Need to be able to unlock the app with biosecurity. UI of the app is not the greatest for Samsung s20.
Wow! Back to the drawing board guys. even for a mobile app, this is at best a shadow of StreetSmart edge. Very difficult to find your way around it. Completely unintuitive. Does unexpected things seemingly at random. frankly, with all the flaws, I don't trust it enough to make trades. The developers need to take some lessons from the Finance.Yahoo pages (not so much the Yahoo app tho).
I use this to manage and monitor my futures and options positions. The app is rudimentary and simple, but I like it for that reason. Maybe strip it down more to make it a cleaner and reliable compliment to the desktop version, rather than a replacement or stand alone trading app. I couple it with my computer to execute trades while I watch the chart on my computer and monitor price changes on my phone, and as a backup in case the internet and/or the power goes out, which has happened.
This funky little "street app" saved many a trading day when WiFi broadband went down or I was away from home. Until I got the latest Android phone and could finally use Schwab's regular app again, my older devices worked with this app economically and efficiently. Streaming is dependable and consistently running using hardly any data because the app is so low-resource and not filled with bells and whistles. Charts also up to the minute. Appreciated!
I use StreetSmart on my desktop computer but this app says it is not meant for me. Why? I prefer the information available in the desktop application and feel this app excluding me is wrong. Unless, of course, I completely misunderstood the purpose of the mobile app vs. the desktop app.
It's 100% junk. The newest most advanced phones will not even work on this buggy new update they did. It seems like every time they try and fix something and make it worse than it was before. Thought the worst company you have to ever try and gets support from on their technical end as they simply blame everything else he'll never work with you to solve the problems
Not a pleasurable experience. This app needs a more intuitive layout, paper trading, and biometric login option. Think or swim use to be the standard but now Power etrade mobile platform should serve as a template.
Great app, needs a few things to get 5-stars: 1.) Biometric (fingerprint) login. 2.) User-controllable time-out settings. 3.) Ability to add/remove/edit individual positions within a given options strategy. Currently you need to exit the entire position and re-submit the entire order just to edit one leg. 4.) Ability to re-submit recently expired orders. This is available on the Schwab app, but not SSM.
Thought I'd give it the benefit of a doubt, from all the negative reviews. I have the Edge on my main home computer and laptop. I just have to log in. The other Schwab app works great but wanted to see if this one would give me conditional order options. Tried to log in but it wants me to call a number. I feel that I shouldn't have to jump through more hoops to help make Schwab money with commissions.
No fingerprint login like iOS, doesnt group option strategies accurately, and worst of all, can't even change an order, you can only cancel and re enter the whole thing. Almost unusable for active traders this is supposed to serve.
This app needs a lot of work. Comparing to td Ameritrade tos, this app is pitiful. The app needs to have better graphs and user interface. Furthermore I work on my tablet a lot and the application has no tablet mode. It is sad that I have to open the TD Ameritrade app to look at the data and then go back to my street smart app to make my order. In fact the Charles Schwab regular app is far better than this. The only thing that this is better at than Charles Schwab application is real time update
1. Biometric login is basic tech nowadays. Please get with the program. 2. This app has so much potential but only accessible to specific accounts. What's the rationale behind that? Don't run customers away by requiring margin or a specific amount of money. Clients can get the desktop version without all the red tape, why not empower them from their mobile device. Great company, amazing customer service, but by him almighty...please upgrade your tech!
I had account with optionsxprss, and after schwab merger it became this the ox was so much better, absolutely worst app and even website when it comes to active trading. I am sure other people have also lost money while trying to place and order and app just doesn't load. Guys who work there are probably actively trading and should know it. Trade with anyone else but not with them.
Great for option traders on the go. The charts leave a lot to be desired, but overall a life saver when getting in and out of trades away from your computer or laptop.
A very slow and dated app that still doesn't offer biometric sign in. The app requires a minimum of 30 seconds of loading time to switch screens. That is horrible for a trading app.
This is a functional app. However, needs improvements on android like fingerprint login badly, performance realized gain, and bug fixes
Capable of handling most of my trading needs. The interface UX design should really get a facelift. Currently looks like an app made 10 years ago and never updated ita design language.
Without fingerprint login this app is useless to me. I don't know my passwords. Copying complex passwords from a paper takes way too long. Was happy with iPhone version. Android build is useless until they add fingerprint pass
Clean feel. Iv'e used it daily for a couple years. Wish it had fingerprint access. I locked my password in my clipboard for easier access. I also wish it would get a dark mode.
Displays incorrect prices, average, P&L. It appears designed to confuse traders. The actual trades settle correctly but it often shows the wrong price and P&L. I'm surprised Schwab is willing to put it's name on this.
Sign-in experience is horrible. No biometrics, and it won't even remember your username after the latest update. Good app for futures trading though.
Terrible app. I lost money because there is a bug where if you attempt to sell your options via the offset option, and then select sell to close, it buys thems instead.
After putting in my account credentials it gives me a number to call. After giving further personal information over the phone i get to a customer service rep that tells me the app is only for options services traders. I feel as if this is a scam to steal my information. The app description if legit should say "Only for options traders" or whatever. An embarrassment for Schwab.
News feed on all stocks has not been available since 12/6/21. The app also at too many times in early trading does not work.
After I installed it on the phone, I couldn't log in to use because it asked me to call services clients. It is NoT convenient. Waste time to call.... I don't like this app at all.l!!!
This software is less functional and more temperamental. Hard earned money deserved a more functional and better service than Schwab can afford. A definite pass.
Needs improvement! sometimes it doesn't show the option chain and no indicators and cant pick a time frame in the intarday charts.
I contacted Schwab about not being able to log in and they told me the app is for futures traders only. Despite having the same name as the desktop app "streetsmart edge" which is for any account holder. Schwab should really make this more clear and/or make a version for all accounts.
As others have mentioned, this is not available to most customers. Perhaps in the About section mention that you must have portfolio margin or Futures enabled to even log in. Schwab is a very good broker in general, but for options and Futures Trading I am going elsewhere. The regular mobile app is painful to use and frankly the desktop version of street-smart looks like a 1990s application. Maybe the Thinkorswim acquisition will help but that is years off
First up, this app is for margin accounts. It's for traders more than investors. But if this is you, then you'll need to get approval to use this app. I also have the mobile app for thinkorswim, which - as with the desktop app, trading is WAY better on Schwab, and charting is WAY better on ThinkOrSwim. No in between. Biggest downside of StreetSmart - there is no landscape view. Frustrating.
