more enjoyable, as it's not only an individual app, but a third party service. Thanks!

Amazing app but could use some PDF reader or at least some txt options to help read long books.

Need to be able to either read in landscape, adjust the size of text, or just make better use of screen size. I tried using this to speed read technical documents and it continuously cut off words and hyphenated them, making it impossible to keep up with. I do like the thing in the notification bar, but the limit on long words makes it useless for me.
