this is the best app I've found, really great. it's fast and lightweight, and has a very nice look and feel. Plus when an assignment is accepted the app automatically enters the assignment on your calendar, so you get reminders automatically. the app also offers to phone the school (to inquire about duties, perhaps) and to give you directions to the school using Google maps. All this for less than the price of much less useful apps.
Makes it way easier to book jobs than dealing with the phone calls. I rarely, if ever, have had an issue with the app. It has always booked what I wanted. If my wifi/cell service is even on low bars it will still work. The only thing you can't do is drop jobs in it, you have to log in to Frontline on a browser to drop jobs.
So I've used this app for 3 years, going into my 4th. Been a great app. But this year suddenly all my notification are delayed or fail to pop up until I move my phone. I've changed nothing on my phone since last year. No new optimizing apps or changes to setting that I can tell. I use a Galacy S7. It makes it almost worthless to have the app. If someone could offer some guidance that'd be great, otherwise I'll have to try a competitor.
These guys do a great job with the user-friendly & easy to use app. When there was an issue, not only did they send a personalized email to all of its users, they were super nice about it. (Not their fault guys, it was Frontline/aesop). Amazing customer service! The only thing I wish is that you could cancel a job through the app itself but that's a Frontline issue. But they did say they would try to work on seeing if they could implement it one day so I still feel heard. It's cheap too. Worth!
The app itself is no nonsense, but the service it offers is invaluable for the substitute who wants to take jobs only at a specific district or building or sub only for a specific age rabge or subject. The alerts give you first pick of any absences posted, meaning you aren't going to miss that one perfect assignment. The interface is simple but functional. The only issues I've ever had were in area where I had less than stellar service, but that's to be expected. More than worth the subscription
This app really did free me up. Before the app I had my tablet open and on the table for every meal refreshing endlessly to find new assignments. Absolutely love everything about the app - the look, the quick alert that allowed me to see assignments real time, and the ease in booking jobs! It made the difference in how much I enjoyed substitute teaching.
I have used Jobulater, SubAssist, and SubAlert. By far, SubAlert is the best option. It is more advanced, allows me to automatically sync jobs to my google calendar. i can see at a glimpse the school. teacher. date, and time with the push of a button. I also get timely tech support. The reception is pretty good in most areas as well.
I have been thrilled with SubAlert! Compared to the competition, SubAlert is very much worth the monthly payment. During the 7 months I used the app, I never missed a day of school/work. Also, the quality (first preferences) of positions were much better the the competitors. Finally, the app help/customer service was fantastic! Matt was both prompt and considerate. GREAT APP!! :~)
I was loving the app at first, it was really fast! But now over the few months that I've had Sub alert it has become slower. Some jobs be on the portal but they don't come through until a minute later, where at first it would show up as soon as it popped up on KES. Dont know if I'll be keeping it, maybe if they fix the problem.
This app worked great for me. However, lately it keeps giving me a message that the frontline server won't connect due to overload issues. I went directly to frontline, no issues. I'm not sure what to think, but I might be missing out on jobs unless I constantly check frontline myself. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly.
They say the system checks for jobs every 1 minute, but I've gotten notifications 8 minutes after the job was posted. I've also gotten notifications from the app AFTER I already booked the job online. The app worked great for the first month, but now it's a waste. Luckily the schools and teachers contact me directly, so I'm still getting jobs--just not through this app.
Good app. No serious issues. I've been using it for awhile and although occasionally there are small glitches, or things I would change, I am content with this app. They were very prompt and efficient in refunding and responding to my email. I had to stop working due to the covid-19.
This is a fairly decent and helpful program. While I have had a few issues in the past with delayed alerts, this app has usually been the better choice when compared with competitors. Jobs can come and go really quickly depending on the district, and SubAlert is usually the most current AND the most responsive when trying to book jobs.
This app works well, but has 1 problem. One cannot CANCEL an assignment. So now, since I accepted a job too hurriedly. I must now go to my PC to cancel on the Frontline software, not available for my region in a mobile app. Now, THREE YEARS LATER, this otherwise excellent app STILL has the same problem. Today I inadvertently signed up for a day I was unable to teach. And so I had to contact ESS because the app doesn't allow job cancelations.
