Was able to connect but now it will not connect again. It has my thermion 2 xq38 on my list and says it has an update but haven't been able to connect again. Some reviews I have read have stated to delete app and re-download and it helped them. I tried but the times I have been able to reconnect... it only stays connected for about 5 secs. Really excited to get my first thermal. Paying so much and now not getting to use all the features is a let down. Hoping they get it fixed soon.
Great hardware, but the "app" please do something about this horrid piece of software (Android) it's totally useless as it stands today. Customer support has been contacted, and "jadda jadda" nothing Running latest app and firmware versions on both devices, still the same issues. Connects and discconects with in seconds on my Digex N455. Luckly for me I love the scope and it fits my 9,3x62 perfectly so I will keep it, had it not been for that I've change brand in a heart beat.
I'm on a Note 10 samsung. You must disable your home wifi if you want to connect to this. Your device dont have internet and your phone wifi will keep kicking you off to find wifi that does. Everything in this app works flawless once you do that. Transfers videos perfect and the viewfinder is very nice. Not sure why so many people are having issues unless it's one of them things where only the people with issues are responding here.
Works for a little bit and the screen goes blank. I am using a note 10 plus and would be a great app if the bugs would be fixed. When the screen goes blank I have to power down my scope and turn it back on to see viewfinder. It connects just no picture. FIS this and I will review your app again.
Just rubbish. I've had my Trail for over 3 years and NEVER been able to download any update! With my Pard I download updates to my PC, laptop etc and update via a USB cable - no constant "connection issues" then. Tried all the suggestions about forgetting networks, turning off all other wifi devices etc etc - nothing works. Good bit of kit ruined by garbage software.
Edit: owned the scope for close to a year, still the worst app. Doesn't convert videos now since the update so use a screen recorder instead. Scope is great, app is terrible. Needs a foward and rewind feature. Also can't share videos after downloading which seems to take forever. Nice app , lets work out the bugs now. 4 grand for a scope and the App is terrible. Expected a bit more.
Virtually impossible to connect device. After two hours of fiddling between the app and my Pulsar Digex I got it to connect and download firmware. Then it auto disconnected and gave me more hassle reconnecting. I finally got it to connect again and began the update on my firmware and it disconnected and gave me a Failed Update notification. My Pulsar must have gotten enough for the update because it went through the restart sequence and is working. A very worrisome few moments.
The app is extremely unintuitive, there is virtually not startup guide and no tooltips that guide first time users. The biggest problem during usage is the loss of connection and reconnecting. This happens every 5 seconds If you try to connect to your device during one of its drops you need to reconnect the wifi to your scopes /goggles devices wifi and then go back to the app and reconnect
Thanks for your speedy response, there are no other wifi networks while I'm hunting. I've upgraded to 5stars because I think the wifi lag is the device ittself and not the app. However I would appreciate help in solving this issue.
2019 Review: Purchased the Pulsar Heilon XP50 - terrible app for WI-FI or the Pulsar's WI-FI..Either or, it simply doesn't work - connection too slow for using on the roof! 2020: one year update review. WiFi still does not stay connected, even after downloading all updates. 3rd unit later, trying to find that works and stays connected.
It connects to the sight but only says connecting for a few seconds when activating Viewfinder then disconnect. Keep losing connection (phone still show connected). Terrible transfer speed if you're trying to save a video to the phone a 2min vid you better put the charger in bothdevices and checkthe progressin 24h. Otherwise it's a great idea and works ok..
Hi, After the latest firmware update to my XM30s the app doesn't recognise the device is connected even though it is showing connected in WiFi on my phones, tried it on both Android and iOS phones both with the same result. I have reset my device to factory settings and uninstalled and reinstalled the app on both droid and iOS and still will not work. HELP !! Was Great until the update Update 01/10/20 = fixed with the 4.6 firmware update 👍
This app is garbage...Trail network appears...disappears.. Never holds a steady connection. I expected a better quality app for the great quality of optic. Quite a shame honestly. Pay 4k for optic but can't connect to update software. Decides to connect on a good day for 10 seconds. Very frustrating... Not worth my time
After upgrading my Pulsar N455LRF to FW Version 2.2.003 the App will only connect once for a few seconds. It then disconnects and says it cannot connect to the device. Both the phone and the scope show as connected but the App says you need to connect and when you try it says it cannot connect. And thanks I have already opened a ticket with support...
The app is worthless I have tried everything my android will connect to the scope but always says there's never a connection I uninstalled the app reinstalled it several times tried airplane mode told that is a trick to try app never seems to work the scope is great but the app is worthless. I have been emailing the company I've tried everything they say never get anywhere. Let me guess email the company to get it resolved well I have done that and gotten nowhere.
Hopeless on OnePlus 6T. You can connect the phone WiFi to XP50, but the app disconnects it again. If you try to connect through the app it just goes into a connect/disconnect loop. This makes half the features of a £3000 device useless. Very poor indeed.
A £1500 spotting scope and it comes with an app that even if it connects it loses its connection within 60seconds and is completely unusable. How can pulsar make such a good product and then back it up with trash like this app. Sort an update out sharpish will you and then leave it alone while it's working. please leave instructions on how we all connect our devices so they actually work!
Ridiculous! The app does not work AT ALL on any Android 10 devices! It won't connect on my Oneplus or my Samsung both on Android 10... I have to use an older phone! This was a very expensive product so I'm sure we'd all appreciate it if you please fix these pressing issues as soon as possible.
Since downloading latest version of the app and the new firmware update for my Pulsar Forward FN455 I can't download any file from the device to my phone. Every time I press the download button in the app "connection is lost" error appears and the device disconnects itself from the app. It's frustrating because it's the only thing I used the app for in the first place.
Same issue as the vast majority of other users. With the recent updates my device, XP38, no longer connects due to the unstable wifi connection - my device is found for a few seconds then disappears. Please, Yukon, fix this, it's not a user error.
Updated from 1* to 3* as although indoors the app is unusable due to connection issues...outdoors, although not perfect, it is about usable. Hopefully this will be resolved with an update, although I don't know if the issue is on the app or device side...
It works well on both of my XP 50 LRF and NV455. What makes it more wonderful is the continuous upgrade of this this app (and the device software) -- I do appreciate the upgrade that have made downloading process much more stable and addition of the video file conversion to mp4.
After struggling with this app and connection since 2019 between axion xm38 and various phones I switched to a Samsung tab A8 for a bigger display. Now the app works much better. Still has the occasional brain fart but much less frustrating.
Pulsar XQ50 Videos take forever to download. Cant see which video it is before downloading. Once downloaded, video player only allows start and stop, no forward or backward and doesn't even show length of video. Is there any way to download videos straight to a computer via USB? That would be so much better.
This app is extremely frustrating to use. I have the xp50 and it will not connect to the scope.. the scope wifi is on, the phone wifi is on and dedicated to only the scope and phone. No internet at all. The scope says its connected to the phone. This app says it is not connected.. so it asks for a password when you connect in the app menu.. when you connect it says you must connect manually,, so I do and it shows connection....BUT IT WILL NOT CONNECT!
This is so frustrating. I've only given it 2 stars for when it will stay connected long enough to use any of the features it's pretty good. The constant disconnect's from WiFi is so annoying. Every few seconds. You'll spend 20 minutes trying to get it hold a connection to download a 30 second clip to your phone if you can keep it connected long enough to download it. The download speed is bad. So slow, but a small improvement since update. But still slow. It could be really good..
