My go-to app for weight lifting that helps me keep a consistent regime. I like how easy it is to identify which plates to use, and the use of video to demonstrate correct form. The app makes it easy to get back into the swing of things if your routine changes for whatever reason. I also really like how responsive Mehdi is on the rare occasion there's an issue that needs fixing.
It's showing me barbell exercises even when I chose only dumbbell as equipment available. User interface needs to be better. Like when you create workouts and list exercises therein, add links to video of that exercise from that window itself. Also it'd have been great if it told which exercise targets what muscle group. More importantly, forms of some of the exercises shown in the videos is just not right! It can get you injured! Sorry, but can't rely on this app.
I'm just getting back into working out (well starting from scratch), after not being able to train for about a year after hernia repair surgery. But thank God that all is well and stronglifts is the perfect remedy for anyone if you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced. I highly recommend this APP!
I've been using it for a while but then paused gym work for a while. The app has been updated, and initially; I found it more difficult to navigate. I will play around with it and edit my comment once I've used it a few more times. If it runs the same as the last version, then I am very happy with it and I would recommend the app to anyone wanting to start strength 5x5 training.
Im currently using the free service of this app and let me tell you its amazing. Way better than the spreadsheet. Everything is streamlined and I can get straight to lifting. Transferring my data from the spreadsheet took me less than 5 minutes of changing some numbers around.
I like the new workouts that were added even though unfortunately it's locked behind a paid subscription. A wear os app would be perfect so I can log my workouts through my watch. Update** I noticed the IOS version of this app has more features when I used it on IPhone for a few days and an apple watch app is available so i don't know why an app for Android watches is not being considered.
This has given my workouts structure. I've never felt so strong overall, and while every workout day is a leg day, it has a purpose. When you start out, it will set the weight you're pushing low because you need to concentrate on form, and getting comfortable with the lifts. Just stay with it. One option I would like put in is to set a top limit for your lifts. I'm getting older, and I don't want to lift too heavy. I just want to keep my squat at 225, bench at 245 etc.
Replacing my review from 2019 since all of the features I requested were eventually added. It's a great app and all the bugs have been ironed out. My only issue with it is that it's not on Gear OS
Gave 5 stars 2 years ago and would give 6 now if I could with all the updates and improvements to the app. Well worth the yearly subscription fee as it comes out to less than 1 fancy Starbucks drink a month for motivating its users to accomplish steady strengths gains. Or you can be a cheapo and use the free version (which is still great). Highly recommend this app!!!
I love this app. I am new to getting fit and the progress I could see in the app was great. Also there are 5 different workout which was just incredible to make my body fitter and leaner. Within 6 weeks I could see and feel my leg strenght, my back fat diminished, my arms look great, no more wibble wobble byes. As said beginner in strenght training and started keto- lost an amazing amount and kept it off!
Really enjoying the simplicity of this programme. Weight calculations work well, I am 4 weeks into the programme and can noticeably feel stronger. I understand it is likely that I will hit a plateau at some point, and there is a lot of information in the app as well as the Internet about how to push through. Well recommended.
Strong Lifts is better than ever as an app, easier to use with more robust free features than before. Great for beginners, or even anyone up to intermediate getting back into lifting after a break. Terrific for working up your strength to intermediate quickly.
Always wanted to get my feet wet with lifting weights and Stronglifts struck me with the simplicity but also the wealth of information that the website provided. The app has been a great companion to my workouts over the last 10 weeks and I definitely think it has been well worth it. Mehdi is quick to respond to any questions you might have, and likely the answer you could find yourself on the website or even in app. For a beginner like myself, I would definitely recommend it.
Fantastic app. At first if I exited the app it would forget how many sets I completed in my workout (due to my cheap phone). But after mentioning that, Mehdi himself helped me resolve the problem as well as give me some tips for future workout regime. Unprecedented customer service. 5 stars
Usually a great app but the latest update has broken the plate counter. It will now present impractical loading configurations making transitioning weights a pain. Edit: working again and thank you as always for the fantastic customer service
Very happy with the app functionality and support when something needs fixing. Nice that we can modify things or add exercises too. A simple and great program for linear progression.
Love the program and the app makes it so easy to just get the work out done. Plate math and warm ups are all laid out for you. Just set up and lift. The one thing that I miss from older versions, is that the app was more clear about when it would deload for you. It would present the information upfront with clear copy, but now it just does it in the background. Very minor but I thought it was nice to know.
