Generally a very good app. Easy to use. My only complaints are 1. The contactless chip reader is very persnickety. It's sometime difficult to pair, especially if it has been used with another device previously. Also, my brand new chip reader kept shutting down the app when we tried to run a transaction. We ended up having to use the swipe reader instead, which is less secure. 2. Not every device has a "this device only" option for reading sales reports.

Every time I try to open the app, my phone freezes. I have to do a hard restart on my phone every time- I can make it to the first page after login and then it stops. I have a Samsung S21 Ultra that's fully up to date. So I'm not sure whats happening but it's incredibly frustrating considering I need to set up my square.

At the moment I am very unhappy with Square. It is going offline and not working. I have turned the phone off and on. It works once then stops again. I uninstalled the app then reinstalled. Now won't recognise at all. I can't find any real support or reason. Angry! Losing several sales.

I would like to see more user friendly portions for clients when booking appointments. Lately some are saying they can't book or sign in. Then can't save their card on file. Also would like an option for clients to request reoccurring appointments for the year. So I don't have to do it. And if they chose a time that is booked 1 or 2 app. out of 26 tell them the dates and times are not available and choose a different date. waiting list for dates. Text them when a time opens on that date.

I am enjoying the app. I do wish that once a convenience Fee has been created, that there were an option to apply it automatically on the POS and online. I appreciate the offline payment option as well! One tweak to that would be that it automatically records the person's card info, just incase the payment doesn't go through when connection is available, you can attempt to re-charge the card without the person present.

Unable to take tap and go payment despite uodating app. Tried on 2 Samsung phones. Cannot see the 1 green light on device after selecting 'charge". It says an app is needed to use the reader. I have the recent version of the app and the reader is paired to my phone.

I usually don't leave reviews for apps very much. When I do it's either bad or a really good app. And this is a really good app. Easy to use, I can access all my accounts in one place and I've never had any issues. I love square and the services they provide for small businesses.

All of sudden I am getting an error: "Reader Unavailable; secure session denial" I called support and they convinced me that I need a new reader. 3 days later after paying for fast shipping I get the new reader and try and connect and get the same message. This is completely ridiculous, I now have 2 readers that don't work and customer service clearly can't help me. I wonder if there are any other companies that can provide better service with their POS systems? it was working fine last week

DO NOT USE !!! Support is useless. Used this a few years ago but moved to other payment system. Our account got hacked a few weeks ago. We tried to get support to disable our account but they said we had to go online and do it. A debit card then showed up and our bank account that was linked was drained. Contacted support again and they said we needed to open a new ticket. Contacted our bank and they disabled it. DO NOT USE

Love the product, programing can be a challenge for getting layers into it but basic programing is easy. I sell products that need 1 or 2 taps of layers (popcorn, type, kind) so programint it can be a pain but its nice once its done.

The only thing the app is missing for me is a solution for a dedicated business phone line. Most of my customers call me and I don't like giving out my personal number. I like the square app the best out of all others but would really like to see y'all offer business's a dedicated phone line service.

Horrible software and horrible. As an old computer engineer I can almost always navigate every softare package I have ever used. There is no logic in the design of this software. Many options are in obscure pages where one would never think to look. Also, dicounting inappropriately discounts liquor which, if used, violates Texas law.

Originally had some issues with my square displaying a "rooted" error message regarding connection but after a LOT of troubleshooting I discovered that an antivirus protection app on my device was conflicting with my square app. Once I changed a setting through my antivirus protection things worked for a while. It's great having the money in your account next day but this product is so unreliable.

Would be nice to see the android app work as well as the iOS app. It is very annoying to view transactions and have each one take you back to the start of the list when closing it.

The app will not update on my tablet and I have to use my personal phone to run credit cards. It stopped working in the middle of an event and I lost sales as a result. The app needs to notify if it needs updated especially if its going to just stop working all the sudden.

There’s been a delay activating your account!!! Since I bought one of your card readers it has been nothing but a nightmare to set it up. "Due to an unexpected third-party system outage, there’s been a short delay in activating your account for card processing. We expect this to be resolved soon. In the meantime, you can accept cash payments or get started in the app" This is all I get at set up. What's going on?

Way too nosey. I just wanted to charge a customer for art but transaction got suspended asking me for business certificates and my ID and all this BS. And then I had to issue a refund and wait for the money to go back into my customer's card and find a different way for him to send me money. I wanted to venmo but my customer is old so I thought I'd give this a try but it made things way more complicated

Good except for card reader which was always hit or miss and now just won't connect. Support just tell you to update the app but that didn't fix it so their next solution was for me to buy a new phone. Clearly not acceptable as all my other apps work. Thus I now use another provider with a card reader that works and just send occasional payment links with Square. Such a shame as the ecommerce tools are great as are the sales reports. If they just had a reliable card reader it would be 5 stars.

Chip reader for remote with Bluetooth has connection issues. Left rear pocket is where I keep my phone and right front pocket is my chip reader and keeps getting disconnected and I loose $ customers because of it. I have a slider reader, only it insists I use chip reader.

We have two businesses which we use Square. No issues todate. though appointments now cost money as they rolled back a feature we used. and put it in to the paid subscription. Otherwise we haven't had any chargebacks and the payments to our account seemed to happen with in about 48 hours. the fees are minimal which stripe and other processors charge regardless. zero monthly fees (unless subscribed to extra services like invoice plus or appointments standard or pro)

Been in support for 3 days now. Account does not work and they have no answers...they've even logged in themselves and cannot provide answers. I don't receive emails. Can't register my card. And the app is basically on lockdown mode....I'm literally getting frontal lobe headaches due to the amount of time spent with not one productive answer towards a solution. Near giving up but I'm trying to hold out...I just don't know what to do anymore...

I used to really like Square, but recently they made some changes that have made it not so user friendly and for some reason it's loading much more slowly. On one of my phones it will no longer work. I get an "offline" notice. And they've added a per transaction fee. :(

Simple and easy to use. Anyone can use it! Only issue we've encountered is frequently when updates occur many devices stop working until Square fixes with patches. Which can really hurt a small business when half their active machines go down. We've learned to wait several weeks before updating to reduce the problems.

Square froze my third transaction ever apparently because I was out of state. I live near the state line and I do business in multiple States. The reader never worked so i have to manually enter all transactions. This has been much more of a hassle than I ever wanted I was only looking for an extra way for clients to pay that was easy. I absolutely hate dealing with this company and I'm canceling my account.

HORRIBLE customer service. My account wasn't approved for card processing and I called customer service to try and figure out why, apparently once it's denied, it's final and can't be changed, and they wouldn't tell me why, just that I cannot use their services and refused to answer any other questions I had. Horrendous.

Recent convert. A lot of work needed to populate the inventory, but really worth it. Seamless functioning for both on line and on site sales. Love the terminal's wee receipts printer too. It holds it's battery charge really well to, but it does take getting used to so as to get the mobile hotspot sorted when that goes wrong. (Take notes!) As for the website editing, ok, not the trendiest perhaps, but even I can work it. And all that for less money than I was paying before. So, no brainer really!
