Step - Mobile Banking for Teens

WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!! Originally downloaded this app and was very pleased, but later on I keep getting charges on my card that I am not making or attempting to make when it gets declined!!!!! I have already spoken to the numerous websites that appear on my charges, get the money back and get assured it won't happen again, but it keeps happening!!!!! I have already replaced my card several times and lock my card and report the charges, but it keeps happening. Don't use for ur safety!

Meh. Step's UX is clunky and buggy, the UI feels immature and childish (even though that is their entire brand, it just feels unprofessional). Withdrawing and depositing takes unnecessarily long, linking a card with Plaid is unnecessarily difficult and the push notifications are irritating and just like everything on the app, unnecessary. Step feels like a banking service built with sticks and stones, only held together with Elmer's Glue from an elementary school, where most of their demographic resides. Do better next time, please.

***UPDATE*** I was able to resolve the issue by disabling my ad blocker. I researched many other options and Step seemed like the best fit for our family. Unfortunately, I can't even get the app to send a sponsor invite to my son. So I had one son try to send me an invite with his Android device. Same result. Spinning circle with no invite sent. When my son with an iPhone sent his invite, it went through right away. A day later and the support team still hasn't resolved this most basic of issues

Okay, so, I've been using this app for a while, no problems. But I have one. We used to get $15 for a refurrel, but now it's just $1. I mean it's disappointing because us kids don't really get as much money. I honestly don't care, I kind've thought YouTubers were getting a little too much. Once I've seen a 15-16 year old girl have like $4,000 from just refurrels lol.

The app is great, and someone tried to help me! But I'm still kind of upset that I can't get the money because they can't confirm my friend and sister used the code, I watched them use it so there's no way they lied to me..step please fix it, apparently there's been other issues like this! People are using others referral codes but it shows they don't and neither party gets money.

So far it's a great app! Still looking forward to my mom actually agreeing to let me get my card, and after asking alot she said maybe. The one tiny problem I had that I don't really mind is that when ever I go to make a goal called "car" or something it would exit me out. But the app is overall good!

I absolutely love this app! But it's missing one more thing. I don't have service and I can't create an account. So if you can, change it into something else that would verify my phone number instead of including service. Please and thank you!!

I personally LOVE this!! My 13 year old Son has the card and it makes life so easy. I can add money to his card and have no worries because I can see where and how much he's spending. I wish with the Savings he couldn't take money out or use it but it's a great way to help my Son have independence and its Free!!

Had 1 year almost, my teens love it, yea love..! Each of us have our own account, we have our own cards, I can manage each thru the app, they manage their own thru the app, they can request or send money to any of our accounts, great savings. Supporting and allowing my kids to see it spend, it is real life prep, 13yo&14yo both love it, gives them control, all teens crave! For them, they are one more milestone towards independence, for me, I know when my financial help is needed. Cool Mom win!

Seems to be a bug when trying to add a child to sponsor. Never completes. Additionally, once you complete KYC, it throws an error even though it went through. Need to add my wife and can't get her on the same family piece yet. Please fix.

I love this app managed card, it's simplistic, customizable, and just really easy to use. Although, I suggest for the saving feature there's a option to turn on a automatic saving of whatever you set for each month, week, or day. Also, I wish there was interest earned on your saving part, honestly since you have a bigger teen appealed app I don't think we would care about the interest rate being high, just atleast a interest rate gain. Extremely sketch, do not get this and DO NOT MAKE AN ACCOUNT. I wanted to delete my account and in order to do that I have to just give my ssn? TF. Now my email and number is stuck being linked with no way to remove them. Terrible app and system. Do not get this app.

Great, but I have two problems. I want to connect this app to cashapp (i have parental permission,) and it requires either a debit card or a bank. Cannot do debit card, necause the cards this site provides are credit. Cannot do bank, because it won't give me my credentials. It only shows routing number. Other than that, better than I thought it'd be. Nice job.

So, my mistake with my last review. I learned that it was my fault, and they helped me fix it. I really like this app, it's very helpful. Especially cuz it has a save money function. Thank you!

