I think it is one tool to use for communication about driving stafery. It is too sensitive to be really accurate. It deducts points for any sudden movement. It thinks going downhill you're braking too hard, and going uphill it thinks you're speeding up dangerously fast. Your phone needs to be on a flat surface, it must be stable enough not to slide The safety modules are really good.

Sometimes a delay in loading the following screen to where you currently are, and causes issues with getting to the next page, so you sometimes have to close the app and reopen it. There are also times where the screen will darken and then pop back up almost instantly, but it's never consistent.

It was fun, it remind me of a video game. You turn it on, drive to your destination and get a score on how you did getting there. None of it affects how much you are paying. You are basicaly tracking how well you accelorate , brake and cornering and the better you do and how often you use it, it will reward you badges like a real game. Its awsome. Im so much better driving now than before.

The app is too sensitive given that it does not know the context of the road you are driving on. For example, it docks while driving on non-perfect roads (rough, curvy, busy, etc.) Accelerating on an on ramp or when turning onto a busy street are acceptable practices. I have taken drives with my children being extra safe and careful, and have gotten rotten scores. It makes no sense and does not give specific timing or information on which particular incident it did not like.

I didn't want to install this app in the first place. I was forced. My experience with the app wasn't any better. Using the modules to watch videos resulted in an error message and a experienced several freezes on the badges screen

The app has very many flaws, loke for example when you use a USB port on your phone that connects to a stereo, it doesnt run. If you shut your ohone off after starting the app, it doesnt track your time. It also randomly closes itself out.

It's a good concept and the discount is nice, modules have good info, however the tracking is super sensitive, I'll drive very safe and it gives me braking and acceleration warnings all the time, even though that's not how I drive at all.

Impossible to get a good braking score without staying half a mile behind cars and braking over such a long period that your car doesn't even drop back/settle when you come to a stop. Otherwise works as intended.

Practicing parking, driving in neighborhoods, and carrying in your pocket while driving will all earn you low scores. Parent and child apps do not synch and need manual intervention, which isn't easy to find.

Using it to watch ur driving is good and all but driving in a truck where its shaking it always says that it cant score my driveing because sudden phone movement. Then when to stop it for recording driveing if u dont stop it fast enough is say it cant score it. Yep dont like it.

The system and modules is well thought out. But the mode where you use the gyroscope can be very touchy and miss identifies braking and acceleration.

There are some problems with how the app tracks your acceleration, braking, and cornering. One issue is that I have received acceleration alerts for picking up/putting down my phone when I was trying to start/stop recording the drive. I also found that if you put your device on a slope after calibrating, the app thinks that you are constantly moving in the sloped direction. In my case, this resulted in several acceleration alerts and no braking alerts.

Im not pleased with this app. The video modules are great, but the driving mode sucks. I drive like a granny but it gives me acceleration/braking warnings every now and again even if I do the same thing the whole drive. There is a lack of accuracy. Ive used it with other people in the car and asked if I accelerated or braked too fast at the points the apps said and they tell me no. It also freezes and I have to restart it most of the time. There have been a few drives it didnt track as well.

The videos are great and very helpful, especially if it's been a while since you've taken Driver's Ed! They're full of great information that's easy to understand. Edit: I bumped my review up a lot because I actually hadn't been using this right! The tracker is inaccurate if you don't allow the app to access your location constantly, so when I let it access it constantly, it was totally fine. I had a much better experience when I figured that out! And thank you for replying! :)

The app is very good for the module part, however the driving part of the app is terrible. It gives ratings on acceleration, braking, and cornering. It would be bettef if the ratings took into account the road conditions. For example, it gives you a poor rating for acceleration if you have to accelerate up a hill. Another problem is that it caps the time recorded at 30 minutes which is not helpful at all. The biggest problem is that bumpy roads screw up the ratings system.

It is highly inaccurate. I've gotten, to no exaggeration, 384 braking alerts in the four trips I've used it. I only drive on the highway, and two of those instances were straight shots at night with no traffic. These trips are also short -- 10-15 minutes from my house WITH traffic, and about 7 without. I know I didn't brake too fast almost 100 times a trip -- it seems impossible for me to have done that. I'm just hoping the app's inaccuracies won't reflect negatively on my insurance.

It's a great idea for young drivers to get a discount on insurance. The modules are super educational with driver safety and great driving tips. However, the driving portion needs works. You have to manually start your drive to record you driving hours, and if my phone locked then I would lose my driving progress. It was frustrating to deal with and was more of a distraction when I was driving since I had to constantly look down at my phone to make sure it was still on and recording.

