Good but timecard option sucks Used to be able to see timecard for any day. Now default is past payroll and when you go select different date or range it goes back to default. Please update.
Still figuring out tax stuff but tonight I had stopped at a few unexpected errands and realized I had 30 minutes to get home to run payroll. Then I used the ap and was done 8n about 10 minutes!
One of the the most relevant features I need is in the time card portion of payroll management. I could not find a way to add a shift. I still had to go to the full desk version of the square dashboard to add a shift. If there is a way, I could not find it which is just as ineffective. I will change my review if this feature is simplified.
Have used for about 6 months. Have a constant message that FL Tax Reemployment Number is incorrect. As a result, quarterly filings are not filed and the funds for it are returned to my account. Customer service advised to use all 1s and it would be fine. It is not. The app has issues. If pay amount differs from "regular" the change will not save and it has to be done from a computer. Was also promised 1 month free trial multiple times, which I never received. Will be changing payroll services
Just bought a new Chromebook 3 specifically for work to be able to access this app. Imagine my surprise and frustration when I received the message "nor compatible with your device". I use it on my phone and tablet but wanted the larger screen for ease of use. I am not happy about this.
I like this app. I'm a new small business owner and getting everything set up was fairly straightforward, I didnt have to print tax forms or anything and they set themselves up for direct deposit. I can complete payroll after reviewing a few clicks and it's done, and for cheaper than I have seen elsewhere.
Absolutely useless. I've tried signing up using my primary email account and it is not accepting it. I've tried signing up through my job when I got employed, and just now when I need the information at hand. I've read other users have had the same issue. I figured a password reset request would at the least tell me if my email was in use at all, but it's been two hours and I havent received that email at all. Great job!
Love it. Square is great. Our business uses Square for Payroll, it is very simple to use. I have tried using other very popular apps and it has always been a struggle. We added the payroll portion January first and it has been a breeze. We have used Square for credit card processing since 2012. They have always been great to work with.
Good system to use. Any payroll system will pay for itself every month. Rounding 10 minutes here, 5 minutes extra lunch, leave 10 minutes early, it adds up over time. I hate to be nitpicky, but I'm running a business, not subsidizing paychecks by being a nice guy. I wish the app had some features like the Online Dashboard has. I should be able to view & change clock-in & clock-out times from the app, not have to go to my computer. It should all be integrated into one app with extensions.
For the past few weeks, the app doesn't load at all for me on my LG V30. Just loads to a plain, blank white page. Clearly not helpful, can't do payroll from it. Edit: After Square reached out on here, I submitted my report through their link and was told I'd hear back within 24-48 hours. It's been a month and I've heard absolutely nothing back, and my app still doesn't work.
There's a learning curve - but Square can make your life much easier when running a business. It's so easy to check what's happening when you're off site. Revenue & sales, employee hours, even payroll can be done or checked up to the minute quickly on your cell phone!
Its straightforward, the reason why I only give it four stars is because you cannot set specific dates it's very cumbersome that way. The fees are reasonable, a lot more reasonable than another one that I was looking at, and it's pretty simple once you figure it out.
It needs and update or something. ive always known square apps to be good but this one is just off. Not good. Sent couple emails and called but no fix. Same for the Unemployment tax account number new business registrations are not qualified for an account till after first quarter, was advised to put 1's but that is not working. Sends me email to fix account. When i try to process payroll, still deducts unemployment tax . Moved on looking for a diifferent service. Really dissappointed.
User friendly and has made my ownership so much simpler
Garbage, you cannot modify timecards for the current day. What happens when an employee forgets to clock in for the day? Guess what, you can't modify. You have to wait several days! There are no support avenues withing the app; you have to Google a damn number. This is ridiculous, and I'm strongly considering moving services to a different provider.
Cancelled my account for no reason. Try Gusto or Remote Payroll instead. Excellent customer service and affordable with a lot of the same features (payroll only). Homebase is my go to for free time clocking solutions (your welcome 🤗😁)
I looked forward to getting started but! The registration process wont accept my email address as valid even though it's my email address I have had it for years no one has ever had any problems with it but! for some reason this app says it aint no good So now what ? I am disappointed as hell. This app is no good to me
I've been using square for credit cards since the beginning and was very happy they started to offer payroll services. Super easy to use and my employees love it as well. I no longer have to pay my accountant to do all my payroll taxes for me. Square does a great job and I don't have to worry about it anymore.
This app is confusing to set up. It doesn't let you pay commission, so it is pointless for me, but there is no way to know that before I was half way through setting up my account. Now I can't figure out how to close my account and ensure I'm not charged.
Love the service. Easy, seamless. Would like more options to deduct advances and misc payroll deductions from staff and contractors. In the meantime, this service is a great small business solution.
My computer went down in the middle of payroll so I wasn't sure how I was going to get it done but thanks to your app I got it finished on my phone! So glad I had that option. Easy to use as well...I think I like the mobile app better. Thanks
There is zero customer service with square. In order to get help with my employees payroll I have to submit a request and someone is supposed to call within 24 hours...but I put in a request on Thursday and didn't hear from anyone on Friday and it's now Saturday so I'm not anticipating a call. It's unacceptable for me to not have live customer support when it comes to something as important as employees getting their paychecks.
I think this one could be a winner if they could get deductions correct for your local, state and federal. They need to keep it cheap and mahe it more reliable.
Worse payroll service i have ever used. I can't get anyone on the phone I contacted support by email several time with no response. I don't know what else to do? I used square for payroll I ran payroll once they deducted the money from my bank account then notified me that is being deactivated?? I sent them the information requested but it didn't matter they deactivated my account anyway now they still have my money and this happened 2 months ago 2/5/2021. I hope this gets through to someone.
Awful. Do NOT use this payment system. It is INCREDIBLY easy to make errors and INCREDIBLY hard to get information. It has no flexibility whatsoever and plain old SUCKS. AND their Customer Service admits to all of these failures, but can't do anything about it. You were warned kiddos.
Everything you used to need to hire an accountant for. Makes starting a business and hiring and paying employees very easy, with all the proper forms filed and taxes paid.
Irritated. Will NOT save settings and continually says something went wrong and refresh and there's not even a refresh option and I can't even get my payroll done!!!! NEEDS FIXING!
Really simple and intuitive. Need to be able to review time cards live in the app though please soon.
Square is a total fraud. They take your money and keep it. I have a problem with them for 6 months now that they refuse to solve. They do not respond to any email or they don't provide any access code for phone calls. Please don't trust them.
Has some glitches. When I got to pay employees. Sometimes I have to enter information several times and close ap out and go back in to see if it updated.
