The app works as intended. I have been able to play multiple games now and so far its been great. The AI system isn't always the best but it usually makes up for it by giving itself bonuses. It provides a good challenge for new players like myself. My main complaint is there is no undo button in the app. Sometimes this is an issue (for instance we once had an objective die and we forgot to mark it before we ended an activation which meant we couldn't delete the token for the game to know)
YOU NEED A PHYSICAL COPY TO PLAY. I just thought I'd clear that up, this is a companion app to "Star Wars: Imperial Assault" the boardgame. Currently there are (3) 5 mission campaigns that allow your characters to progress from heroes to almost unstoppable killing machines. The missions are fun and last about 3 hours each while running the app and the in-between mission briefs/short stories and clean up purchasing new items and equipment. It allows complete 4 player Co-op, the only way i play.
Great companion app! Everyone would like more content, but that should only be a positive for a FREE download! Almost all the 3-star or less reviews come from people who don't understand what this is. You could give them a free car, and they would complain it's not a house. I have had a blast playing this board game, and adding expansion pack DLC for free as I purchase physical copies.
Great companion app to help you run co-op or even solo games of Imperial Assault. Nice features, narrative, even background sounds and music. Seems some do not realize this is a companion to the physical boradgame, can't use this without it. Hey Fantasy Flight, we just need more campaigns to match all the boardgame expansions!
YOU NEED THE BOARD GAME TO PLAY. Great game. Awesome story. Decent graphics. The one issue I have is the fact that there are only 4 campaigns compared to the 7 campaign expansions.
An essential app for single player campaigns. this app keeps getting better and better. The inclusion for Jabba's realm and Return to Hoth really helps to keep games like this alive. Glad to see fanatasy flight is interested in producing more content for imperial assault. I can't wait for Twin Shadows, Bespin Gambit, and Tyrants of Lothal support!
Moderately well designed app adds a little more replay value to an already good board game. One campaign only, though. Needs two more campaigns for the basic set game in order to be 5 star. Would be nice if campaign was longer.
Decent tutorial with a link to rules for this specific version. Obviously you need the boxed game to play this. My biggest complaint is a few of the instruction screens come up in a different language and I know im missing information I need.
More campaigns would be great. For a $5 fee or so, id be down to pay that if they made dlc. Support the content on the shelves and make multiple campaigns for every boxed expansion, feels like a waist to buy $40 expansion and only get a 5 mission alliance mode campaign..
The app itself works great, but I just tried to do the first Mission in the Jabba expansion and the map is completely inaccurate along with the missions. can't even use it to do a campaign which is unfortunate with all else the app seems to offer.
Looks pretty good so far, needs scenario support for the actual Imperial assault missions as well as Twin shadows. if it did, I'd rate it a 5.
This requires the board game. It is not a stand alone game. It is a good app which lets you play app based campaigns in imperial Assault. Not the core campaign from the box.
This game is boring and isn't 3d. It also has no imperial mode to play on which means its limited to the rebels like if the developers thought we wouldn't get tired of fighting on one side only. The empire might be bad but we also like to play on their side
This is great, however it needs an update to include all expansions. Currently it's missing content.
Awesome. Just an awesome addition to a great game. Very good for single player as well. Please keep making more campaigns! Thank you!
The only thing that this app lacks is the possibility to sync your progress either in Google drive or some other place!
Good app. It's great to use to teach new players. I only wish it had even more content/missions!
The people who leave 1 star reviews don't understand this is a app that is meant for the board game so stop complaining because it's not a 80 board game for free. It's not meant to be a online board game. It's a great COMPANION APP
I love this companion app! I hope the IA community keeps going for a long time, I hope to see more physical expansions.
I love this app. Now we can all play against the Empire. I can even run a solo campaign if I want with this.
This is an awesome companion app to Imperial Assault. Almost done with my first playthrough and I plan to do many more!
Love it. It's a great alternative to the campaign books especially if you want a coop experience.
A great companion to the imperial assault board game series. We use it to play fully cooperative.
If true, and there's only one campaign, this is no value whatsoever. It's been what, THREE YEARS and you never released more than one campaign? Shame on you, FFG!
wont open on my tablet. it tries to connect to a downloadcenter or something..... works well on my smartphone.
Great job by Fantasy Flight. i am excited to see new campaigns being released for this!
So many retards not reading the description. Its a companion app for the board game not a standalone game. Some of the 1 star reviews are comical
Makes playing with small group or even solo possible. Great new way to play.
This app has breathed new life into imperial assault for me. Always wanted a "true" coop mode. I was extremely sceptical when I read that the app doesn't directly control individual units but I understand why they did it like that and I have to admit it works a lot better than I expected. The one thing that I found really lacking in campaign imperial assault was the storytelling. This also seems to have improved a lot, but I have only played 3 missions so far... a lot of effort has clearly gone into tweaking all the unit rules to make them work better in the app. There are of course some negatives as well, but are mainly centered around the simplistic control of the imperial units. So even though some tactical elements, like stun, has become weaker, it still has its own interest to play against a more predictable opponent with more units. I'm very happy about the ability to just select what expansions I have and the app will then try to utilize them. I haven't seen a single ad in the app or any "offer" of buying more stuff, but it still makes me want to in a good way so to speak. If you enjoyed the campaign mode but wished for a more coop experience you want to try this!
