Star Taxi is a modern solution for getting a taxi in seconds: you can place an order without making a call, choose the driver, see the taxi on the map as it travels to your location, know exactly when the taxi arrived, get free Wi-Fi in the car and leave a comment at the end of the trip.
How does it work?- Your phone detects your position and, once you confirm the address, the app sends your order to the available taxis, starting with the ones nearest to you.- When a taxi driver confirms your order, you choose whether to go with him or not, or to search for another driver.- You can see the taxi on the map as it travels towards your location, and when the taxi arrives the driver can send you a “buzz”.- You can chat with the driver, or you can just call him.

Starting with version 1.3 you can:1. Pay with your card, directly from the app.- Register your card in the Star Taxi App- Don’t worry, your personal data is safe, card processing is made by PayU.- Select “Card” as payment option before you place your order.- When you reach your destination, you choose whether to give a tip to the driver and then you “Slide to pay”.- You get a receipt via email.
2. Pay with Star Taxi Vouchers or Corporate Vouchers:- Pay your rides with Star Taxi Vouchers (loyalty points) or with Corporate Vouchers if your employer has a contract with us.
3. Synchronize your account:- Save, recover and synchronize your favourite addresses, your order history and payments, favourite drivers and your whole profile. Your data stays with your account, regardless the device you use the application on or if you delete the app. Other improvements:- Better locating and address identifying service.- Street number is no longer necessary if there is a message for the driver.- The time for confirming the order by the client has been raised to 20 seconds.- Other functional and design improvements.
Star Taxi Android App permissions:
- Storage (Modify/delete SD card contents): saving data and cache for the app.
- System tools (Prevent phone from sleeping): for the GCM notifications system.
- Your location (Fine (GPS) location): for automatic geolocation.
- Hardware controls (Take pictures and videos): for the profile picture. .
- Network communication (Full internet access): to communicate with the server and Google Maps/Reverse geocoding.
- Hardware controls (Control vibrator): to have vibration on notifications.
- Your accounts (Discover known accounts): to fill in the email address associated to the user's profile and to make sure the GCM notification system works fine (push notifications).
- Phone calls (Read phone state and identity): to associate the user account with the IMEI number of the device.

Can't get a driver to save your life using this app, while choosing to pay with a card. Also, choosing to pay via card gets an automatic commison of a small amount, which while not noticeable, still is a dick move from the guys that developed the app. In short, what the actual hell, great customer service guys...
I couldn't save a favorite address with other details, besides street name and number. Adding a favourite address just gets from GPS the street name/number, you can't add building, entrance or other details. And if you can add those in the "place order" form, clicking on the star from upper wright corner doesn't add all that to a "favorite" address.
I would have given it more stars but after the last update it freezes every time i try to order. It is a very good app and very usefull but it caught me off guard when i was in a hurry. It's a struggle to try to move the map so i can order... I hope it can be fixed.
Does anyone still use this app? I find it weird that it's been months since i've been looking for taxis in the middle of the city and no cars are available. Stop mixing cash only drivers with card only customers, you're creating unnecessary conflicts
App opens with a plain white overlay that just covers most of the screen. Utterly unusable. Reinstalling did nothing. EDIT: reinstalling a third time got it to work, but it should not be this difficult!
You offer the option to login with Facebook but then you ask me for a password, which defeats the whole purpose of using my Facebook account for login. I don't want to remember another password. Edit: To answer your reply, no, I am not confused. After I click to connect Facebook you show me a form to create an account on your app where you just took my name and email from Facebook. This is terrible UX.
Not using it again, drivers dont show up and the app doesnt always keep the frame open. Edit: Investigate what? Will the company refund me the ammount I lost on a flight due to the driver not honorring the comand? Otherwise I don't see why I should try to get in touch with you more than this.
Sms confirmation code doesn't work, pressed resend many times, didn't receive a new one, tryed to make a new account, tryed to make a account usign Facebook, no luck, so useless, loosing time
Great app for saving money and losing belly fat. No driver accepts orders with card payment, regardless of the hour (rush our or not). Can't find a driver in Bucharest downtown at 2 pm :) Uninstalled today, choose Bolt instead
Nobody takes you order if you choose to pay via card. Haven't been able to get a single ride in almost a full year
Useless, very very very very hard to find a driver. I tried in Bucuresti, Constanta, Cluj at different times, morning, day, night, nothing, searching and searching and i got lucky only twice after 15 mins of searching.
It is requesting access to Phone and Contacts and it closes without these rights. That is unacceptable! I cannot give 0 stars, 1 is too much.
Used the app. For 7 minute ( second time), I called the Taxi driver and he TOLD ME : "I'VE BEEN WAITING YOU FOR 15- 20 MINUTES SO I LEFT!" 7 MINUTES - WAITING FOR 15-20 MINUTES "YOU" my friend have to be from the FUTURE! I WIILLLL NEVER USE THIS APPP AGAIN!
Used to use Clevar taxi, now that Free Now shut it down i switched to Star. Very pleased with Star sofar. Just one problem: can't see the plate number when i order a cab, you guys at Star taxi, please fix this, it's needed when ordering a cab for someone ele so that they know what car is waiting for them.
Does it's job. Wish it had a way for us to set the destination so we see an estimated cost (kinda like what the previous nr1 app, Clever, was doing)
You cannot login with Facebook, it returns an error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Expected BEGIN_OBJECT but was BEGIN_ARRAY at line 1 column 10 path $.data. Does it work with Android 11?
Incorrect address sent to the driver. Very friendly driver though.

It's a really great app and really helpful! It has good filters/details that you can choose/specify about your ride you order. I have no complains about it! The only things that I think you can improve are the way you choose the destination, like after you write the address that you want to go to, it would be nice if you can also move the destination point on the map the same way you can move the starting point and the other thing it would be nice if you could've seen the feedback you recieve.
