Been playing this game since launch. In the last few years they have added many quality of life changes. This is however still a pay to win model, although not as bad as it was 2 years ago. New players are now able to obtain an epic ship within a few months of diligent game play. Maybe a bit faster if you spend money. Packs are definitely expensive for what you get (no value), especially at $99 each. Territory take overs are still laggy please fix or add improvements.

Two things wrong with this game. First, at the beginning it's enjoyable, but further progress requires days to weeks at a time to upgrade. It is a GAME, you should not have to waste 6 months of your limited lifespan just upgrading stuff just so you can continue playing the game. Times should be reduced to 1/10th the time at least. Also, doesn't work on wi-fi, keeps disconnecting even on full reception.Uses huge amounts of data and only keeps connection on mobile data, so uses all your data up!

I am enjoying this game quite a bit. Sure, it's always kinda buggy, but I'm enjoying it. --- The MAIN issue is that they have completely missed the point of "Micro-Transaction". $100 for a pack? Are you kidding me? There are full PC games, with hundreds of hours of developed gameplay, that I will not pay that much for. And you want it for some trinkets in a fairly buggy mobile game? Un-friggin'-real. Ha!

I give it no stars if I could! This game is even worst then when I started! It is so bad, that i just may consider deleting the game in general. The game needs overhauled extremely bad now, that they haven't even introduced ways to level up, let alone the other series like voyager, ds9, & Enterprise. Even though are the skins are nice, I prefer to have the ships in general. Both the store in the app as well as online are not worth the money to spend. Because you don't get your money's worth.

Decent mechanics, interface is irritating at times: -Mission popups are unskippable and can cause you to get attacked while you're clicking through them. -Menus are sometimes 4-5 clicks deep with no way to quickly return to the game screen. -You lose all control of your ships when warping/mining, can't view ship/officer stats, can't change orders. C- as free-to-play, definitely a pay-to-win game, literally a month to aquire ship without paying. Year to upgrade ship without paying.

Not a stable game. Full of bugs that don't get fixed. Multiple events that fail to work properly, don't score as promised, and show lack of planning and software QA. Support doesn't fix missing points and expects you to just do all the work over again because they changed the scoring because it wasn't working properly the first time.

Great game if you have a credit card to match. Game is runined by credit card Whales. A lot of bullying takes place on my server leaving the smaller/weaker plays at a significant disadvantage. However, Scopely only want your money so they do nothing about this and keep pushing out new features that require Pay to Play to achieve any level of success.

Too expensive! It starts out ok but later turns into a money pit. If you don't pay it will take months and months for 1 single build. Any ship you want will cost $99 minimum up to $600. $99 will only get you a fraction of the most useful ships and you out grow it in a few levels and need a more powerful ship. The same for building the buildings you need.

This game used to be fun, but after years of hard work to reach level 40, I now realise that everything is now pay to win. It would take years to even get to level 41 as almost every single upgrade requires 4* materials. There is no fun here at all now. It is just a massive pay wall. Time to find a better game which does not ask for an extortionate amount of money in order to make the slightest bit of progress.

(Update) I tried it again.. after 5 full minutes of tutorials (including being forced to join an alliance without even knowing what that means-definitely Not starfleet appropriate) I found myself uninterested in even trying it. Finally deleting this waste of space. Wanted to play but didn't have a choice to opt out of the tutorial. Nothing kills a game faster than inescapable tutorials.

the game was awesome before. with the latest update it is so buggy it makes it hard to play and near impossible to get events done. it crashes every 20 minutes or so. when trying to claim a finished daily task it says purchase failed then goes back to the main screen and acts like it wasn't claimed. it will eventually show up like 30 minutes later. so annoying. come on guys, seems like u introduced more bugs than u fixed with this version.

Great gameplay, horrible paywalls. The monthly arcs provide plenty of content. The live action multiplayer can be a blessing or a curse depending on your gameplay style. This game is P2W after a certain level or you will spend months stuck trying to level up your ships, buildings and research. The new community manager, Eco, has been doing a great job at addressing our concerns. I've been playing for 2 years and if things continue to improve, I see no reason to quit.

The way this game is designed it pretty much forces you to pay real money to progress in later levels. There are also numerous bugs (wrongs icons displayed, lag, etc.). The lag might be better when they get it on PC, but I'm sure there will be even more problems with that. There Q/A is not good (spelling errors) everywhere. I've enjoyed my time playing this game, but it is so Pay-to-Win it makes me sick.

