Streams in the Desert (Lite)

In book form this is an excellent set of daily devotionals. However, in the app you can only advance through the text by tapping one page at a time and I find no way to go backwards without advancing to the end then starting over at the beginning. I'm very pleased with the content but the interface is not user friendly.

I've had this app on my kindle for many years. I just added it to my chromebook. I love the new extended devotion with morning and evening prayer, and the beautiful scenery. Streams in the Desert is a classic and ever meaningful daily word from God. I read it along with a few other devotions and Bible readings every morning as part of my daily time with the Lord.

I have the book devotion, I like the morning and evening prayers that come with it. This app allows me to easily share it with others. If I miss the book reading at home I can read the devotion from my phone.

Awesome Biblical truths, guided prayers, and devos that enlighten God's Word. The only thing it is missing is a daily Bible reading plan. Yes, the app has scripture verses, but it would be awesome if it had a customizable daily Bible reading plan.

I was reading through the daily devotional of Streams in the Desert in booklet edition for some years and always feel encouraged whenever I'm down in depression. It's overwhelming & it changed my life. I was searching for a book to gift for my son in all known online stores, but I couldn't get one or found it to be little high in price compared to when i bought it. By the grace of God, i found your app & happy that it helps us in our spiritual growth. I have recommended to friends too.

Nice app, I grew up with the book so it was nice to see it on the phone with a daily read to brighten the day with His word.

Thank you for such an edifying and wonderful app! The layout, photography, and adjustable font settings are awesome and make for easy reading. The only suggestion I would PLEASE ask for, is to allow the daily morning and evening prayers, along with the daily verse, to be available to be viewed from the calendar. Unfortunately these are deleted at the end of each day, and only the daily devotional can be accessed from the calendar. This improvement would make this app EVEN BETTER! God bless you!

Love it!! After using this app for awhile I find it an excellent addition to my devotional time. I'm a book person but this is always with me to be able to look back at the day's encouragement. It's a huge blessing. THANK YOU! I'm adding a footnote... The audio settings are really great. To be able to choose the voice and the speed with which the reading is done is absolutely brilliant!

Love the devotions, but not the old English style :( Also I paid for this App and get all these advertisements that are sometimes desturbing to watch!!

I find this to be a great app for devotional reading. It also has an option to read it to you. If you are going through a hard time this is very useful and fulfilling. Compared to the actual physical book it is word for word. I love having this on my phone due to the fact that when your on the go it's one less thing to travel with or pack for trips.

Easy to navigate through. Great devotional. Awesome inspirational commentary. Wonderful tool to have for those who want spiritual growth.

Not a fan of the new update. Before you were able to have one page to read your devotional. Now you have to click through this timed screen or Story Mode (similar to Instagram) that has it broken down between pages which makes no sense. I read it at night also and before I could have a night mode option, now this new mode has whatever default color it likes which is too bright even dimmed fully. I use this app a lot less now unfortunately. I'll just stick to my Bible App.

I have used this app for many years n I never had a problem but last year I bought a new phone n audio reading is at a high speed n I am unable to reduce it at the settings unlike before. I have tried changing the settings under the speech settings but it's asking me for payment I don't know why this has never happened. And I'm being asked to pay in a currency that I'm no longer in that country what's going on? This time it's now reading on a slow motion,So annoying 🙄

Apart from the Amercan robot voice which reads out loud extremely fast and without expression, the app is great! It's easy to use and gives a beautiful prayer for morning and evening as well as the collections of the author which are so helpful.

Love that the app gently reminds me to check the day's reading. An e-form of the classic -- yes, I have the hard copy, too -- the content is as solid and thought-provoking as always, and the photo illustrations reaffirm the peace and stillness our souls can find. I rarely write reviews, but this app helps keep my all-too-easily distracted and straying heart grounded and ever present with God.

I'm really enjoying my Streams In The Desert daily devotionals. I like the fact that you get both morning and evening devotionals and a prayer for the day. I have been using it several weeks now. I do have to put with occasional ads but I am willing to do that as long as it does not get out of hand. Thank you so much to the Developers for a nice free Bible based faith building app!

I've been reading streams in the desert for over decades. A daily habit my late father started me on. And I'm for ever grateful.

I have the old edition (in hardback), which my friend and I use for our devotionals. In my opinion, the new writing style of this version just doesn't speak to us as clearly as the older version. The language is more "flowery" now, but is no longer in the every-day speaking style, which we both feel has more impact.

The ads are annoying! Reading quietly along, and then suddenly an ad starts speaking. Totally breaks my concentration, and I forget what I was just trying to absorb. Uninstalling this one. I read in bed in the morning before I get up and enjoy a time of quiet devotion. Can't stand the ad blaring at me.

I cant get the print to the size I once had nor does the speed and pitch of the voice work properly. I am disappointed in the updated version. If I have to pay for what I enjoyed for years for free and been blessed by it..I guess I will have to delete it..although I am just 1 person and you will probably not miss me.

I have been studying Streams in book form for over 12 years. My book was falling apart from carrying it everywhere. Having the app and daily reminders is like taking a dear friend along with me everywhere I go. Streams has been an answer to prayer. I wanted a deeper walk with The Lord and to have clarity about Scripture. Prayer answered ! Glory to God !

Good devotional for spiritual growth and for building endurance. The daily prayers are very helpful and carefully worded, would be nice if they tallied with the daily theme. The ads that pop up can be loud and annoying.

I have the book and love it! This app makes it possible to read the daily devotions and share them anytime. You can make notes on each devotion, which is nice. Since the update the KJV doesn't give the complete verse. I use my Bible with the app but liked the complete verse when on the go. Still a blessing. Thanks!

I've enjoyed this free app. I am always encouraged by the compilation of writings. Knowing the story behind how the book came to be helps to know how each writing is tried and true. Thank you to the developers. The ads displayed each time I open the app have never been raunchy or bothersome.

I like the daily reminder. It helps build a good habit. The daily scripture is the most important component and it is good that it is topmost. The only inconvenience is the audio of the ads.
