Had free steak burger for my birthday. Tried to place mobile order, and it only had 1 menu item, weird but I guess it's a bug. It's cool, I'll just go into the store. When I try to open up the coupon "unfortunately you have clicked on too many offers". Can't open for 3 hours! Now I can't use the coupon, ironically this is a new store so it's all large tablet orders anyway. Had to discuss with manager. This seems like an app designed by a contractor staff with poor requirements.
Still needs work! Can only use gift cards on drive-thru or car hop. If you want to use the app and use a gift card to dine in, you cant! Also, can't combine gift card balances. Also, the app says to scan your receipt for points if they forget to use the rewards code. It says press the button to scan, but there is no button. The worst part is you can't order 1/2 price shakes using the app. What's the point of the app???!!!
Haven't used this app since some time after they changed it from the original app. The original app worked just fine, but the update was a POS. Since they advertised some time back that the app was updated again I thought I would give it a try. Well, I only have one positive comment about it. The app recognized me the first time I logged in, displaying my name at the top of the page. I could not find any way of adding a payment method to the app as in the past, either by adding a credit card or
Update: placed an order on the app today and was able to load a credit card for payment. Had been able to use Google Pay only. Progress being made, no there quite yet. I still can't use the giftcard (been on the app for over 2 years) on the app for payment. And yes, the double cheeseburger and fries were delicious.
Unable to use any payment method. The app is good if you want to look at the menu and the available options for the food, but it is impossible to add a payment method and actually place an order. I have tried with both Google Pay and my actual debit card and get the same response of Invalid Card or unable to process. This app was really good years ago, but now it is just broken.
This app is buggy, doesn't display your full delivery address so you can confirm they are delivering to the correct address and then the account settings page where your supposed to be able to change your accounts details does nothing, it has no options to make any changes to your account. Do yourself a favor and order from somewhere else. **Update my order was payed for by me and delivered to somebody else**
Cumbersome. App does not make it easier to order than going to the drive-thru or counter. A lot of taps just to order. Cannot compare/see pricing. until tapping on meal/product. I'd rather show up at the restaurant than order via app. Uninstalling.
Steak and shake has self-serve pay kiosk, but the receipt that prints out does not have a barcode on it so you cannot redeem the points in the application if you eat inside the restaurant. There is nothing on the receipt that you can use instead of the barcode. Steak and shake needs to fix this since they're going to self-serve restaurant.
They pretended to give me a free meal for my birthday but I can't redeem it in the app because apparently I clicked the offer too many times? This worthless feature has made it impossible to actually use my coupon and I'm leaving the restaurant empty-handed. Thanks for wasting my time and making my day that much worse.
Can't click "sign up" to finish creating an account... Basically making the app useless. Also, when trying to put I'm my birthday, the year switches from a year in the 19's to the year 2000.
App was straightforward, easy to change password, easy to select store, easy to add payment source, etc (in other Apps ALL of this can sometimes be an ordeal). So far no problems.
Error accepting my payment information, though I've entered it correctly a number of times, and using the Free Milkshake reward gives an error message saying that it is invalid, no matter which shake I select. Guess I'll try again some other time, but this is an awful first impression.
Very weird reward redemption system. Clicked on the reward to view it better, left the app for a few minutes, then tried to redeem it but instead recieved a message that there were "multiple attempts to redeem in a short period of time" and to try again in three hours. Much better than the system a few months ago, but still confusing.
Not able to fully customize burgers to my liking. Such as sub out regular bun for sourdough or add different spreads/ sauces. Biggest thing is the rewards system has not worked thr 3 times I've tried in the past year. This is why I rarely come to steak n shake anymore. When covid hit this company just fell hard and I don't think they will ever recover. It's sad
Update: I called myself giving them another chance (shame on me) and they charged me for a small cheese fry that was not delivered with my order. I have tried to email them but that was like 4 days ago and NO RESPONSE. I requested a refund for it and still nothing. APP IS STILL AS TERRIBLE AS THE SERVICE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.
Easy to use app. I just wish I could use the app at the kiosk in the restaurant so I can earn my points. The kiosk doesn't print a barcode for me to scan.
It doesn't work... Like it keeps giving an "invalid card" error on the checkout screen when trying to place an order in advance. Regardless if I use my card info or Google Pay.
Even after being redesigned, the app still works poorly. I tried to redeem a reward and it failed to apply to the item, despite it being correct. Why not just have the reward add the item to my cart automatically? As a bonus they've raised all of their prices too.
Scan feature now doesn't work. It use to work before the update. I have missed out on 3 visits I have had in the last month. Not happy
Great app! User friendly. It would be nice to have a menue on their, and not have to go to "place order" to look at it, but other than that, I have nothing bad to say. It's nice 😄
Who does not love Steak & Shake? I will tell you who. Those that have not tried it! You simply can not miss with this place. Something for everyone. Fantastic food at a super reasonable price
We used to love this place. The food was great, the people were nice, and the price was amazing. But as time has passed this place has fallen to pieces. Today's order was so nasty. The fries were cold and just thrown into a paper bag, which was hella greasy. The onion rings were slimy and appeared to be as if they balled the onions into one big ball, put the flour on it, and cooked it like a baseball. This isn't the first time, but it will definitely be our last. We'll stick with Freddy's.
Being able to pay with Google Pay is very useful, so thank you for that. A few suggestions: Sign in with Google and the ability to save our Rewards QR to Google Pay as a pass would be fantastic.
Don't not put gift cards the app or try to use on the kiosk. Neither will work and I can't sign in and I have around 70 or so on my app . So called to see why cards wouldn't work but says they did when the kiosk said will not and so we had to give to the lady to use on the other computer and not cheated out of money I feel and same with my son
Online ordering was easy. Would like to have made some customizations though. Really happy free delivery is offered. First try, hoping food is correct & hot.
Do not order through this app. We have tried it twice. Both times our shakes, drinks and a few other items were missing.
Gift card don't work. Bought a gift card to use on the app and it just keeps popping up an error. Why bother having it an option if you can't even use it. What a waste
Awful app. They changed it just as they got it working. No longer giving me reward points for purchases and employees know less than I do. Can't enter credit card for purchases. Had an order go thru and was charged for it and store had no record and denied me my puchase. Can NOT contact corporate whatsoever. Don't answer phones or reply to emails. S&S is on cusp of bankruptcy and probably needs to go. It's a shame because it's good, inexpensive food and I can't imagine how they screwed it up so.
The app itself is terrible. It frequently won't let you leave the cart without starting over, it suggests adding things but won't actually let you add them with the button they provide due to an error, and the layout is frustrating. Add in the horrible delivery time (over 90 minutes from order to delivery) and I'll definitely never be using this again.
