Charles Spurgeon was an English Baptist preacher, well known for his sermons.

Spurgeon, “The Prince of Preachers” was born in Essex in 1834. He was baptized and began to serve in a Baptist Church.

When he was 20, he became pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel in London, the largest Baptiste congregation at the time. He preached there for 38 years.

His style and ability as a preacher made him famous in a few months. His sermons were published every week and had a high circulation.
By the date of his death, in 1892, he had preached more than 3000 sermons and had written plenty of commentaries, anecdotes, and devotions.

His weekly sermons are still one of the best-selling series of writings in history.

Love the Spurgeon commentary and the simple layout. Wish the voice was different on the audio part lol but it's still a good app

I generally like the app but the ads are obnoxiously obtrusive. 3 stars is generous.

It's a nice app,you don't need to worry thar you don't carry a bible but you can read it on your phone.

I'm enjoying the content and layout but there's a Glitch which causes the app to lose my place while I'm reading. Slightest touch to random parts of the screen takes me back or forward by a chapter when I'm swiping up to read further down the page, or sometimes I haven't touched the page at all. It's almost like a timer. Also, I thought I would be able to change the background color. I prefer darker so I don't use this app as much as I'd like to because the bright white bothers my eyes.

It makes it easy to understand the Bible because the commentary is clear and insightful.

Informative and easy to use.

Not as advertised The Spurgeon content is hit-and-miss. Many books, especially in the OT, have NO commentary at all. Also, there is a permanent ad displayed at the bottom of every screen, constantly. Not a very nice accompaniment to reading the word of God.

This program/app was very good, along with 2 other Bible programs I used for 3 years, from this provider, until suddenly each one stopped working, flashing off and on while I was trying to read. They recently, and suddenly were plagued with many bugs, such that even my operating system reported that each program stopped because they had bugs. It appears this is a product of the programmers seeking the personal data of their users, over and above, making their program work proper for the users.

Very good app.. And I really do love it since its great for studying verse by verse.. But while scrolling it most times swipes over to another chapter and it gets frustrating.. And please do remove the ads.. They are amazingly distracting.. And It would be great if it could have a better interface..

Advertises as a commentary, but is very light on comments from Chas. Spurgeon. What it is not light on is ads. Nothing brings you closer to God than having your study time interrupted with a pitch for real estate or solar energy options in your area. There seem to be at least three of these apps in the store; and all function exactly the same. Garish ads blinking at the bottom, then a complete redirect to and ad thar has to be closed after a 5 second wait period. Same developer? Uninstalling.

Annoying ads, pages pages flip without warning. I'd be reading one page, an ad would "take over", then I'd find myself on another page. Had to uninstall. Other than the experience of using it, great material.

This is a great app for anyone who wants to dig a little deeper into God's Word with one of our most revered historical theologians. Spurgeon's comments on selected scriptures never fail to inspire worship of our holy, loving, omniscent God. (My only negative comment is to the mechanics of the app which is not as smooth and user friendly as other Bible apps I have; and, of course, the ads)

I LOVE the content, but the app makes my phone (Pixel 2) very hot and often stops responding randomly. It also randomly jumps to the previous chapter and becomes very slow to scroll about half way through each page.

On the daily Bible verse that pops up each day needs to be highlighted in a brighter color so I can see it. It's highlighted in a dark green. This needs to be changed to a brighter color. For the rest all is good. Navigation & all. Thank you.

I Love Spurgeon.... However the Commercials come up during Reading and when finished goes to the next Chapter so i have to Constantly scroll back to where i was only to be interrupred by more Ads.. The app has potential but the Ads are enough to test anyone to their limits....

Awesome app. Only problem is it keeps swiping left or right to the next chapter when I swipe up and down through verses. then I have to come back and try to find my place again. Kinda annoying, but overall good app!

JIM. M. Jul 14, 2019

This app is in immediate need for editing and revision. Not only do your commentaries not match the scripture they are listed under, ex. I look up Corinthians Chapter 11 to find the commentary for Corinthians Chapter 10, but the scripture references used do not match the commentary so if I look up the scripture reference I don't receive any additional insight. It is already difficult to accurately interpret scripture, and I downloaded this app for additional assistance. Currently it's failing.

Fantastic having Spurgeon's notes to help us understand and apply Scripture. I am not thrilled with the ads; however, the ads make the app free, so it's a minor issue and well-worth it.

Portions of app not working on tablet. No information for subscription cost. Cannot find for my iPhone.

How to change the Bible version/translation? I'm stuck on New Living. So frustrating. Should not be this difficult

Ela. M. Mar 8, 2021

I was studying John 12 but the app kept jumping either back to chap 11 or ahead to 13. Of course, when i went back to chap 12 it started at verse one so i had to contiuously scroll down to verse 41 or wherever i was currently at. Was very time consuming just to keep my place and frankly, quite annoying.

eye. f. Mar 12, 2022

Last update broke it. All the text is nonsense

Ton. A. Oct 6, 2021

I really like the content, but when scrolling down the app will often turn to the next chapter. It's infuriating to continually have to go back and find where I was earlier.

How. P. Oct 31, 2019

Functionally useless, when you try to get as far as Mt. 5:22-27. Without the page skipping to another chapter or annoying ads popping up. And then it takes you to verse 1 again.

This Bible app has really helped me in my walk with my Lord Jesus. Praise Him!