I've enjoyed using step it's helped me learn how to start saving and to budget but I'd like to see the ability to invest in cryptocurrency as a teen who can't get a job at the moment I need to learn of a way to invest so I can learn to help my self I want to go to a specific college and right now I have no money to do that for the future if like to learn how to invest

Loved it so far. Signed up pretty recently & still waiting on my card to arrive currently. Just a small bug that isn't really isn't big, but on my screen, the other text is cut off and just says "ot...".

Been on the app for 2 years now and it's amazing step doesn't charge extra fees for anything and gives lots of bonuses. I'm really excited for this app and the next step (pun intended) Crypto Currency does it get any better??!

I've used Step since August and I only have two complaints: I can't find my referral code to give to my friends when the link doesn't work, and the saving goals don't have deadlines. I also think there should be a way to have sponsors lock a savings goal from being withdrawn from because as someone with ADHD it's often difficult to save when I can easily and impulsively transfer money out of savings to spend, but otherwise it's great and has helped me improve my money-management skills

Best hassle & fee free credit card because not only does it carry zero maintenance fees but it also gives you the ability to help your teen build credit which no other card provides at this time. I've recommended it to ALL my friends with age appropriate children. Cards arrived quickly, app is easy to use. The only way I see to improve this card is with a Cashback feature when used at certain retailers. Even without a way to earn extra rewards it's still a great card and a positive asset.

I've been trying to sign in to my account for the longest time but im only allowed to try and sign in with an apple ID that I don't have anymore and it won't let me contact support the app keeps closing out the help screen. I'm also unable to create a new account with my phone number. This has been frustrating because this is the only app my parents bank will allow them to use to sent me money.

This app is worthless. My boys are set up with their mother. I have downloaded your app. I am texted a verification code. Then I'm told I need to enter another code which is to be emailed. I have tried this a dozen times now. The email arrives 5-6 hours later and has expired by the time I get it. There is zero customer support. No number to call. I'd give zero stars if I could.

The system works well but there is no form of immediate notification to the sender of funds via text or email that a transfer has been initiated nor an immediate pending notice on the account. Excep for tiny print on top that the transaction took place, I was not sure. It was complicated by the screen filled with an option to send grandson an allowance and on the Android phone, the keyboard blocked the option to ignore the suggestion. Tried it 4 times. Grandson ultimately received 4 transactions

Taking too long. The concept is great but I signed up early on and the app still has not launched. It's very disappointing. UPDATE: Now that this bank is finally up and running, I've been using it for a while now and can honestly say this bank is easy to use and actually fun! The user interface is really cool! The only downside is that I can't link to Zelle and the savings account doesn't earn interest. Otherwise it's a great app! Also, their customer support is quick and helpful. Love it!

I gave it rights to use my camera, but still said it doesn't have the rights... completely confusing. But other then that it's amazing appreciation for more then just teens.

I'm pretty impressed with the step banking app I'm 35 years old and I'm using it. Especially they can connect it to your external account and withdraw the money straight to step Bank 👏🏽

The app is great. It looks great, and the ui is arranged very well. I just wish there was a way to link it to samsung pay and if there is I will update my review.

I find it really amazing, well before cashapp decided to let teenagers join. It's literally JUST like cashapp, and they are telling the truth NO HIDDEN FEES. And you can go into overdraft, still there will be no fees. Great App thank you guys so muchhhhh.😊😊

If I could give this ap 10 stars I would, I had an issue with my info being stolen and they handled it amazingly. The staff is very sweet and do the best they can which is above and beyond!

It's a good app but when I went to connect my bank with the app my bank was not on the list which is sad because I was hoping that it would be so my son could have his own card and money

Overall I wasn't really having any problems until I got door dash for a friend in another state, and then my account got frozen. I contacted customer service multiple times after they had said they'd contacted my sponsor, which they hadn't because we never received an email even though on their end they claimed they had. It's been about 2-3 months now with no sign of the issue being resolved :/
