Idk if this version has been discontinued or not, that would be too bad. I also have mobile+, but use this 98% of the time. The newer do provide many useful features, but I find this version cleaner, easier to navigate, and lines are narrower. Drag sky to change time function is extremely helpful. The number of stars are limited, that turned out to be an advantage. I often use this app to help me do star-hopping, fewer stars actually make this easier. The newer version is just too crammed.

It's a good app for navigating the stars. I would use it more but the softkey navbar won't go away. So while I'm at a dark site and open the app my night vision is completely lost with a solid white bar at the bottom of the app. I have to cover the bar the best I can with one hand and operate the app with the other....not ideal to say the least. Hopefully they can fix this, btw the phone is the Galaxy S10 if the developers want to look into it.

Hi , I will update my review if I can figure out what has gone wrong with the app in the past few days. It was working perfectly and I totally loved it but it suddenly stopped showing the correct direction I aim for. Would installing and reinstalling the app fix it? If I do that do I need to pay the new subscription? I would pay it again if I knew that it would fix it. Other than that, my compass. calibration seems to be correct on Google maps. I have an Samsung S7. Thanks for the help!

Wonderful overall look, but cumbersome. Forgets all your setting up every time its closed!! only thing I found persistent was city/country (good thing as took 9 tries to enter it). So, every time you start it, you must restore the many menu choices, zoom, time/date if not current time, etc.. etc.. to mostly the very same as you did last/every time!

This app has been my companion when stargazing for the past week and the experience is, overall, excellent. The stars and planets are shown very realistically, representing which ones are easier and harder to see, so to speak. I've been having some issues while using the GPS mode, even after calibrating the compass, it's not always 100% accurate, it still helps me by giving me a general idea of where I am looking, but so far I've been unable to pinpoint individual stars using this mode.

i use this app for several years, and i also have the desktop version. actually i use the desktop much more frequently. this mobile version is good, but has some frustrating points. 1. it does not have the "equatorial mount mode". i often try locating nebulae and clusters by looking into the star map closely. in such situations, the vertical/horizontal movement is inconvenient. i really long for the equatorial mode. 2. star drawing size is generally too big and it makes the screen very crowded. no setting items to change the star sizes. i want an option to choose sizes. i will really appreciate if the developer consider these points.

The map is impossible to move around. Trying to zoom, center and rotate to a specific point in the sky is incredibly frustrating to the point where I bought it and within an hour I just went back to using Google Sky Map. Sure Sky Map lacks a lot of objects and the helpful object data and images, but at least I can move around. I cannot find documentation on how to make this app easier to use and I'm shocked by all the 4 and 5 star ratings. I am sure I am missing some key element of how to navigate within the star map, but that it eludes me also says something about the app. Having a degree in computer science, a number of courses in astronomy and physics and over 4 decades as an amateur astronomer and avid astrophotographer doesn't seem to help make good use of Stellarium.

its ok to find out where clusters or stars or what ever are, but when you use the sensor mode to look around, it faces south while you are actually facing the opposite direction. bought the pro version of it thinking it would be better... how wrong i was, it was worse. Cant even use my finger to look around properly with it. It just goes all out of wack. Tried to uninstall and reinstall and its the same. Even tried to calibrate the sensors and some how it ended up even worse still.

One absolutely amazing app. Becomes very easy to use after very little practice. It is intuitive by itself. I would have rated it 5 stars, but there are little things that I would want to be added to the app, considering it has to be bought. Too often do I find myself unable to reach my PC to use the Stellarium software to see what part of the sky does my astrophotography setup see. And to add to that, definitely more nebulae and clusters should be visible in the sky. Otherwise, a great app!

Have used this app for many years. I love it - it is so useful for seeing what is currently in the sky and for seeing when, in the future, different planets or constellations will be visible. I agree with a previous comment that I would prefer the date and time to be smaller when you are skipping through time. Other than that though it is great and quite easy to use.

The app has a well-designed, functional and esthetic GUI, has enough information about objects, and is stable. What I would like to see in next releases would be improved handling of sensor positioning when pointing a device directly upwards; the map gets confused around the zenith and starts to rotate and flip - perhaps a workaround to overcome this pitfall of relying solely on polar coordinates and to stabilise the map is needed.

It seems there is a difference between the phone app version and the laptop version that I have. Illustrations of the starlore maps from different countries are missing. Such as, the Romania starlore illustrations are available on my laptop, but not on the phone, will these be added later? It would be nice to have illustrations of the starlore, from all the countries you have featured.

I like impressing my friends with it. If you want to know where the planet's and stars, (plus the satellite's) are, this app is great for that. I don't understand all the menu buttons. Very confusing trying to work the app. The menu isn't very good I don't care much to use it. I paid 2.99 for it so I just keep it on my phone.

For the approaching comet C/2019 y4 Atlas, this app is proving pretty close to useless. I don't really understand why I have so much trouble searching for things with this app compared to some free apps like Celestron Skyportal. I end up using other apps to find things and then switch back to this one because I still feel like this has the best interface, but I'm disappointed that it can't stand on its own. I don't know if the catalog updates ever, because I don't see options for that.

Love. Love. On my device (OP 6), the gyroscope is never correct for pointing the screen and identifying stars, but that's probably my device and not the app. However, Stellarium would get my fifth star if it were able to turn the button area black. Even in night mode, the background for the home & back buttons is white, defeating the purpose of night mode.

Very nice app, maybe the best of it's kind besides one flaw. Why when you view a full moon does it completely wash out the rest of the sky? This app shouldn't be taking realism to extremes such as that. I want to explore the sky but the second the moon comes into view it completely blankets everything. At least make this optional, unless I've missed it in the settings?

The app is not as fully featured as the desktop program is, it would be nice to add the ability to pull objects from the MPC database so you wouldn't have to wait for an update to have comets added. Otherwise, if you're used to finding objects in the sky from a sky map, this app does the job great.

great pocket sized planetarium app :) the only thing that steals half a star of the well deserved 5 is the planet textures. is there a way to have less over-exposed planet textures, so you can actually see the face of the planet and not a bright white blob? especially during night time, this feature is really usefull, as any speck of white can easily mess with our dark sight adaptation. thank you

I keep this app on every phone I have so I always have access to identify and appreciate the night sky. The variety of features are wondrous for enthusiasts! I'm slightly confused by the GPS accuracy but still extremely satisfied.

Beautiful app. Had an issue with the search bar but figured it out. Google Play won't let me edit my review (as it has done previously) so I'm writing another one to say the issue is resolved.

Not sure if this is the app I was looking for... I've used Stellarium on my PC before, and I could've sworn it had the ability to attach my Telescope and various eye pieces, and show me what my field of view would look like through my eyepiece. But after paying to download this app on my Android tablet, in hopes of getting the same functionality as what I get in my PC, so far, I'm unable to see where I can add my Telescope, eyepieces, camera, etc.. I think I've just wasted a few bucks! Sigh...

Sent an email about upgrading this app which your company turned it's back on. Instead you quietly released the plus version with no path to upgrade, just re-purchase. I asked if you would consider and no one got back to me now for almost 6 months. Apparently a reviewer for the new "Plus" stated it has fewer features. Poor customer service.

Needs to be more detailed and updated especially that I paid for this one and just downloaded a few one and that one was way more up to date and advanced, I could just speak into the mic and ask where the big dipper was and it would highlight the stars and have a arrow directing you what way to look, this app doesn't even recognize the name big dipper or highlight the stars of the big dipper. I like the app just think of you're gonna charge people it could be a little more advanced.
