Starlight - Explore the Stars

After a year of working perfectly on my Samsung Galaxy S9, the App now crashes or goes to black screen every time I try to use it. Prior to this issue I'd have given Starlight a rating of 5 because I love its simplicity, accuracy, and user-friendly interface but it's almost useless now. I've uninstalled and reinstalled to get the latest version but that didn't resolve the issue. Please, please fix this previously super app!

Doesn't require to be connected with the internet (but do open it after download whilst connected to the internet). The good thing about this app is it's still accurate even after 2 weeks on no internet connection. It's great for stargazers who don't have any available internet connection; but in the event that you switched off your phone or restarted it, you'll need to open the app whilst connected to the internet.

Saved my night!! I was so excited for the chance to see Pluto tonight, had all my equipment set up and ready to go, and at the very last minute I discovered that absolutely none of the star/planet mapping apps that I was using included Pluto... except this one!! I went through at least 6 sky map apps tonight alone, and Starlight is the only one I'll be keeping. Thank you so much for keeping little Pluto around, devs!!

There is NO search function, and even when I was looking in the right direction, it cannot find the Perseid meteor shower. Apparently this common celestial event is not in its database, makes you wonder what else is missing. But very pretty user interface and very intuitive to use, you move your phone around to find the name of whatever star you're looking at.

Being a photographer, and always hunting for better pics of the moon or let's say Orion which is vividly present on the sky here in Trondheim, Norway at this time of year, finding any object, planet, visible Galaxy or astrological formation is piece of cake with the Starlight app. Been using it since 2017, and I am very pleased with it. The most brilliant feature for me is the way the app simulates what you cannot see, below the horizon. Very useful if you are for example waiting for moonrise

I saw what I thought was and satellite in the NE part of the sky, I think, an co-worker had the app and shared his findings, I doen loaded the app and shared it with my wife, we had been wondering just what that light,star,satellite was. It's nice to an answer to the questions we sometimes are curious about.

It works on my Samsung S5, with out technical problems, but it is seems as average toy, there is not zoom-in other than including very basic stars. This is for kids so to get an idea of the sky. Just an educational app. Now I have to move in to something more advanced.

Simply an excellent app. Clearly shows all the constellations. If there's a slight gripe, it's that is not easy to align it, if it doesn't point in the right direction when it starts.

If I could give it a zero, I would. Worked great until they added ads...now it is totally inaccurate after thr first ad pops up... which is about 10 seconds! Disappointing... they should just charge the buck 99 from the beginning...delete

Stars are bright and colorful that gives a magical experience. However, the text are large; it's much better to view the clear atmosphere. But honestly i've been used this app for a year when i am starting in constellation because of being beginner friendly.

The gps functionworks well enough to see the bit of sky youre pointing at but as soon as you try to zoom in it locks position and no amount of zooming reveals more detail. I thought this was a good app at the start, but itbhas since let me down.

Great app. only issue is that you cannot click indivudual objects to get their name and path, but that is due to my phone's operating sytem. There is another version from same developers that has that version.

Pretty good app. It lacks information about the constellations, so I personally don't have it anymore. However, for someone very young, like a toddler with a kiddie tablet who's just learning to read, it's perfect. I would download it for my 5 YO brother if he had a device.

Seriously disappointed in this app. After spending the money for the upgrade, the app stared having issues, timing out, etc. I regret loading this app. StarWalk2 is much better and without issues, despite the creepy music.

Very easy to see the night sky . Know what you are looking at. Then being able for awesome viewing with telescope. Great app . I have tried books, dials and such, nothing compares. This technology is awesome 🤩.

I love this app, but the reason I give it 4 stars is because I can see the dipper and orion and stuff but the constellations(sorry if i spelled that wrong) are just to close together! Like i cannot tell whats name is what! If there is an update can you make the constellations mote spread out and only say the constellation you're looking at if you know what I mean. Other than that, nice work! Thank You.

A useful app for locating or identifying any star, planet or anything you may not know or identify. It's even fun to scroll around and realize the placement of the sun , moon, etc. I never turned on the notifications so I don't know what it would notify you of. I am going to turn the notifications on and see what there is to notify me of.

Good app has more than enough constellations...... maybe to many. A little hard sometimes to see when one constellation opens over the one you want to focus on. I use it all the time though.

Just downloaded and scoped it out for a few minutes, it seems to be running great. (If the ads bother you, I guess just pay to remove)? I've played around with this app on some friends phones, and everything seems to be legit.

amazing to see everything. sometimes it seems a little off, but you can generally figure it out. really helps with figuring out which planet your are seeing.

It is the first app that I can use without connection. Is the best you can find it, you just need to put your phone in night sky, and just see the constellation. About months I was searching what constellation I fall in love, so I found with this wonderful app, it was Hercules. Thank you for creating this app.

Awesome app! Me and my daughter use it pretty much every night!!! We absolutely love it!!!! Ive used a few other apps that do the same things but this one is by far the best and shows the most stars and planets! Nothing bad to say and wouldnt change a thing!

Terrible...just recently installed and is inaccurate on the positioning' it also turns the screen black if you refuse to pay the 1.99 to remove the ads... I'm uninstalling it right away.

It's amazing that you can see these constellations! The names are so informative and I really enjoy the colors. I showed a neighbor and he immediately downloaded the app! If you want to entertain the kids of any age...give them your phone or give them your permission to download it on their phone.

I mean not nearly as good as Star lite. It showed you stars and constellations but I used my other 2 other star charts and they both proved this one to be inaccurate. With Star Lite if you click on the constellation or star you can get like 16 bonus facts while this one doesn't include that. I also found the horizon to be off as well. It failed to give me accurate and helpful information that I wanted to study astronomy. To write my feedback I had to rate it but I would honestly give it a zero.

Excellent, simply put, excellent. I love it. Seeing the universe about & knowing the constellation of where the stars & planets are is...EXCELLENT. Can't add anything more to using this app. It's just awesome.
