Currently logged in but every article I choose takes me to a page telling me I must log in. If I click that link I get eternal buffering. If I go to main menu, only option is to log OUT. Frequently get pop up video ads that will not close. Even after they play entirely, I'm just stuck on the ad. I can't believe they have ther nerve to double their price.
I used this app for a while, but then every single article had a popup saying I needed to purchase a subscription to access, even though there are tons of ads. I uninstalled the app today and downloaded KSDK's app instead. I don't mind ads, as that is revenue for the website, but the subscription is way too expensive when I can get the same content elsewhere for free.
Wish I could give it less than 1 star. The app was flawed before, it's worse now. Difficult to read because of background pictures, limited content, huge ads that take up half the screen, after reading an article in a chosen section going back takes you back to the main screen instead of the section, no more comments, and content is slow to update. Developers are fairly unresponsive. If you haven't updated, don't do it. Wish I hadn't.
The app wants me to login but I am already logged in. I logged out then logged in again. Still wants me to log in. This app worked great before but now it's broken. I'll be using the local tv news channels apps for news now since those work. Goodbye Post!
Add appears and will not close. Pretty useless if Icannot read the article. Works fine on my computer, but not on my phone. No
Click on any article and get a pop-up which will not close. What happened? Will UNINSTALL this app and use local news station apps instead. Will read StLToday on computer instead.
Absolutely garbage. The Post Dispatch web site on a computer is fine but the mobile app is terrible. As a paid subscriber I log in, click on an article and within 2 seconds of it loading a full screen pops up and completely blocks the article with no way to get past it. This literally renders the app useless and I can't imagine the logic behind their design decision. They are making it impossible to rationalize keeping a paid subscription.
The way the app displays thumbnails of photos next to stories on the home page zooms to the center of the graphic leading to puzzling results.
Requires sign in, but doesn't load when I do. Reloaded the app, but still having problems.
App is crashing like crazy on Note 8. I click a news notification and I get the splash screen then the the news for 1 second, then it loops again a few times and crashes. Worked fine for years before this. Hopefully an update is on the way!
I continue to use the app, but the amount of adds is just crazy. Also when advertising popups come on, they are at full volume, with apparently no way to change volume settings.
Now with so many ads that keep app from opening. What was ok has turned into useless. They keep "trying" to monitize the Post Dispatch but this current version fails by loosing readers. What good is a product if you keep it on the shelf.
The latest version wants me to allow changes to system settings by the app. A news app should not require any more permissions than a web browser. Until they fix this, I won't use it.
App was ok when free with heavy ads. Not worth a subscription and heavy ads to boot.
This app used to be great. Free app means free app. The PD began asking for a $22.99 subscription. Then wants me to subscribe and login. What happened? Free = free. If not, remove The PD from the Free app list. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Made no difference.
Paid subscriber fed up with pop up ads. Uninstalled.
The relationship is over. After years of using this as my go to source for local news I had to breakup. It's become too much work. It's totally you and not me. You've let to many ads come between us. I've moved on to another source but I will remember the good times before you changed.
App is unstable on Galaxy s10 following latest update. Keeps crashing as of 5/22/19. I've reinstalled it, restarted phone, and tried every other fix I know of. Because I've had multiple major software issues with the s10, I'm not sure this is just an STL Today problem.
Don't understand why I have to register to read the news reports now? I will move on to other local news apps that have the same stories for the most part.
Don't bother. According the the help department, "the news app (android/ios) are not really meant for subscribers at this time, it’s main function is for users of the site to get alerts on their phone for breaking news."
App is terrible. The last few days when I open it, it continually resets to where I can't even open anything. Also, can't share stories anymore.
You're local, shouldn't have to subscribe to view saved articles
Terrible since the last update. This app forces you into viewing countless ads over and over. I have deleted it and will use other methods for local and less biased news.
glitchy quite often. now it is constantly reopening. so I can't even read any articles because as soon as i go to open them the app just starts opening itself again.
Goodbye Post, I've read you in print and or digital since about the time I learned to read. You have officially become worthless in digital and way over priced in print. You'll be missed for what you once were.
Won't even open anymore. I get the headline alerts but when I try to open the app it always appears as an error and I cant even use it anymore.
Why do you need access to my settings ie the ability to turn on Bluetooth? As of today I can no longer view the news without allowing this permission, which I will not do.
The latest version of this app is absolutely awful and horrible almost as if a two-year-old put it together. Doesn't allow the comments anymore impossible to share articles. Will be deleting off of my phone and all devices today
As of 8/30/21, this app loads a full screen ad after about one minute. The ad cannot be cleared, despite displaying a Close button. Makes the app useless. As of 5/9/22, it seems to be fixed. In between the two dates I have no idea. I gave up on trying to use it. Note to P-D:. You get no revenue if no one uses the app.
