I have suffered from tinnitus for over a year. I used this app using a tablet for a while, if you let it run at night you'll "stop" hearing it after a bit and the sounds around you seem to get LOUDER. In concept the app cancels out the noise by matching it's frequency, retraining your brain to ignore it. Yes, it takes a while. TIP: Adjust it until it sounds the same in both ears, adjust shift until ears "pop" at the same time as the sound. Give it a week or until you can't hear it, then readjust. It works!

Im 29 years old and just recently started suffering from ringing after a bad perforated eardrum a few months ago. Only time will tell if this works. So far this is temporary relief as i am able to actually hear the tone that my mind thinks it hears. I only wish is that thia app would have the option to disable one of the earphones (right or left). This helps out so others don't hear the other earphone that im not using.

I'm an ex comms engineer and can see why some people can't grasp what this app does. By patiently adjusting the tone until it matches your own ringing which might take sometime then using the phase shifting control that produces a 180 degree + or - shift in the signal generator that generates a trough when your tinnitus tone is at its peak should cancel the sound out . Patience in finding the exact tone will ensure that phase shift works

This app was a little tricky to get going, but didn't take long before the controls were available to start tuning and then fine tuning was even cooler. The only issue that I found was that when my saved tins played back and any tones saved for that matter, there was a clicking sound playing in background - it sounded like a metronome keeping step. Great app though,it even runs in the background while switching between browsing.

It took a while to find the frequency that matches my ringing. Days in fact, in part because the frequency finder is a little tricky to hang the of, but also, identifying it was something new to me (learning curve). Once found however, it masks the ringing by mimicking it. The phase shifter, which is a great feature, perfected the match. Now when I turn it on, I still here that same ringing sound, but not in my ears. It comes from the device, be it through headphones or plugged in speakers. That might not read like it's a good thing, but it is actually. It masks the tinnitus by taking the ringing out of my head, and externalizes it. If I have to hear that sound (since there's no cure), it is far better this way.

I have tinnitus since I was 10 or 12, and have always have trouble falling asleep. And lately my tinnitus got worse, and I can't sleep at all. But this app really helped me. Although it doesn't completely cancel out the noise, but it still good.

Actually seems to help for a few minutes until the ringing comes back but its a start.

This app can provide such enormous waves of relief when tweaked carefully. I use it on my worst days and it is often the only thing which helps at all. Would love to be able to alter the frequency without running through the tutorial each time.

I have had tinnitus for several months now. At first it was very bearable. But recently it became worse with my exposure to loud noise. This app doesnt cure tinnitus but it helps me cope. It helps me focus less on my tinnitus.

I was able to identify the frequency that matches my tinnitus. That's nice to know but the play button is greyed out on my samsung galaxy tab 3. I discovered my left earand right ear seem to be hearing differently but there are no further adjustments to fine for that. There are no instructions, so that's as far as I got after 18 attempts to get the frequency.

One of the best free Apps of this type. However, crackles are generated, which detract from the pure tone and are annoying after a while.

Would it hurt for the developer to add some information about the app? It would appear the app does not work properly for a lot of people, myself included. I can match my tone with the software and save it but I can't get the play button on the home screen to appear so I don't have the playback options.. An explanation to how this app really works and the science behind it would help...but we get nothing....why?

I can hear the exact note that my ear rings at, can even whistle it, but now matter how much I try, I can't match the frequency with this app. The problem is that it doesn't generate the same kind of tone that I hear. Still gave it 4 stars because maybe it can help someone else.

I am normal person. I have tested this app as android app test engineer. While testing i had problem as a noise. Can't resist this voice as a normal person. But really helpful for people having tinnitus.

It's not possible to cancel a sound that does not exist. Tinnitus is a phantom sound by definition. Still has some use as a portable tone generator for frequency identification.

Doesn't work for my very high pitched tinnitus. Sound crackles once in a while too.

Really like it, but as far as I can tell, it only increases in frequency. Would help if you could also count down when your very close to that tinnitus frequency.

Seemed to help, believe it or not. Needs left and right channel separation.

I can't find the frequency of my tinnitus using this, its clumsy and difficult with the frequency scan function why not have a manual frequency control that the user can adjust/fine adjust up and down to find the correct frequency? And also it makes harsh clicking noises once I get up around 10000hz.

Very helpful app for TINNITUS Patients. I am using it for last 1 week. I use 9100 Hz tone to cure ear ringing. Dont hear any ringing in the ear whenever i use this app.

Wonderful app, takes some time to calibrate your frequency, and worth every bit of the effort.

About the ONLY app that addresses the problem: Finding the tinnitus frequency in your head and phase it to silence. WELL DONE. (a balance button would be a bonus)

This app seems to offer hope but for me it doesn't deliver. The controls freeze and the interface is clunky. I can find my frequency but cannot cancel or relieve the symptom. Nice idea but disappointing.

Just got this instantaneous lift of pressure on my ear drums and the sound has eased up. Don't think iv landed the perfect frequency but it feels better. THANKU!!! Would love to hear more about the science of this :-)
