Great game but it can be even better if some features were more polished/improved. But there is only 1 thing that feels a bit underwelming and that the carrier class ship, they feel like they don't live up to the name. They can refuel/repair fighters but their abilities arn't unique enough to make me and possibly other use them in their fleets and with some updates I believe they could serve a greater purpose like giving a buff to ships in a certain range or even holding a few fighters inside.
Nice easy-to-learn 4x. It becomes slow on large maps after half of the game (on my S5e tablet). No diplomacy, no way to stop a war. The only way to win is to completely exterminate the enemy. I was looking for something a bit different, but this is not a defect of the game.
I've been holding off for years reviewing this game. I needed to know why, I finally do, it's because, imo, I feel 4X games as a whole port poorly to mobile because of screen limitations etc. This has nothing to do with the game hence 5*'s. It's well polished, the Trese Bros are phenomenal passionate developers that are under appreciated and this game is up to scratch and an excellent example of 4X on mobile, it makes Uciana look like a cluttered mess. If you need a 4X fix on the go, buy this.
I enjoy the gameplay, my issue is if you start with the free version and buy the add-ons in it, they DO NOT transfer to the premium version, I have been unable to get my save or every other dlc(that I've already bought) in the elite version and I've already logged into both, synced files etc, my review has been edited to 4 stars because the dev is quick to reply to emails and is very helpful.
Decent 4X game. Wish they had more customizable maps in terms of size, resource availability, and enemy difficulty. That's my only criticism. All together a well fleshed out mobile RTS.
I doubt you'll find a finer example of 4X strategy on mobile. I adore these developers. I became introduced to their titles on PC and became such a fan that I attempted to add the developers on Steam as friends. To my surprise they not only accepted but spoke to me privately on numerous occasions. They were incredibly gracious and kind. I became homeless for a time and lost everything, including my PC. I was so happy to find their titles available here. These developers actually care.
Ok, so this is a phone game, eventually you'll feel its not some feature presentation, But its a good game and it aspires to be more next time if there is one. If you like strategy games and only play on phones- this games a must. But I hope it really get tested at higher difficulties, cause I just smoked it on normal. Lastly if you like what you see on the free version, You'll be glad you got the full game.
I really enjoy all of the Star Traders games. The universe is as detailed and immersive as Frank Herbert's "Dune," and the game itself plays out like the old school "Tradewars" by Martech. I can only play this game after hours, because it will take over all my attention.
I agonised for ages whether to give 4 or 5 stars - absolutely love this game and have played it over and over in various arrangements, but like the original star traders it suffers badly from lack of polish. There are so many simple little improvements they could make to make this game so much easier to learn, play and initially understand. despite this it's a really good 4x game with great replayability Ultimately decided on 5 because of the anti pay-to-win stance it would be churlish not to)
Super fun and addicting. It really hits the 4X spot on a phone. There's a bit of a learning curve for some things (ship design!) but the tutorial teaches you the basics well.
It's amazing. A good solid turn based game. I feel the background tiles are a bit dark though. A way of sorting ships by class would also be neat.
I only put 5 stars because i like Trese Brothers. This game seems too slow. First map literally took a week and i never finished it. Did almost all the research but had to corner the xeno and spawn camp them to get through the tech tree.
4x in space. Surprisingly deep game. Intricate ship designer system. I've been playing for a few days and it is fun and addictive! 👍
Very good game, lots of depth and customization. Civilization in space. Please allow it to be played with a mouse.
I didn't think I would care for a game that takes so long to finish, but found it very absorbing. Good tutorial. Won one game and am still learning.
Deep and engaging strategy. It could use a better tutorial, but figuring it in your own is fun in itself
A unique game on mobile. Like all Trese Brothers games it has a learning curve. Like all of their games it is well worth it.
Game is worse than anemic on instructions and the alien ramp up is not even. Could be such a good game, but it lacks explanations and a setting for a fair AI
Superb depth in both tactical and strategic game play. There is much more to this game than most app - based games.
Please make a ST_4X_2! Or at least make a few updates to this one! Even if it is only bug fixs please!... Well after CyberK 2.
Amazing game .. Endless replayability .. More then worth the few bucks it cost. Trese bros make the best games on the market
Amazing game great turn based strategy empire building. Looking forward to unlocking the other factions !
Great game! I just wish there were more maps and content. Perhaps a sequel or remake is in order?
Couldn't even play the game. Wasn't mad for current android version and wouldn't connect to Google play so you didn't have access to anything
Too complicated. Not exciting. There is no "just one more turn" feeling.
great 4x game. unique and developed storyline. very replayable. I havent deleted it yet.
Pretty solid 4x game, gets a little cluttered on bigger maps.
Always loved the Star Trader games. This one is definitely no disappointment.
Excellent 4x game with a lot of depth. If I had to criticise aspects of the game, I would say the controls could use some streamlining (upgrading buildings one at a time by entering the same menus repeatedly is a bit clunky, for example) and the graphics could be a little prettier, not that it's ugly by any stretch. Still, very well done 4x game and I would recommend it to my friends. One last thing, politics is very confusing and I needed to research online to fully understand it. It needs a better tutorial.
