SSE - Universal Encryption App

An excellent cross platform encryption app for Android and Windows app. It encrypts files and folders in a jiffy! Also, it can be used online. Perfectly secure, reliable, fast and light. And to get all these features for free is a wonderful gift from the developer(s). For these reasons I would have given a 7 star rating if there's one (and I am always stingy with my app ratings). My regards to the developer(s)! 💯

I use the Pro version under both Android and Windows. This is an incredibly well-integrated and intuitive set of tools for users who are patiently willing and able to experiment. I have had several decades of detailed computing experience. Over time, I have successfully worked my way through nearly all of the available options for this multi-faceted application, and I am comfortable that I understand the rules of operation. It works for me as advertised.

I’ve been using this for years now on an Android phone, an ipad mini and a desktop. Works great. I’ve never lost data except when I misplaced a password. If you’re going to encrypt notes to place somewhere like Google Drive, ensure that there are no blank spaces before or after the text, or it will not decrypt. You could be typing in the password correctly all day, thinking you failed. NO SPACES. I have some occasional strangeness on the ipad mini with rendering at the bottom of the screen, but everything works. A wonderful app. Thank you for creating it.

First encryption app. Since then I've tried multiple programs on various platforms both paid & free. However, I always ended up using Paranoia Works more. They did the same things the other's did, if not more; had a user-friendly interface, useful information in the help section, great cross-platform compatibility, and they had the best price for all that functionality - Free & Ad Free, and a low one-time price for pro.

Really really good. One suggestion would be to rename the sample folders in the Password Vault: 'click to view' could be renamed 'A tip: click to view' and the icon could be changed to the lightbulb. The letter 'a' is to keep it at the top (A-Z). Thanks to the developer for all the effort put into this, it's great! Edit: Thanks for implementing my little GUI suggestion.

This app should be owned by everybody! It's easy to use. Secure. Easy to backup. Easy to encrypt messages with the best encryption options available! The password saving interface is well thought out. There's a password generator that's excellent and because you can then save the password in the app there's no need to worry about remembering it. Simply open up to the file, copy the pw, paste in the pw field on the site or app.

I have used this app for a few years now and it works perfectly. I appreciated that the app was ad free and minimal permissions and have bought the pro version to show my support. It's great they added the steganography option. Also, having text and file encryption apps for Windows and ios makes the encryption available on home computer as well as smartphone. Excellent work! I notice some people complain about things that are already explained in the instructions. Remember folks, RTFM!

This is a preliminary review while testing the app. I can see why users have password problems. Each session begins with a "session" password. It is easy to mistyped twice in the same way what we think is our "usual" password. Then the file can't be decrypted later. I make identical typing mistakes often on virtual keyboards, especially on phones. The app needs the ability to reuse stored passwords, themselves encrypted with the encryption routine of the app. I would mess up with this app.

Great Security App!! I've been looking for a functional file encryption app. I like that this app affords the user the option to remove the unencrypted source file following encryption. The only bump in the road I've experienced - and it's a significant bump - is that during my first week of using the app on a Pixel 2 it has twice apparently corrupted the encryted file. A message stated "wrong PW or corrupted file" - it was NOT the PW. I happily paid the $4.99 to support the developers.

nice app. but I have one problem/bug using (Text Encryption): the view / clipboard limitation on Android10: when adding a large block of text to encrypt it, it doesn't display the whole text and when copying (unencrypted text) out of the app, it doesn't copy the whole text and shows a message (clipboard limit 128kb). However I have a large RAM available. can this bug be fixed?

UPDATED: 01/16/2021 I have been using SSE for many years now, and continue to use SSE as my go-to encryption app. It works, does what I need and want it to do, has never crashed, never lost ANY data. No distracting, flashing, confusing ads in the FREE version as well as the PRO versions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

After upgrading to the pro version, all the files encrypted with the free version can no longer be decrypted, as it tells me "the files are corrupt". 11 hours of work yesterday for nothing, not happy right now.

