StrRemote Free – for STR-DN1080, 70, 60 receivers
This application enables control of the basic functions* of the Sony STR-DN1080, STR-DN1070**, STR-DN1060, STR-DN860** AV Receivers via a WiFi network.
This app is handy if AVR's position is not convenient for use with the standard IR remote - for example if located in a different room or installed in a cabinet. Or you might just prefer using this app instead of the standard IR remote.
Important:
Your phone/tablet will need to be connected to the same network as the AVR.

Note for the EU model STR-DN1080:
The 'Power On' function requires "Network Standby" to be enabled in the AV Receiver's "Network Settings". This feature is not available on EU models.
The following functions are disabled in this Free version:
• 8 buttons on Main Controls screen.
• Zone 2 and HDMI Zone controls.
• Storing internet radio stream URLs.
• Renaming Video1 and Video2 buttons.
• Extra Controls: Calibration Presets.
• Network Standby and Remote Start settings.
• Showing app on lock screen.
• Hardware volume button controls.
* Functions differ depending on the model of your receiver.
** These models should work, but are currently untested. Please email if there are any functions that are not working for you.

Simple and seamless operation of my STR DN1080. Synced with it in two seconds, all basic functions working without a hiccup. Well done, great job. Would be good to see some of the interface spruced up a bit but purely for aesthetics. It's perfectly functional.
Thank you for this app. Works great, especially pro version. Adjusting AVR setup is easy and quick, up to your individual taste. Rear speakers a little louder?, EQ off?, switch between Blu Ray, games, sat, ... . Got it instantly. No more scrolling with remote control. It is just a must for all STR-DN1080 owners.
This is a great app, so interesting you can operate your receiver from anywhere in the house and it's surroundings once there is wifi. It will also be nice to be able to selection FM radio stations from your mobile phone. I therefore suggest you include that. Thanks!
Excellent app! I was looking for something to control my 1070 and this works very well. The app is simple, but more features are coming all the time. Thank you to the developer for all your work!
the developer seems surprised that this didnt work for me, am going to up rate my rating as the sony es app doesn't find my receiver either, going to have to fork out for a physical remote...
The Demo is worth checking out to test to see if the STR 1060/70/80 is worth your money. However, the Pro version costs less than a cup of coffee - and it is so worth it: 10 fold. No exaggeration.

The last update on 30th Dec is buggy with runtime error. But unstall and reinstalling solves for time being
