Starfall I'm Reading
The stories in this app contain a controlled vocabulary set, using the words most frequently encountered in print. The stories and activities reinforce high-frequency words, also called “sight words,” in sentences rather than in isolation. This ensures the young reader will make a meaningful association with each word and more readily commit it to memory. The stories can be read aloud to model the qualities of fluent reading: intonation, expression, inflection and rate. Users can enable or disable the AutoRead feature. Ear buttons are supplied for fluency when AutoRead is off.
The app includes:
Plays, Fiction/NonFiction, Comics, Folk Tales, Greek Myths, and Chinese Fables sections from the Starfall website.Controlled vocabulary, using words most frequently encountered in print.An AutoRead feature to model fluent reading, which can be disabled once your child is able to read independently.

It is excellent app my kids love it , I love it too. Using this app/ book my kids was able to practice reading with fun . Please get it. They get 3 of starfall products/app/book and they love all three. It is a great help for me to sometimes leave my children alone to just read and had fun all day. One is 4 years Old and she doesn't want to be bother when she's reading. Pls. Get it.
This app is excellent for beginning readers and early readers. The stories and illustrations are remarkable.
Maybe Starfall could add longer stories and have new characters but the game is Awesome.

Seem too good at first but couldn't help but recognized that there was no white kids in these books.

I really enjoyed this app and it will be easy for the younger users to maneuver and those that may have limited motor skills. It can be used as a good morning starter in the classroom or for a 5-minute in class break. This app offers a variety of activities that involve listening to stories such as folk-tales, fiction, non-fiction, and comic books. The user also has access to clip-and-drag puzzles to make sentences, clip-and-drag words to puzzle blocks, plays, Greek myths, Chinese fables, and a variety of lessons on morals, opposites, etc. However, there are in app purchases that will need to be made in order to gain access to other activities such as the talking library, money, and math links. I particularly like the way the stories are told. The words are highlighted as the narrator reads and the pages will not turn until the user clicks for it to, which may encourage the user to look at the illustrations to make predictions, perhaps try to read the words, and etc. Overall, I find this app to be very useful, especially for younger users and for those who struggle with reading and just needs something fun to play while increasing reading skills and much more.
