I initially gave this app one-star because it didn't seem to work without reading the "how to use" manual, but thankfully I gave the stud finder another try before deleting it. The graph button was the only thing I didn't try initially, so I gave it a whirl, scanned the wall slowly, and it worked! A repetitive beep alerted me to the stud, and prompted my immediate update to this review. I knocked off a star because the interface would be cleaner without the changing math calculation showing.
This is wonderful! I was trying to complete my work but couldn't find stud finder because no store open, I saw this app and I don't think it will help, but it did. I done my work with the help of this app. So impressed all you need to find magnetic sensor in your phone because it uses magnetic sensor to find the metal studs surrounding you. I am happy to find such a nice stud detector. Thanks 😊😘
All of the 5 star reviews that start with "stud finder scanner is-"; seem fake. Instructions are translated into English & they aren't easy to understand, not a huge issue, but it's just not made clear how one should position their phone in relation to the object they are "scanning". Also there are no units on the numbers displayed and no clear explanation of what their meaning is. Did not ask for permission to use any phone feature (ie camera), so, it does nothing? It's a scam to show you ads.
I was stuck without a stud detector, found this app, not expecting it to work. I can say it's probably about 70% accurate. If you know what you are looking for and approximate area. Perhaps if there was a way adjusting the sensitivity, it would work better. It's definitely not a fake app!
It worked no problem! It was easy to use and it worked right away, I am no carpenter and have no idea really what the heck I am doing but and after trying to anchor a bookshelf to a wall for an hour I realized I need to find a stud. I never leave reviews but I've had this installed for about five mins and it has helped me and saved me time so I figure I would take a minute to write a quick review. Thanks stud finder!
It works better than $20 stud finders at the hardware store. For best accuracy if make sure you figure out where exactly the sensor on your phone is located. Mine appears to be in the upper left-hand corner.
Does not detect a stud or a metal pipe. How is a consumer supposed to use this with ads showing up every 10 seconds? You have your phone in one hand and your tape measure in the other how do you close the stupid ad? You cannot even decide to purchase this because the ads make it impossible to use I gave it 20 minutes I wasted 19 minutes on this app.
Stud Finder is best app. Now I can see through walls plaster & metal detector in earth through stud finder app. This finder is great app is an detective tool which find studs and metals in any area around using magnetic sensor to find the hidden objects around me. If I have any doubt on metal or studs in the area, the strength of the magnetic field increases. I just open my smart phone into a metal stud detector making my phone detactor tool.
Tested on OnePlus 5T. When next to something which is attracted to magnets the gauge goes up to around 120 and I had it go up to 200 as well. But still a little hard to find a stud because the nails are small and the range of the sensor on the device was limited. But works.
It does engage the magnet sensor in my phone, but it doesn't work. I've held it over known nails (nail pops in the walls) and the readout barely changes. I only get an alert over things like a hinge.
Makes a loud "stud finder" beeping noise as it scans - but first forces you to click out of an ad, beeping the whole time. Simply uses the magnetometer, which is unreliable for locating studs, or any non-magnetized metal.
Not worth installing, don't waste your time for older home use. Go buy a real stud finder one that works. This will detect my metal desk really good, but did not detect anything in my walls. I calibrated my device and still nothing. Not even my outlets and switches.
Lots of ads. Displays the raw sensor data, but the data isn't useful (less of an issue with the app, more of a limitation of the hardware, but still useless).
NOT A FAKE REVIEW - ACTUALLY WORKS. Make sure you've got your sound on and the app will actually beep when it finds a stud. Some ads but hey, it's free and it is functional so I can't ask for anything more.
Works a lot better than expected. Thanks! Pro tip use a screw in your hand to pinpoint where the metal detector is in your phone. Some phones may have it at the top or bottom etc.

App displays magnetic field data, useless for finding studs--wood not being magnetic and all. It's trash, like pretty much all of these 5-star reviews. (Google, you really need to screen reviews better...)
Downloaded the app just like it said to do. Start scanning the wall and the door – app keeps popping up over the screen get rid of the other damn app. Never found a stud never made any noise if I did hit a stud.

Didn't work for me. Can detect metal which is what a stud finder does but seems not sensitive enough to detect nails in the wall. Could be a hardware limitation.
App says it's scanning but never seems to find anything unless I run over one foot square steel plate. Running Android 10, do have a magnetometer, don't understand what calibration is, should have more instructions online.

This is not a reliable app. Most of the times it identifies wrongly and not so user friendly. Most importantly this app messed up my android auto system. After removing this app, everything works fine. Not sure what was going on.

Would have been a nice app if not for the ads every time I clicked an option. Couldn't find any studs with it though and got tired of the ads.
English instructions unintelligible. User interface not intuitive. Ads are hard to skip. Many ads have payloads attached. App of no value to me.
It works but... I've used a galaxy Note 9 and, on the plasterboard wall I can't find the studs but, I've touched a bare metal and is changing the numbers and starts beeping. I've also tried in a wall where I know the position of the studs and, is more like a hit and miss, sometime was working. As a concept is working but, is not as useful if doesn't discover the studs inside the wall 🤷♂️.