This app had been very helpful allowing me to pick up more jobs as soon as they become available. But in the last 48 hours I've missed out on several jobs because I'm receiving a message claiming the frontline server is overloaded. I have had to continually check Frontline directly which is defeating the purpose of this app. I did receive a response from subalert's web team, but it's still not working. I will give this app another 24 hours to fix it before I uninstall and go with another app.
It's a useful app, but I'd prefer it be free with ads or have a one time purchase fee. Half of the time I open it up it says it has connection problems or the service isn't available and to check back later. The UI could also be improved upon a bit more. However, this is the only option really for Subs, so i take what i can get.
This app is easy to set up and use. I particularly like that I can set a different notification sound so I can tell when a job has been posted. It also posts quickly, which is important when there are other subs competing for the same jobs.
This app is very easy to use. It is way easier to accept sub jobs than constantly checking the frontline website. It also has a nice way to view your scheduled jobs that shows them in order by date and makes is easy to see the notes. Customer service was also very nice and responded to my email in less than 24 hours.
While the app is the only one that works with AESOP that shows your scheduled jobs, I can't schedule anything! I click on "book" and it always says that the job is already booked even though, when I open the same listing on Sub Assistant I am able to claim it! It might be the cheaper option but I would recommend spending the few extra bucks so you can actually book a job!
OUHSD: only if you want work and don't care what kind of class it is. Jobs are taken instantly, if you don't book it that second you get the notification it's gone. I don't want certain classes such as French or programming, but every time I go to look up that teacher the job is gone. Not the devs fault, but just so you know if you work in this district. I ended up getting more jobs on aesop. I don't like the black background with chalkboard white text font. It's hard to read.
S is for Slick this app is so easy to use and worth more than $5 a month for snagging prime sub jobs. I considered switching to the frontline app at the recommendation of a sub friend and to save five bucks a month. After reading those reviews I will stick with what works. Not once have I been annoyed or frustrated by it. No ads at all. Super fast loading times confirming sub jobs. Only thing that's missing is the ability to cancel jobs through subalert but that's no big deal.
Started off great but then just kept displaying "connection error" message. I would still get text messages, but I couldn't accept jobs through the link that the text provided because of the "connection issues". It is helpful to know when jobs become available regardless so overall I really like this app.
This app is SO MUCH BETTER than Jobulator or Frontline! Jobs literally pop up faster here than on Frontlines own app. No connection problems like with Jobulator when your phone switches from WiFi to data. None of the dreaded "unable to connect" messages when available job pops up like on Jobulator. So happy with this app, and such a reasonable price!
It's almost impossible to actually get an assignment. They disappear with the same speed they show up. I thought after the trial period it'd change, but no, it didn't. Am glad I only paid for one month as my own, personal trial period. I've changed my strategy. It's a waste of time and money.
I used to get my alerts regularly, but the past 5-6 weeks I do not get most of the alerts. It's not very convenient to have to keep checking and I miss jobs. I've tried clearing out all of the app data, but that didn't work. The alerts are very sporadic.
Works really great with Frontline/Aesop and has helped me land jobs quickly. Loved that it adds the sub job to my Google calendar and opens up my Google maps when clicking the job in the morning so there's less of a panic finding where I'm going. The developers are always super responsive and helpful whenever I had an issue.
very good app for subs Update: As of today, I am VERY upset with this app. I checked my schedule earlier in the day, and got a message saying that that my subscription was no longer active because my card had been declined, and I needed to renew my subscription. I immediately checked my bank account and sure enough, there is money in there. I have emailed the support team several times, and they won't reply to me. Very upset right now since I am no longer getting job notices.
i could not be happier with this app. I have used it for the past year and a half and have only missed days when I could not work . . . this app kept me in jobs. The few performance issues I encountered were dealt with in a prompt, professional way by people who were genuinely interested in working out my issues. i recommend this app WHOLE HEARTEDLY ! ! !
Glad I found this! When out and about in my day, I dont have to keep remembering to log into the main system. The alerts are customizable so I can differentiate this from other alerts. It posts immediately after a job shows up on Frontline (I know because I once had to cancel an assignment, and 3 seconds later got an alert that it was available). You do have to be quick, however. I can respond to alerts within seconds and it's already gone (especially at the beginning of the year.)
