Stitcher Radio for Podcasts

Usually I'd just use Spotify since it's a one stop shop for podcasts and music, but lately it's been so f'ing slow and I have to wait way too long for things to load, and it's become so frustrating that I decided to download Stitcher again go get around this issue. I have to say that the UI has improved quite a bit, and I've always enjoyed this app even before the recent updates anyway. It's fast, the selection is great, the app is very user friendly, and the sound quality is excellent. 5 ★'s

Playback always stops in the middle of an episode and I have to hit play again, and you can't mark the episodes as played or unplayed easily. It always scrolls back to the top. It looks cheap, it doesn't work well, and I think I'm gonna find my podcasts somewhere else, because this is lousy. Looks like they're trying to fix it. Let's hope.

It's soooo sloooooow to update when new content is available, and the UI for navigating through your shows is so slow, you wonder if you even pressed the button. This is worse ever since the update. If you are near the end of a downloaded podcast it locks up and you have to do all kinds of weird stuff to get it to finish

UPdate, more like DOWNdate! I loved this app but in the past few months it stopped working properly, interrupting the podcast every 10 minutes or so. I can restart it by tapping on my phone but it's annoying. I'll miss it cause it was so nice to have all my fav in one place, even filed in folders by topic. Immense variety of listening experiences awaits you!

Used to be great, now every 14 minutes podcasts will cut to silence and produce an error. CONSISTENTLY. This is apparently a universal error the was "fixed" in the last patch but nope, not so. I don't even care that the UI is utter garbage, it literally no longer functions as a media player. Unsubscribing and looking for a better app, this is unforgivable.

The only podcast app I use and recommend, but the app playback issues mid podcast continuing to be an issue for so long is incredibly frustrating. It appears that playback continues when this happens, you just cannot hear sound. I've tried their battery setting solution to no avail. I'm on Samsung S20 FE. Fully closing app and reopening leads to an error message allowing me to retry, but retrying rarely works, and I just have to fully close the app and restart multiple times.

There's still no way to add a newly downloaded podcast to the end of my currently playing list. There's only a "play next" button. So I have to clear my whole queue, then go through and hit "play next" on every podcast in reverse order. Then I get an email saying "We're listening... we've added dark mode!" Gee, thanks.

Something fishy about your overall rating. It was in the lower 2* range after making that drastic (very bad) change from the "old" layout 1-2 years ago. It was mostly 1* reviews. Now somehow you're above 4* again? I don't believe people suddenly love your app again. I will bump my 1 up to 2 though. However, I have a request for a new feature that would make me bump it up to 3. Where you display the total # of episodes in a podcast series, how about adding the # of **unread** episodes left?

I was notified that they added dark mode to this app, and boy, this feature is a godsend. It's made navigating the app much easier on my eye. True, there's still a ways to go for people navigating exclusively with text to speech. I.e, in the show section, clicking the icon of the show results in the text to speech app simply saying "unlabeled" instead of telling you which show it is. For now, though, this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Works only okay as a podcast app, player skips and restarts occasionally (reading other reviews it seems like other people experience this more often). Cancelled my subscription several months ago and recently found that because the cancellation page is incompetently coded, I had continued to be charged the whole time. You'll need to contact support if you don't want them to keep taking your money.

Episodes freeze midplay. Even when they have been previously "downloaded". Downloaded Episodes sometimes don't play at all when offline. Whit is total BS and infuriating. Doesn't always work to phase and un-pause when using Bluetooth. And a lot of my favorite premium shows are no longer premium/ad free. Google podcast player just works better. Too bad there aren't ad free versions of podcasts on there or u would walk away from Stitcher premium for good

This app consistently interrupts playback when the screen shuts off. It's maddening. I've gone through all the BS the developer claims I need to do regarding battery permissions and disabling battery saver, and the problem persists. They act like this is a problem caused by Android OS and its battery settings, but NO OTHER APP HAS THESE ISSUES. Deezer, Pandora, Pocket Casts, Prime Music, Spotify, Tidal, and YouTube Music all work FLAWLESSLY. And I PAY for this. Fix your garbage app.

It's become one of the worst podcast apps I've used. It use to work fine but now it gets stuck loading a podcast episode if I so much as press pause. Then I have to force stop and open the app again to fix it. This issue happened on both android 11 and android 12.

I dropped Stitcher years ago because it was so bloated and unusable. Now it's light and I've had no issues at all! Plus I really like being able to switch to a Web player at work.

This has been my favorite podcasts app forever -- simple, easy to use and navigate, doesn't lose your place (*cough, cough, Spotify*) or deluge you with ads. What more could you want?

I still use it because I have all my Playlists on it however it keeps crashing and making me restart my shows, sometimes my history of watched shows disappears but that's not a huge deal. Like everyone else who has been reviewing it has gone way downhill. Roll back to like 6 months ago when it was working like a charm devs

Finally had to give up on this app. It's been buggy for years and each successive update introduces new bugs without rectifying old ones. Just a waste of money and a frustrating experience.

Stitcher is the only podcast player that charges for premium content, so you'd imagine that it would have the most accessible UI but frequently free podcast apps out preform the shoddy and frankly broken Stitcher interface. Go download podcast addict instead. A year ago I made this review and I am pleased to say that not a damn thing has changed. Stitcher still has all of the problems with the app crashing.

Terrible app, no settings or playlists options. Very limited widget functionally. I'm only using for exclusive content but this app is terrible compared to other more enhanced podcast apps like Podcast addicts.