It's a shame really as it's a good game once you get into it. Massive downside is the fact that the game keeps shutting down. Really annoying especially when your in the middle of something, then having to reboot the game to find your ship(s) destroyed. And all you get from the developers is that this is fault of your WiFi/Mobile Data connectivity. Fact is, the game is simply too big to play on a mobile. I recommend playing on either a tablet or PC if you want uninterrupted gameplay

A pay to play (either a lot of real money or an egregious amount of your valuable time) after the initial levels. The only reason I still play at all is that I hate the idea that I have wasted so much to achieve so little. Multiple bottlenecks to progress that you can only realistically overcome if you are able to spend $99 multiple times a month for little bonus packs that partially offset the grind that is required.

W. F. Mar 9, 2022

Pay to play just keeps getting worse. Packs all $99. Takes 3 packs to upgrade 1 slot. New content has become mediocre. When you have a real issue, support never fixes it, almost always responding with boilerplate messages. A lot of bugs still remain, including the program crashing on PC, Apple, and Android. For the amount of money these folks make they really don't seem to care at all about the actual product quality.

Updated review. Most of the bugs that made it a pain to play are gone, though some still pop up. I would have upped the stars for this, but they also opted to increase the price on everything in the Market. Most upgrades bring sold will cost you $100. You can play without paying, but will be at a decided disadvantage. Also, the mining is horribly balanced. Most upgrades require large amounts of Uncommon materials that you have to smelt to get and rarely drop, slowing your building to a crawl.

Utu. M. Mar 8, 2022

Turning off mission reminders does nothing. Selecting a ship and a system will show a direct route and time to travel, press warp and the ship will fly in the opposite direction and increase time to travel by several minutes. Help received from teammates for repairs and upgrades get removed after minimizing the app, further increasing the time. Constant mission progress pop-ups, even in the settings, upgrades and chat menus.

Some really great people on this game. Game can cost quite a bit of money after a while. Especially when you get to higher levels it takes forever to collect resources to upgrade your ships. So if you're not a patient person, you'll most likely be spending money. Game does not look like the ads you see online but the graphics and interface is really good. It certainly helps to use other resources like Discord, ally members, and YouTube to plan strategies and fine tune ships. DEFY4ever

Dus. S. May 21, 2022

This game has so much potential, SO MUCH but lag and glitches really foul it up from time to time. Also of note while game support is quite responsive it's often canned replies without resolution of the problem. I've been attempting to reboot/restart my game for over a month and they players can't do that individually only support can. Another annoying feature. Uninstalled the game

Jer. L. Apr 24, 2022

This game is really good, loads of missions, factions, very enjoyable. However, the one thing that let's it down is the cost if you want to buy, and you don't need to buy but it helps, the lowest, and there's not many of them, is £17.99, the highest, and there's load of them, are £89.99, out of reach of a lot of people, so I save what money I have and spend them on State of Survival game where the prices are 'normal' if it wasn't for the ridiculous prices I would score 5 star.

A. G. u. Apr 22, 2022

fun to play at the beginning. Then it brings out the worse in people by attacking others because they can. The public chat can have inappropriate comments unsafe for minors. Last, if you uninstall and re-install, you lose all your progress in the game. I'm still playing as sometimes the arcs are fun, but is clearly designed for you to spend money on it and I do sometimes but definitely not the $99 packages that are designed to try to keep you buying.

Chr. S. Apr 27, 2022

Rather absorbing and addictive, with opportunity to interact with other players and engage in strategies. There are stories /missions and goals to aim for. Adequately complicated and well constructed. A very good option if you are looking for something which can easily pass a lot of time, give you some opportunity to interact with people and not be limited to only those who can afford to pay. Paying just gives you competitive advantages, I think.

Rob. R. Apr 29, 2022

I have played this game for several months to be sure I was giving it a fair shot. The game is well designed to put you in situations where you need to spend money to advance. It goes from build time being several hours to several days to even weeks. It keeps the materials needed to upgrade your ships and the good ships them selves behind pay walls. I spent weeks and weeks trying to get the jellyfish in game with no real results. Then there's the PVP. It's so unbalanced it's infuriating.
