Studyfresh

Homework can be a chore. We make it an experience.
The aim of the app is to provide some guidance and tools for enhancing study experiences and work tasks. Studyfresh takes a holistic approach which combines mindfulness, neuroscience, urban meditation and yoga to enhance your study skills. If you study and do homework everyday then use it everyday! Now with push notifications to keep the freshness in mind.

One of the main aims of learning and studying is to build long-term memories so you can retain the knowledge for use at a later date. One key way the brain does this is to pause from the activity of study and relax, allowing time for what you have ingested to incubate. You can further strengthen your memory by revising the information again after your attention break.

You know that studying can be a stressful experience and intrusive thoughts and feelings can lead to discomfort, depression and anxiety. Studies have shown that mindfulness increases activation of the left pre-frontal cortex and lifts your mood. It also decreases activation of the Amygdala which is the part of your brain which deals with fear and stress. The feel good neurotransmitters dopamine, endorphins and serotonin are all released when you smile and engage in yoga.

Enhance your mind, body and environment with 5 minute guided Studyfresh attention breaks.

They have 4 functions:

1. to refresh you, 2. to refocus you, 3. to de-stress you, 4. to re-energise you.

The Studyfresh program takes a fresh approach to everyday study stress, anxiety and worry. The study aid app contains short guided mindfulness meditations which can assist with your well-being. It also contains a series short of audio and video bites which explain the various aspects of the Studyfresh program as well as study tips and complimentary resources.

There are detailed instructions and rational for using the short guided meditation exercises and yoga poses during short 5 minute breaks throughout your study/work which can work as a compliment to the Pomodoro Technique®.

Please do provide some feedback so I can improve this app for you and I welcome you to get in touch with your ideas or questions.
