What's happened to this app? I've used it for years and apart from the ridiculously complicated password required it's been great. Until now. Waiting and waiting for the next screen. Quit/Restart/ Wait/Wait/Quit/ReStart. Buy one ticket, try buy the second and then it signed me out! I can't remember the ridiculously complicated password so had to reset. What's the point in saving passwords on device if the app decides to chuck you off anyway?! And new layer of security snail-speed screen too!!!
Terrible app that finds a new way to annoy me every time I use it! Just found another problem - when you have tickets for multiple persons (I bought 2 returns) you have to swipe the QR code to get to the other person's ticket but it doesn't work reliably, at least half the time it navigates to the next tab (Return journey) instead of the next ticket so you have to go back to the Outbound tab and try again! This is basic stuff that must frustrate thousands of travellers every day but Stansted Express / Greater Anglia clearly don't care as they still haven't fixed any of the other issues that reported in other 1* reviews.
I do not use it often and when I do it does not work. Can't checkout as a guest. When checking out, the payment system returns an error like "the request is too big" (or similar). Can't copy the credit card numbers from another app because, when switching among apps, it goes automatically back to the home page.
Worst app ever, just missed 2 trains trying to get it to show my ticket. it just hung with the time ticker on the top, and didn't show qr code. Gate staff and office wouldn't accept PayPal receipt. I then reloaded the app, the ticket had gone, as it signed me out, and now wouldn't recognise my password! I had data reception, albeit slow, but that shouldn't stop the app working, i was still able to check emails, but the app doesn't send a confirmation email, only PayPal receit. Do not trust it!
Suffers from some simple poor design decisions. Loses focus if you switch out of the app and makes you restart purchase process (can't look up credit card details). Doesn't allow paste into password field (can't use password safe). Failed transaction with no explanation other than "error", more or less. Waste of time, buying tickets at station.
Everything you read is right: this is a dreadful app. Seems like they think printed tickets are magically more secure than a screenshot of a ticket. App auto logs out during your trip and you need to present again at end! Has ludicrous password complexity requirements and doesn't support backgrounding or paste, so you must use a simple password or else write your password down. I recommend something like 12345678aA!
tried buying tickets 5 times, always came up with "there has been an error dealing with your request. Please try later" message when paying. Tried 2 cards as well, so it was definitely the app!
I downloaded this to store my tickets. It failed to load when I got to the barriers. Downloaded pdf from email worked fine. Also kept wanting to access my camera?? Why?? Very poor. Not worth the space on my phone.
Three attempts to buy a ticket which ended in failure. Much easier and quicker to use the website. Don't understand the point of having a buggy app.
Works flawlessly. Cant see any of the problems in other reviews. Offline tickets work and booking was smooth through the app. Maybe people need to update the app.
it might seem obvious but if the app is not booking properly check its up to date! why does the app not prompt when its out of date? i spent 30+ minutes with the booking always failing at the last step before i worked it out.
The app does not cater for travel from/to all stations served by the Stansted Express. My local stations are Broxbourne or Harlow but it is not possible to select them.
It's absolutely impossible to complete payment with this app. It keeps up with errors and will not let you purchase the tickets you want.
Warning: this app does not download your tickets as you'd expect - you need to have an online connection when you need them for the barrier. Guaranteed way to miss the train while you mess about with data connections and logins , as we have just done.
Bought a ticket then it forces me to log in at the barrier again to show it, almost missed the train! If you use this uselss app, take a screenshot of your barcode. It's otherwise pointless
Impossible to use with a password manager: they don't allow to paste your password, and it sends you back to the start if you dare to try to find your password in your manager anyway. Security theatre that has been debunked as bad practice long ago, or just bad engineering
Downloaded fine, tickets imported fine. When i reopen app, blank screen. Using Android. Useless if i want to rely on it to store tickets
Does nothing that a pdf and a web browser doesn't achieve better. Bloated, pointless and uses lots of battery.
If the payment option doesn't work why have an app? Useless installed it twice just to be sure but no its still not working. Get it fixed!
good for viewing tickets. I've tried buying tickets and it has failed twice with different dates :(. ended up buying through their online version
Why do you need permission to take pictures and record videos? Login with Facebook inside your app seems dodgy! Do you want to record that too?
Completely useless and totally frustrating. Don't even bother. You'll be sorry if you do! Why it still exists in current form is a mystery to me.
this was a decent app until payment by card stopped working some weeks ago. I contacted support 2x, but no one got back.
Utterly useless. Doesn't accept any form of payment. Just displays "error". That pretty much sums up Abellio.
Terrible app. doesn't show your tickets. total waste of time.
only got this to see live departure...which it is currently unable to show. Completely useless
Completely unusable. Turn the phone, takes you back to the beginning. Switch app, takes you back to the beginning. And the final straw - if you use a password manager you can't use it with this app as someone thought it was clever to prevent pasting into the password field. Oh - and it doesn't work split screen either. And it wants permission for photos and video. Zero stars.
