Pretty good shows and movies to choose from. I just hate spending $8.99 a month. It adds up with the other streaming subscriptions I have. But it's still less than actual cable so. All in all I have no complaints. Easy to cancel and re subscribe if need be which I have done as well Thanks Starz!
Signed up for the 2.99/month offer. Charged my card but said payment declined. Tried again & worked. Set up account & clicked to add app from Google play. Screen comes up that says I don't have an account. Tried to create one with same info I used the first time & it says account already exists. But it won't leave that page. Nowhere to sign in just create account. Uninstalled & reinstalled & same thing.
When first downloaded it worked fine. Now I can't watch something for more than 2 seconds without it freezing up literally and it's everytime I open the app. About to cancel my subscription and go back to YouTube very annoying and not worth the money.
Yesterday I paid to renew my subscription and it worked fine . Today it won't even load . My phone says the app doesn't need updated and my TV is up to date. Please fix because I cannot waste money on an app that doesn't work!!! I would give a five star rating if it actually worked!
It takes forever to download anything from this app. Other apps are smart and will download one episode or movie at a time. This app downloads everything at once. I was hoping for the best but in comparison to Other apps, this is fustrating because the app is not smart.
My app won't keep me logged in and won't keep my progress on the episodes I've watched. Very annoying when I have to log in every time, search for my show and then figure out which episode I'm on.
Horrible quality! Do not use the app. Not to mention they dont put all the seasons to their OWN original shows. It goes in and out of standard and HD quality, and lags. Dont know how they're legally getting away with this.
It's a collection of stupid old movies obody wants to watch. I didn't even have the app on my phone for three weeks it was so bad. But they still kept hitting my bank and hitting my bank till they finally was able to charge me. So if you do try them don't forget to cancel or else they'll keep trying till they get your last dollar and refuse to return it even if it's all you had to get you and your dog something to eat that day. Better get don't even try them is my advice.
Would be 4 stars,but why do I have to watch a 30 second 'promotion' to watch something on a premium subscription service. This is annoying and makes me not want to keep my aubscription. Heck, prime video lets you skip the promotion. This was the primary factor of stopping my paramount subscription. The text and movie pics are small, makes them hard to read when looking at their selection.
Yesterday, March 31, 2022, I began a 6-month trial for $20 and the app is already not working!! When I tap on the icon to open the app the name "Starz" appears with an entirely black background and then NOTHING!! It doesn't even open, showing the different programs/movies/etc you could choose to watch. It worked just fine when I first installed it but not now. I'm very disappointed with my experience thus far. I hope it will either fix itself or I will be able to do so trying every little thing
Update trashed the apps playback quality. The movies are so pixelated they're impossible to watch. Before the update there was no issue and I preferred the app over other streaming services.
Haven't been able to access Starz on my tv for the last few days, in addition, the app has also disappeared. If I click on an offering the image is just frozen. It appears that Starz has dropped my account. How can this be fixed?
Disgraceful app still now its locking content off from subscriptions through cable providers. Its as if Starz wants to loose customers and doesn't care that a person pays a full cable subscription to the Starz service and to get access for all its content both through cable Tv as well as the supported app; but can't do so due to some bs about upgrading your account when there is no way to upgrade it. Poor customer service Starz, really poor!
The Starz app is in my experience one of the easiest to navigate. It's got an excellent choice of movies (and shows , but I'm into movies. It's unlike many of the other apps in the sense that they can be "glitchy" and it's very inexpensive if you look for a promotion. I just got 6 months for $20.00! That literally can't be matched. 1 month of some similar services is in that ballpark so I recommend it for all of those reasons.
Unable to watch certain titles using the Android app, even having all channels through Verizon. All bring directed to "upgrade" the account. Have uninstalled/reinstalled and logged out then back in with no luck. Not all titles are actually locked. Am not sure why this is happening but after searching for a solution online, i know i'm not alone. Please try and fix this issue as there is literally no way to upgrade, as the app is trying to force me to do.
Half the time it won't play anything. You click on your episode and it just acts like it's loading forever and never does. If you get it to load then you better not exit out until you're done watching because you probably won't get it to work again. I have excellent wifi and all of my other streaming apps work perfectly.
Created an account online. Downloaded the app. Won't take me to a sign on page and won't let me create a new account because i already have an account. I paid to be able to watch on whole on not attached to my pc, but you have my money and i can't get in the app
Has some issues with running on wifi even with perfect signal (as inside my house not ten feet from the router), insists signal strength is low and runs on my phone data. I have unlimited on my phone so it isn't a real issue but for someone else, it would be.
While I can open the app on My Sony Google TV, Pixel 4, or Galaxy Tablet and view the offerings, the video won't play when selected. But I can play the videos just fine when accessing my account from a web browser. Starz has not responded to my email.
Starz doesn't even carry the entire catalogue of their own content. I recently renewed my subscription to finish American Gods, only to find that Starz has removed seasons 2 and 3 entirely (even though Starz still advertises for those seasons and season 1 is still available). Feels like a bait and switch. Will not renew or resubscribe again.
Was working fine. Now it's telling me it's unavailable for my region uh what? I'm not using a VPN either. Then it tells me I have no internet connection. Yet I have all data turned on for the app.
An abundance of the movie seem to be older. I tried to cancel my subscription and it won't let me. I went to the manage settings and manage subscriptions and I get a rectangular box that keeps spinning and then it sends me back to the main page. I've emailed them they won't respond. So I'm stuck with this membership that I really don't want. Be careful if you download it and you want to cancel that subscription it's not going to let you.
Every evening when i try to watch anything i get a playback error. I've tried it on and off WiFi same results. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing works. I even downloaded the shows and same message. I've sent emails but no response. Guess I'll have to cancel my subscription.
I have been trying to cancel this subscription for over 2 weeks now. The app isn't working and my billing date is coming up next month. I'm giving 1 star due to this issue. It won't even let me send a message to starz so I'm doing it this way. Besides this issue the app has been working fine for me. When I can resolve this issue I will be adding back the 5 stars I originally gave this app.
App is good and works great on my Chromecast TV dongle and also on Roku never had any issues for a year singed up to Starz , I don't know what these people talking about, BUT not much 4K contents for the premium monthly price & MOST contents appealing to black cultures, cancelled it.
I agree with some of the other opinions on this service. I do not like it when there is a preview of another movie before the movie selected for viewing or constant downloading of Starz for the service.
Just started my trial subscription of STARZ and I love the ease of use and how easy it is to pause to pick up and view whatever I'm watching, right where I left off. So easy. I never thought I would watch program on my cell phone, but in many ways I actually like it better than recorded programs or series on my TIVO, because of the ease of use, going in and out of whatever I'm watching, and I can have access wherever I take my phone–not so with being tethered to my TV & TIVO. 🖐🏼👍🏼
