I'm plain amazed this is free. It's a bit off with temperatures but that's fine for me. Most popular cuts are there, has perfect timing a lot of the time. Accounts for thickness and stove. I'm always using this app whenever i cook a steak. Reverse searing and meh-ish timing for basting would be cool but its great as it is. (Reverse searing temps, timing, thickness, etc.)
Really nice interface but the timings don't work for me. A 1.9cm Rump Med to well done takes 16 mins under my gas grill but this app states 11mins. Maybe this assumes a hotter/closer grill but the ability to vary the heat would be great. Want to use for multiple steaks, 1 well done, 1 med done etc. Which the app caters for superbly but I need to be able to tweak the timings. A user slider to tweak timings by +/- percentage would be great.
This app is useful & fantastic... When it works. It used to work great, all features. Recently both my phone & my old phone can't have two steaks cooking at once anymore. It asks me to name them although even if I do it gets stuck in a loop of asking me to name it when I try and add another steak timer.
Superb.. time is nearly on point. For the final check I always use a trusty instant read thermometer. Sometimes depending on the wind conditions I need to cook a little longer, however like said the timiy is nearly on point at least for Medium.
Not bad, pretty good app. Has many of the features i want. Best steak app I've tried. The times are perfect for the doneness i want medium\rare and medium. My one critique is that you cannot adjust settings like centimeter to inch (for us Yanks) and alarm sounds for when to flip steak etc.
What a great app. I measured the thickness of 4 different steaks precisely using a cocktail stick and then added them to the queue. So easy to follow and best of all, they came out just right - all at Medium Rare just as requested.
Tried with a rib eye, eye fillet and T-Bone. Dialled my teppan up to medium, and all three times came out bang on perfect. I suppose everyone's cooking platforms are different, but for me this is very accurate. I also like to smoke steak so thinking of pulling up a doneness band sooner and things should turn out OK.
User interface seemed very nice at first (selecting cut, thickness, etc), but dealing with multiple items in the queue quickly degenerated into utter confusion. All the different steaks seemed to take the same amount of time.
Good little app, tried it on a nice fillet steak...came out perfect. But minus 3 stars for being in centimetres with no option to change to English, no Tomahawk steak and instead of using the phone's own notification sound a choice of sound file built into the app would be much better...maybe a Joanna Lumley type voice telling you to turn your meat over?
App would be great if it wasn't so frustrating to use. Did no one test this? Buttons on the UI don't work. Options aren't intuitive.
Could really really do with alarms for when to flip and telling you how long each stage is before instead of having to keep an eye on the timer all the time.
This app always undercooked my steaks, even when I overcompensare on how thick they are, and how done I want them. I really want to like it and will check back in on it in a few months
Really useful if you get distracted while cooking results so far have been excellent.
Bug means you can only add 1 steak at once, a dialog box "you must name this steak" pops up no matter what you do you cannot add any more steaks
Was a good app. Now won't let me have multiple steaks on the go. I add one as usual then try to add another and says I need to rename and add to queue. Did this, same error message. Not good now
Can't add multiple steaks any more. Rendering it useless. Edit. 3 months later. Still the same issue. Trash app and trash developers
Pretty good app for beginners like me to get a handle on cooking steak. Need to key in as accurate details for best results.
this app is so hit and miss. if you want to cook steak properly use trial and error, watch some videos online and learn over time how to get a good steak. don't trust this mediocre app with your food.
works brilliant. Use Filet for Tuna and Swordfish! live it. multiple steaks in the Q and all will be ready at the se time.
Way to many instructions. Just let me cook a steak. Hard to know if your settings are correct. And 17 minutes for a medium rare stea?? Sounds too long
Perfection.i haven't looked back since I started using this app. It's easy and gets it right every time.
Tryed to put in multiple steaks and it prompts you to name the new steak but for the life of me I can't find a way to do it.

Why not add cuts and some recipes into the same app? Like some of the drinks apps
I'm sorry to ask...., but wouldn't you need to know the temperature of the bloody bbq gril in order to align all those cuts and times? If your grill cooks at 350F versus 450F will have an impact on time. I think this is too oversimplified.

Continuous loops that you must name your steak but never have the option.
I've used this a few times now to cook multiple steaks for people with different needs and it's always been perfect for everyone. My only issue is that I can't figure out how to edit or clone a favourite, all I can do is delete or add to queue. If I'm cooking 8 identical steaks, and the only difference is "doneness" it would be great to just copy in the queue. Five stars anyway cos I have a belly full of perfect rare rump steak and that makes me happy.
