Staying Alive

Staying Alive provides defibrillator mapping. The App is available in 18 languages and maps over 80.000 defibrillators worldwide.
Staying Alive is an award winning free App designed and developed by AEDMAP.

Main features include:

- AED location : locate an AED close to you or in a specific address, through the use of an embedded database that is updated each time you launch the application.

- Reporting of new AED.You can post new defibrillators even without network connection. They will be sent to the server as soon as you connect again. The application integrates Facebook and Twitter API to share reports of defibrillators on social networks.

- The reminding of CPR gesture with illustration of the survival chain "Call, Start CPR, Shock and wait for help"

- A practical guide on the use of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).

- An "Emergency" mode that will help you to make the right things in the right order. The new emergency mode detects automatically the local number depending on you location

- First responders network: If you are trained to CPR you can register through the App as a First Responder. You can then be notified by the EMS in case of cardiac arrest near you to provide CPR. Staying Alive First Responder technology works in France, Belgium and Switzerland so far.The location and the list of defibrillators supplied by this application are given as an indication. Please note that this application is interactive and that the data provided by users will not be checked by a dedicated organization. The RMC / BFM Association is not liable for any errors in the locations of defibrillators.

Seems to be the only aed locator which has a complete database of my local defibs (i have tried 3 others). It would be much better if the app size was smaller. 60mb is a lot when you only have 8gb storage.:\ great idea though. Everyone should be able to find one in energencies.

I am tasked with entering over 100 AEDs in my area. However, despite saying "This AED has been added", it fails to show. Stranger still is that some of these will appear at a later date on the map only to disappear again. I asked my wife to check on her phone supposing that this might be a problem with my mobile, but she too couldn't see those I've added. Living in a tourist area I am anxious to get this done while the season's here, but I'm frustrated by this problem. I have raised a support ticket but this hasn't been answered yet. Not very impressed.

Great app, but outdated information in my area. When I try to add new defibs I get an error ("An error occurred, check the fields") despite checking the fields multiple times. I'd love to enhance the app by adding defibs in my area - I'm in UK on a Oneplus 5T

I wanted to register as a citizen responder in my area, but it won't accept my Canadian postal code. It just continues to say invalid zip, but zip codes aren't used in my country. I haven't yet used the app otherwise.

Just joined the app. All AEDS in my area located. This will significantly increase chain of survival in cardiac arrest.

My nearest AED, been there for years, isn't shown. No confidence in the app.

Great idea, but although it's not been 'used' by me today it's reported to have used 24% of my battery - so unistalling.

The app does not send me a confirmation text to my phone number

Says Australian number to validate then you enter your (zip) aka post code and it says invalid... your app should list countries.

Everything works ok. Everyday new defibrillators are added. However, when I'm trying to sign up as a reponder and I'm uploading my certificate the app keeps crushing.

It's just horrible. Difficult to use. I started using Defiblocator. That app is way better.

Cha. B. Jun 29, 2017

Not OK for locating. It says there are no defibs in Huddersfield

Cla. D. Jun 15, 2016

Good idea but waste of time. Didn't work in UK. Seemed there was a complicated process in order to show any AEDs. WHY?

Really, some AEG's (who're named after the building where to find them) are way off! It's something to know the name.. But needs to become more intuitive, correct and straightforward to use.
