It always ask to root my phone. It works on pixels phone by default, nothing else is required. How can i remove this pop up?
Does not even open on Android 9.
does what it says
It's almost just like a VPN (if you have root privileges, obviously), except much easier to throw together. Also, there doesn't seem to be any support for passphrase-protected SSH keys, which is a bit of a bummer for those of us who don't like the idea of unprotected keys to our servers. Aside from that though, good stuff.
Holds connection well and if you are creative, can forward most phone/tablet traffic without rooting. I know what I am doing, so please get rid of the please root warning recurring every start. I will not root my Nexus and void the warranty though I do have other devices out of warranty happily rooted.
Works as advertised. Easy to setup (especially with Tomato Router SSH) and I like all of its available customizations. But as with others, the widget just refuses to work. It'll connect & immediately disconnect. If I open the app and connect there, it works just fine. Would really rather use the Widget to turn it on/off really quickly as needed.
Connecting through a home based Linux box's ssh couldn't be much easier. The widget toggle wasn't happy with my phone, but running the app itself and using the checkmark to enable works flawlessly. A great way to secure your remote connection wherever you are, and to access LAN-only IP's at the same time!
Im not sure what exactly is wrong... the application doesnt show any error, but my ip isnt changing to my ssh server ip when i check whatsmyip site. Ill try to find if the tunnel is created on the server side...or if the global proxy setting isnt working...
im rooted. the problem lies somewhere in IPTABLES. im trying to forward all of my phones trafic through socks to (what i believe is) a dynamic port that ssh tunnel creates. the thing is that it doesnt work at all. previously i used proxydroid (which now has the same behaviour as ssh tunnel). in terminal emulator i found out that the tunnel is opened in a IPv6 connection, wouldnt that be a problem? also on lollipop.
I've used this app off and on for YEARS. No problems. You chumps who are having issues need to lern2root. Currently proxied all my connections thru a VPS, no issues whatsoever. (Galaxy S4 rooted STOCK 4.4.4 rom. Srsly. Not even Cyanogen. Just root your phone & even keep the ROM already on it.)
Everything is well set on my rooted device, the app connects to the server but it doesn't put the traffic through the socks server
Although I couldn't use my dropbearkey generated key, with user/pass it is working perfectly.
Individual app routing doesn't work on Lollipop anymore. This app used to be perfect for per-app secure connections.
I am able to connect to it SSH server but it will no longer tunnel all traffic over the SOCKS proxy.
I use this app to connect to my ssh server, and set up a socks proxy, then use proxydroid. It works reliably and is easy to use.
Very cool app, working perfectly on CM11, small issues on note3 with 4.4.2 auto reconnect is not working.
It works like a charm. Very useful for tunneling vnc, ftp and other unencrypted protocols, over public networks.
The reconnect (used for tunneling) does not work when using flightmode. It loses connection, retries once and then terminates forever. No further retry when flightmode ends ..
The UI is too technical and time consuming for most users. I would recomend Orbot as opposed to this. Onion routing is stronger than this to boot.
says Requires root for advanced features , but actually will not do ANYTHING without root, -Lies.
Seamless connection to my Linux box for tunneling on a Galaxy S4, very slick and fast. However, I would have liked DNS requests to be tunneled to the Linux box as well, instead of being sent to the Google servers, because my server resolves local/private domains whereas Google can't.
Doesn't work on lollipop. No traffic is redirected through tunnel when on cellular but using a WiFi tablet it redirects correctly.
No support for the RSA keys protected with password (selection only for user login and password for the SSH servers).
On android M, It is connected but the tunneling future not work. It should be the iptables issues
Counter intuitive interface, hard to use, need to create multiple profiles for multiple ports, can't forward privileged ports even with root access granted. UI needs serious reactor.
It connects to my SSH server but doesn't route anything through it.
Connects but doesn't redirect traffic properly in Lollipop. Hope the dev can fix this soon.
On my old device running Android 4.1.1 this apps works flawlessly. But on my other device running Android 4.4.4, it keeps disconnecting after a while. Please fix it.
Thanks for this app and continuing to update it. I'm using it alongside SocksDroid to create a proper VPN over SSH without any device rooting and it's working awesomely.
