Fails to deliver. I purchased this app sever years ago, when their website changed to subscription based. Originally billed as pay once, gree access thereafter. Over the last few years content has steadily become more restrictive, but the main headlines have always. Send readable. Now, on the app I purchased, I cannot access any content. Good job, Stripes. Instead of subsidizing your government funding with data from me as a reader, I will go elsewhere for my news.
Disappointed, I have a digital subscription and can sign in on the website however, cannot sign in on the app. Have cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled but neither works. Why have an app if you can't sign in with your account info. I did email member services on 14 March 2020, have not received a response. UPDATE: Fixed my login issues, all is good. Great app for folks living overseas in military community.
The UI of the app looks fine, but it crashes each time I attempt to login to my account. I can login on desktop without any issues, so there is no problem with my credentials.
Love the paper, but I've deleted and reinstalled the app. No updated articles, can't sign in. Even when I could sign in, every time I closed out the app, it would sign me out. This is very upsetting for a $40 a year investment.
Being a military brat who spent a large part of my childhood and my own military career oversees, Stars & Stripes is my newspaper! I have also found it to be one of the most moderate papers I have ever read. They are also very responsive to the readers. If we feel that they begin to go off the rails and inform them of our feelings, they tend to right the ship. Great paper, people, articles, and news source!
pretty disappointed, i paid for the app a few years back so I could have full access. Now I'm being asked to pay a subscription to view what I already had access to. I'm on a limited income and can't really justify spending the extra money. Especially since I had already paid for it. No thanks.
Lost password and can't get a reset. What a rip off.
It has been 3 months and the page will not show new content. There is no update on Google play. Basically paying for stars and stripes that doesn't work anymore. It worked fine for a year now nothing.
The news articles never get updated. The print version of the newspaper is not readable without zooming in, but then you can't scroll around.
Does not work for digital access after I paid for 1 year subscription. Every time I log in the app stops - very aggravating. I uninstalled and reinstalled but still does not work
Not a complete version of the Stars and Stripes paper. Too many incidents of Cannot find this page on server.Nov 21 2020 update. Still getting "the requested URL cannot be found on this server. Auto update on." I'm done!
Very good Military News, world wide and specific to your region. Better than the Branch specific news. Be sure to subscribe at the discounted rate.
Like so many others, I paid for the app. Now they want me to pay for a subscription on top of that. Shame on you, Stars and Stripes. You have lost his reader for good.

The best source of military news by service members for service members. I started reading the Stars and Stripes on my first overseas tour and now it is my favorite newspaper on military news. Keep up the great work Stars & Stripes, your the best.
Here is an idea give me the money back I paid for the app so I could get all the content. Like others have said you can get all of this content elsewhere for free so I won't be paying $40 for someone else's news. Don't download not worth it.
From an app perspective, it's solid in terms of organization and UI. From a price standpoint, it's 1 star ridiculous. Without an overpriced subscription, one can only read the front page stories. For all the other sections, one just has to search Google for the subject story and almost certainly find it for free from multiple other news source. To have to pay $40 a year for very little original content is insulting. As it's partially partially subsidized by the US gov (taxpayers), I would think $12 a year maximum (with no ads) and free with ads would be fair. Otherwise it's a 1 star rip-off.
