Really neat toy, but unfortunately I can't seem to get him to link up with the app. He's powered on, my phone's bluetooth setting is turned on, but the app says that the droid needs to be turned on. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. : )
App works decently, droid does ok on a flat surface, overall its not too bad. Still has a few bugs but no big deal....HOWEVER, the personality of this droid and the one in the movie is COMPLETELY different! This thing just beeps, but in the movie he talks! THAT factor alone makes this a fail. Release an update that gives him speech and I'll delete this rating!....UPDATE!!! Redemption! He talks! Well done! I didn't delete so that you could see that they care...
Doesn't connect to D-0 even though it shows up in bluetooth selection. Also took a while to find app as it is not searchable in the play store. Though it is in the apple app store and working fine. This does not help me at all!! Tried resetting D-0, still no luck...
The droid itself is really lovely. Hes lovely to watch. I recieved the toy today driving him is very difficult in that if he falls over he stops working. If you stand him upright he wont re- engage and just flops over. Sometimes he works but most of the time once hes fallen over you have to restart the app or put him back in his holder and take him.put again. He also randomly descide to drive forward and not stop even if I'm not touching my phone. Not sure what to do.
Super cute and fun but when I saw he makes movie inspired noises I thought he would be saying his lines "no thank you" "squeak eliminated" etc. In addition to the boops/beeps. Sure he "talks" through the app but it isn't as nice or near as fun as the sound coming from the actual droid. He is still neat but I was pretty sad because I love his speech and it's just not the same coming from the app only.
Am amazed whem i saw this am not a fan of stars wars but the fact this little robot is amazing. Am a it guy and am try to introduce technology world to my son and i wosh you guus have more options to use and control this please dont stop updates or let us have the developer mode, i want to evolve this little machine 👏👏👏🙏
The D-O droid unit itself is fun to watch in action. He will topple a lot if you put him on an uneven surface, but when set on a COMPLETELY flat surface he will 98% self-balance, which is just amazing! This might be the droid you're looking for.... *UPDATE* When I saw D-O in action in the "Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker" movie... HE TALKS and my D-O only does the beeps and boops. Now surely Hasbro has the ability to make an update on both the app and the D-O droid to make him talk....
D-O is pretty cool but it won't turn. I don't know if that's an app problem or a problem with my D-O but I see the devs are active here and I can't find any way to contact customer service so hopefully they will be able to help me here...
Don't waste your money on this. Falls over every millisecond, hasn't found the ball in about 50 trys, even when it's 1 foot away from it. You'll probably get more enjoyment of you bought a handbrake for a canoe.
It doesn't teach you how to use the droid, unlike the Sphero ones. For example, when D-O complains about his squeaky wheel... how do you resolve it? All in all, it's a very clunky app.
I can't download it and I have done everything to try fix this and will give ya a better rating.
1st alone buy my 8y/o did with his saved up his money he was so looking forward to this only to be let down this thing doesnt stay up , wont find the ball, its just a horrible design and to make matters worse we ripped up the box in the excitment and couldnt return it brome my kids heart
Great product but why doesn't D-O talk through the phone, not his speaker!!? Was disappointed to find this out.
It keeps asking to turn on Bluetooth no matter how many times I allow it.
Won't connect to Droid. Sphero ones work alot better.
I connected from the lightsaber toy and it brought me to a different toy app experience.
Worst app you need to buy a toy to play I wish I could rate it zero
The robot just falls over every time and aways says its in the doc so controlls will not even work.

Fixed the falling over problem by adding small round diameter hair ties over the green lines on the wheel

D-O robot is most likely fun if i had one but i do have anki vector and cozmo
Shame he falls over.. A LOT. Any chance of an update to firmware so that he doesn't move his head to the side so fast creating too much side momentum causing the wobble and unstable turning? I get he needs to learn to turn but perhaps there's some fine tuning you can do in the firmware to make this smoother and perhaps reduce the amount of times he falls over...or is this a mechanical issue with the servo motor on his head mechanism?