I love the modules because they were full of helpful tips to learn when driving. This app has made me more of a cautious driver because I more intentional of the way I brake, turn corners and how heavy I was pushing on the gas pedal. Although this app is beneficial in many ways, I don't like how sensitive it is when driving on bumpy roads. There were plenty of times when it didn't track my drive because it said that there was a sudden movement that messed the tracking up.

Not for Beginners driving Manual. This app is put together really well. The only downside is that it rates harshly on new Manual drivers. I am new to driving a Manual, and every time I take a trip it claims, "Hard breaking." This happens every time I downshift. Also this may occur because I'm not the best at easing in the clutch. But I think this app should have an option for driving a Manual, or an Automatic.

This app is beyond frustrating. I've done several 2 hour drives and it will stop tracking my drive after 30 minutes. It even shows that my end destination point is the middle of a freeway which is ridiculous because who stops on the freeway? It also keeps telling me my phone had sudden movements even though it didn't move once. This app is terrible and a waste of time. I've had it crash in the middle of drives. It's not worth the time and frustration for the discount.

Very buggy, crashes a lot when starting up. You can't have they phone in a holder, it must be laid horizontally. It constantly logs breaking and acceleration events even when driving on smooth freeway stretches. About half the time it says it can't score the drive due to sudden movements despite laying still on the dash the entire time. We're going to complete the required time for the discount, but it isn't a good tool for diagnosing driving habits due to the high number of false positives.

the video modules are very helpful and good to know, how ever, the "start drive" option frustrates me a lot. 3 different times the app has "stopped working" and my 30 minute drives did not count because of this. wasted gas and time because i only went that far to get more drive time done. The app will randomly be unresponsive and stop working only durring the "start drive" option on the app, and i dont check my phone while driving, so the long distance drives i did didn't count and i had no idea.

This thing is inaccurate as hell more than half the time it doesn't recorded my trip I have the correct location permissions allowed for the app and since it only recorded 30 min at a time if you go any longer it cancels the entire trip and you dont get the 30 min. The only option is to stop the app and start a new drive. This is counter intuitive if they dont want you on your phone but you have to be if you plan on driving for more than 30 min. What a complete waste of time and effort.

I have so many issues with this app. Not only does it not record past 30 minutes of driving, but even if you happen to slightly move it, it inaccurately records the "scores". I simply just use it to keep track of my driving sessions despite whatever happens to the scores, even then, I can't go past 30 minutes without the app automatically kicking the time off.

I had a lot of problems with the app overall. At first it gave me accurate scores but then it started to not work because it would say I drove under a mile. I fixed that by going to Google Maps before stopping the drive so it knew my location. The other problem I had was it wouldn't give accurate scores at all. Lots of my scores were around 50 and that wasn't accurate to my driving at all. I finally finished the 5 hours of driving, but had a lot of trouble along the way.

I really dislike this app. I'm having to learn several things that I already am aware of just so my mother would maybe get a discount for the insurance that the family shares. Some of the modules don't load questions correctly and I have to rewatch a video several times before they do. Recording driving is unreliable; it often misreads my results as "concerning" because of big spikes in the trip path, which could be due to spotty reception or whatever else. I don't recommend at all.

There were many times(almost 1/2 of my drives) where it correctly kept track of trip miles, but failed to correctly capture time. I would finish a 29 mile drive(which it tracked) only to open up the app to see that the timer wasn't counting. So, I'd end up having long 25+ mile drives that say they somehow took 30 seconds deleted because they were "too short". I'm pretty sure my car isn't capable of going mach 3, so my guess is that someone didn't program the timer correctly.

Not accurate! First trip seemed accurate. Second trip was recorded in duplicate. Third trip was not recorded because app detected substantial phone movement. The phone was never touched and never moved! The trip was very smooth. Fourth trip got scores of only 50% for each category which was absolutely wrong. The trip was quite smooth with no hard acceleration, braking, or cornering.

I think the app is made with good intentions but there are some bugs with the system. I was able to watch the modules without an issue however if sometimes the app would glitch out and not record time and mileage I drove. Short distance that were a 10 minute drive would sometimes be recorded and other times not. And sometimes half hour drives weren't recorded "because I didn't go further than a mile" which was far from the truth. It made it difficult to reach the 5hr requirement.

I wish it didn't stop after 30 minutes. It made driving annoying. Every stop, park, or even touch of the break. Was a "hard break". I was parked for 2 minutes picking up a friend from work and it counted multiple hard breaks while I wasn't even moving. The app needs work. However the modules were clear and made things understandable from most peoples POV.