Very sure i put in the right password to a file i had encrypted...its been less than a month and the password does not work. Keep getting a wrong password or corrupted file and i am sure that neither is the case. Really wished i had taken the time out to read the reviews first before using it. Almost bought the full version. Almost.....

Excellent app, I have been using it for many years. I just found out that if I rename my file and hit ok, it will take a bit of time to do that then the app crushes and closes. This happened in renaming both unencrypted and encrypted files. Anyone experiencing this?

I trust only open source security. This app is small and secure. It does not have all the bells and whistles. It does not synchronize your encrypted data or vault into cloud or anything like that. It does only what it meant to do: encrypt and decrypt. I love it.

Awesome 😁 app 👌. I encrypt all my private folders. It is really helpful to me to upload my encrypted folders in my cloud storage. So that i can easily download it and decrypt in future. I believe you in this work. I hope you don't remove this app from playstore if so i will lost all my encrypted data and I can't decrypt it in future. Pls don't delete the app from here. It is really useful for everyone 😊

This is an excellent way to secure key private files. Especially if using the built-in full phone encryption is impractical or problematic, like it is on my phone computer. Just don't forget your password!

WOW!! (Was using 7Zip, also good, until I saw this) Used the PC version for a few months, got this for my phone to store passwords & sensitive info for easy access. Works great. Takes some practice, but definitely worth it. High encryption levels available. Totally ad-free.

Upgraded to the Pro version. It's well worth the $5.99 and there's a PC, MacOs, and iOS version, too. I've been using this for a while and it is perfect for my needs (File and Text encryption).

This is so far the best I have tried. Note that a decrypted text file can be opened either in android browser or the Html Viewer included in this app. Android browser has a find tool but Html Viewer does not. If you open in android browser be aware that the file is cached. So for security, after reading your text file, you not only need to wipe it off in SSE but also clear the cache in android browser.

I'd give it 5 stars, but the UI looks a little crappy. A cleaner minimalistic UI would make it more professional and enhance the experience. Other than that, it does it's thing with no hassle.

This app might seem a bit odd but the the interface is just as practical as it should be. The main advantage for me is that it has a desktop version which was exactly what I need. I am now sure that unless a copy of that app is still on my pc I can access my files.

Unfortunatly, on the S21 ultra 512gb version the clipboard cleaner does not work. It fills the clipboard to 24 but the info is not cleared off, just pushed back 24 spaces. And running it multiple times does not work either. edit: back to 5 stars

Got the app for encrypting files and folders. When I tried to encrypt a folder, the app froze at 100%. The app took excessive data space, over 20 GB. I tried to uninstall it from the App Info option, and a message appeared saying this is a System Application and could not be uninstalled. This is NOT a System Application. Had to uninstall from Google Play Store. Seems like it attempted privilege escalation without my permission.

It is a good app for encryption, it's ok. But the encrypted file can be deleted within a file manager. Then what's the security? Ok, I changed the rating. It does what it intended to do perfectly.

Love it this app really makes encrypting folders and files easy really easy and it also has a text encrypter a password manager and some other stuff you can choose the level of encryption (just so you know (aes 256) is the best) so i recommed this app you dont find apps like this for ive also never had a problem just remember your pssword.

One of the only apps I trust not only that it has the strongest encryption simplest encryption drag and drop on windows fully offline and they are 100% transparent what else do you want? ❤

Fantastic app to store your sensitive notes/ passwords and secrets. You can export data in encrypted for back up purpose or you can transfer it in other mobile. Very very useful app. Thanks to devloper. But change it's name because so many can not understand S.S.E meaning

An app that deserves 5 stars!!! No unnecessary permissions. A true no nonsense app. This app doesn't have "Full network access" permission, which makes it a true privacy friendly app. If you are looking for an encryptor, then this is your final stop. Devs, I truly appreciate the work that you have put in this app!!! Some UI improvements to make it look modern and this will become the best app in encryption category. Please, don't ever drop the privacy friendly approach for this app. Thank you.
