Strange Case: The Alchemist

A lot of fun and the puzzles are quite challenging, but not so hard that you want to quit. You'll definitely have some "Aha!" moments! Also, the developer is quite generous with the free option, only one ad per chapter. And the ads themselves are fairly short compared to other games, and only require a simple click to close - none of those irritating three different windows to close like other ads. I'm only subtracting one star bc there's no zoom in feature and some details are too small for me

It's fun and has great atmosphere but some of the puzzles are just a tad bit too confusing or difficult. Like I had no idea what a Nonogram was until I played this game and I only found out after looking at a comment on the walkthrough. If you ever decide to make a sequel, please test on some casual players first, and adjust the difficulty according to their recommendations. If players find a game to be too difficult to play without help than they will quit. Otherwise a very interesting game

Graphics are nice and the story is ok, but the puzzle games are way too Myst-like. Some are challenging yet intuitive, but some are so finicky they end up being frustrating. Some also glitch, so I burned a lot of time banging my head against the wall trying to figure them out when it just wasn't possible. I had to resort to playthroughs several times just to progress, and where's the fun in that? Lastly, and for me the worst bit, is that you cannot restart a chapter, just the whole game!?

***SPOILER ALERT*** Good game. May have found a bug: chapter 2 there's no key in the white coat. I've played through to the start of chapter 2 twice. Both times same problem. The coat moves the first time I select it but no key is transferred to my inventory. Might be doing something stupid myself, so still rating as 5-stars :) Other than this problem(?) it's a great puzzle game and the ads are non-intrusive.

The game has lots of potential but the lack of feedback when trying to interact with the environment or use inventory in relation to other things stalls progress. Some puzzles are also nonsensical, as it doesn't give you much context in what the game expects you to do to complete them. The methods also depend too much on assuming the player is familiar with other kinds of puzzle game formats to solve. I found myself forgetting what to do because I was too busy trying to figure out how to play.

Loved the atmosphere and art style. My only complaint is that some of the puzzles could have used better guidance. As far as i know there was no clues to tell me that i needed to use the red glass on the keypad. I do appreciate that these games straight up have a walkthrough in the options menu but it feels cheap to be forced to check

I got this game because it reminded me of cube escape and I was shocked to see this wasn't another game in the rusty lake series! While I enjoyed the puzzles some parts felt unfufilling. There were locked doors that never seemed to open and the ending wasn't satisfying. The concept is amazing but the final could've been better. Overall I enjoyed it.

I like it so far but I was stuck endlessly on chapter 2, finally caved in and watched a walkthrough. The game apparently glitched on my phone and when I shook the white lab coat it didn't add the key to my inventory. Plus the statuette was missing from the shelf. I cant open locked cupboard without the key to obtain the screwdriver to advance and am stuck. This has to be a bug in the software unless I am missing something all of the walkthroughs fail to mention and/or I'm too dumb to find.

Game is buggy/Cant finish puzzles. Stuck forever on the rune part. Finally caved and watched the walkthrough. I know exactly where the third one is, I have the knife to get it. Yet it doesn't work. Tried closing the app/reopening it. Rewatched the walkthrough just to be SURE I was doing the right steps and still can't get the third rune.

I am really enjoying it so far! It has a similar feel to the Rusty Lake games. Very few ads! The creator asks if you'd like to support them, or just watch an ad. This makes the ads way less annoying, and the creator still gets a bit of ad revenue. The one negative is that sometimes, it's hard to tell what you're supposed to do next or wher you need to use an item. Thankfully, the creator included a link to their walkthrough!

Really fun point and click puzzle game. It's pretty challenging which is great and I even had to look up a few things on the walkthrough. Has a cool asthetic too. Only complaint is that some of the puzzle are trial and error and I wish there was a little more direction with them. Like the maggot puzzle was kinda confusing. Overall really fun.

Great game. I was shocked and scared for a bit when the ghost appear at first level. The storyline needs a bit of improvement, maybe make it more thorough. Since story is somehow connect every level, but it doesn't really give you an understanding after for the next level.

If you like Rusty Lake games, you'll love this. It's a similar vibe with the creepy puzzles and story, but with some extra features that really make it fun! The puzzles aren't easy, but they're not frustratingly difficult either. I really really love this game and wish there were more :)

This game is so fun! Puzzles are challenging, but if you get stuck, they have an official walkthrough to help you out, unlike most puzzle games that make you watch an ad to get a hint. Speaking of ads, they don't randomly pop up in this game! It's such an immersive experience. :)

This game is very good. Love the creepy music. The puzzles are medium difficulty; gives a challenge but not too hard where I'm looking at the walk through. As others have stated I definitely get 'Rusty Lake' vibes from this game. Still enjoyable. Like the option to watch an Ad or pay something as not everyone has money(i.e. kids) but allows everyone to play. Thank you

Okish. Sometimes clicking doesn't register, had to click dozen of times (out of desperation) on a drawer....Musical notes in puzzle? Now I have to search online and learn what does those mean, then play it in skulls, without any kind of musical background. I just stopped there ... Idea is great, looks ok, plays...meh

Somewhat short, but mostly good game. Very similar to Rusty Lake in feel, but not quite as intuitive puzzles. That's really the biggest issue- there are definitely some "thank goodness there's a walkthrough because I'd never have figured that out" moments. But overall quite enjoyable.

Pretty good escape the room type game. Some easy puzzles, some harder ones, and only 2 that I thought were unfair (caterpillars - did it through trial and error; had to look up how to find a key on the final level). Walkthrough is available if you get stuck!

It's a very good game becides the popups where you have to pay him or have an ad. And when and if you choose to go with the walkthrough you have to watch an ad. Other than that it's a really great fun game.

Great game! The puzzles are challenging but not so much that they have really obscure or ridiculous solutions. There's a good story here aswell. Unique, can't wait to see the end :)

Its a cool game! Some puzzles need some work especially in the beginning, nothing goes where you think it goes you have to watch the walkthrough in order to understand where to exactly click, i suggest making the hitbox on the utem placement bigger in order to make gameplay at least a bit more smooth.Sure the demon idea and things all seem like generic things and so is the story but idt the story should be different, especiall for a first game. Also someone thought ur rusty lake lmao

This game is pretty awesome. I really like the graphics and puzzles. They aren't to tricky but also not to easy whenever i can't find an answer and look it up it all makes sense and I'm like duh. So all in all great job can't wait to see what else this developer comes out with!

Very good, few ads but no need to pay to figure something out or get hints. Also, no hints. Makes you curious first, but then you quickly realize you can figure it out even without. Ended up paying anyway just to help the developer make more, longer games!

Great game! Not too easy not to difficult, just right! Reminds of me uf Rusty lake a lot. I'd like to say that ads don't work always which is shame considering how good this game is, I got only 1 and would've liked to support this game in some way since I can't pay (optional). Over all I only have 1 small complain and that is graphic quality at the last stage. I believe demon could've been ilustrated better to match whole game experience. No complains apart from that.

Bro, this game is awesome! The story is good and the puzzles are a bit difficult and reasonable. Nothing too abstract to conclude, unless three or four puzzles.

Good game..pretty interesting..but needs a bit of adjustment...should have a tip button for each step instead of a whole video of walk through...i have to open the whole video for the step that i want and it sometimes spoil other parts for me

5 star, obviously. I had some annoying-me "pixelhunting" moments like chains or key (I dunno how describe this without spoilers), but game is awesome. I like games with rusty-lake-like visual and puzzles.

It's a really good game with lots of potential. However there are some bugs I've run into that prohibit progress, if they got fixed it would be an amazing game.
