Sudoku+

Excellent game. For me it would be great to have options to turn off the end display where it shows time and points. It would be more like doing the puzzle with paper and pencil.

I play this sudoku app all the time and I love it! the only suggestion I would make is to somehow be able to undo a "fat finger" mistake so I don't lose points for it. although I don't know how best to go about that. maybe don't deduct points if you correct it in 2 seconds? either way, I'll still play it and I still love it 🙂

This game helps me build skills & knowledge beyond what I thought possible for me. It's also often the antidote to my brain being stuck, playing a game helps me find my way again.

Worth 5/5 stars, BUT... Definitely worth the few dollars they charge for the [+] version, but the paid version CONSTANTLY nags me for a review, so minus one star!! Great list of options and the help feature ACTUALLY TEACHES YOU how to move forward when you're "stuck" while playing a difficult level. The one feature I would like to see is the addition of a clock (the actual time, not game play timer) up in a corner so I know when to go back to work.

Downloaded the free version first, and it turned out to be the best Sudoku game I'd ever tried. Although the ads weren't too frequent or too long, I decided to get the paid version to get rid of them. Now I have a wonderful, addictive game which has all of the bells and whistles I could ever hope for! This is a great game, not just for playing Sudoku, but also for learning all the Sodoku tips and tricks, since the hints TEACH you the how and why of completing even the toughest puzzles!

A very good implementation of sudoku. I've had the free version for years, but recently the ads in it have become too obtrusive so I sprung for the paid version. What would be cool would be a "do it yourself" mode, which allows you to copy an existing puzzle from e.g. a newspaper and then solve it with the aids provided by the program. Obviously, it could not tell you whether your partial answer was correct (the program can't know the answer), bit it could tell you if the data are inconsistent.

This is the best Sudoku app that I've personally used. The interface is clean and simple; the UI is thoughtfully developed (definitely give the floating keys setting a try); and the puzzles themselves seem to accurately correspond to the difficulty that is selected. The hint system is also fantastic, at it actually explains what it's doing. I can't really think of anything negative to say. Thanks for a great app!

As a beta participant there are always improvements to make. Overall excellent. The help is superb, hints and so forth. One thing I would like to see is, on my phone I sometimes hit the wrong number accidentally (big fingers) and get penalized. If you could "take it back" say within 5 seconds, it could help. I play the "Hard" level and am challenged. Make it hard but not impossible.

Black letters on a white background are plenty full of contrast, but when I play with the lights off (which I'm not going to stop doing), I want to see white (or even just light) letters on a pitch black background. Your red and blue wood patterns are actually very bright. I wouldn't have learned about sudoku techniques if it hasn't been for Brainium. I actually love this app, but I hate the themes.

I will try to explain this. I play over and over again so I got no ads and I like it. However, as I play the same level the games have less breaks & are more difficult. If I play Breezy I seem to have used up the easy game choices. Same for Easy. Some games are easier to play but I don't get them anymore. I am not ready for Hard and not having a variety of puzzles to play in the respective levels is getting boring if I am making sense to you. One critique would be more harmonious theme colors.

This review is based solely on the expert level. I love to play sudoku at expert level, but didn't really care for it on this app. It is not like traditional expert levels where you can solve 1/3 to 1/2 of the puzzle using intermediate strategies, then you need expert/ advanced techniques to solve the puzzle. This app heavily relies on 2 strategies. The finned swordfish and linking. I have only seen two other strategies used, which were the finned x-wing and trial-and-error (if you even consider that a strategy). I do like the layout, the hint options, and the statistics though. But if you're looking to mainly play on the expert level and have played on the expert level before, I do not suggest this app.

When selecting a number the YELLOW HIGHLIGHT of cells containing that number is different to see aginst a white or gray background. It needs to be a color that stands out more making it easier to see. I also find the white motion flash when a row, column, square, or number is completed to be very anoyiny. It needs an option to turn it off. The pencil mark also need to be easier to see.

I love this game, it's great for times when you just need to fill some space or decompress. The only problem I ran into is that when I switched over from iPhone to Android, I lost all of my progress. Other games often offer a log in feature where you can connect via Facebook and keep your data safe. If it had that, it would be perfect! Regardless, it's the best Sudoku app I have found.

Could be 5 stars but just misses. The game design is the best I've seen in a Sudoku and I like the scoring system. Easy to use the pencil marks and nice painter and highlight at all the right times. Why only 4? NO CLOUD BACKUP. With new devices and occasional need for reset an existing one, losing your game progress is not really a fun thing to have happen. Google offers options to developers to cloud save data. They just need to use it.

Great game, and the way the hints actually teach techniques is brilliant. The only thing I don't like is why Resume is an option when the game has actually finished. Every time I open the open I click resume in case I have a part finished game, just to find that I don't. It's a little annoying.

So far Sudoku+ feels like a very clean, professionally built, easy to use, and straightforward Sudoku game to me. No ads, quick to get back into a game, a good variety of levels of difficulty (I usually stick to Breezy & Easy), font sizes/colors can be customized to help with visibility. I don't know how it compares to other apps, but based on what I'm seeing so far it's totally worth the $2 to me.

It is a very good app, especially the hints which really help teach you how to be a better player. It would be nice if the smaller numbers had greater contrast for better visibility. Also the display wants to turn off after (15?) seconds. (Perhaps there is a setting that I need to change?) I have other apps that keep the display active (as wanted), but not this one.

Wish they could simply / reduce the animations a bit to help preserve battery life, but overall this is an amazing Sudoku app that provides the best experience for visual learners (like me) who have yet to master the game. Becomes a breeze since the game will automatically remove notes that are no longer applicable but is still a ton of fun. Please implement a simple visual mode for people who want to play extensively off one charge like me :)

Everything I ever wanted in a Sudoku game. Play at the level that suits you, no assistance or auto-filling notes. For the hard/expert puzzles, the hint button is a great way to learn new strategies in the context where they are needed. Finger painting mode takes the frustration out of tapping on a screen. On the downside, the top of the leaderboards is dominated by people who just guess, as there is no penalty for making mistakes. And the sounds are a bit annoying. I turned them off.

As a novice you can start at the easier level to build confidence when playing the game, once you have the hang of it you can progress by increments to a harder level. It is helpful that on highlighting a number you can plan your moves. Once proficient in the game and depending on how much time you have or whether your brain is awake or not you can choose a level of difficulty to suit your mood. Very instructive and enjoyable to play.

Love this app! The ads are few and far between. I understand the makers of any game want to make money one way or another but sometimes the number of ads on other sudoku sites/apps are insane. Thank you for a great game with a reasonable number of ads. I will keep playing this one over other sudoku apps for sure!

Great set up. Many, many hands per level (I've played over 2000 in the Hard level, 5 levels. Pick an appropriate level, and start building your Sudoku skills. Hints, give, either a nudge in the right direction, or can walk you through multiple steps, adding to your skill set.

I've played the free version of this app and I liked the colors better. The color scheme on the pay version makes it hard to distinguish between rows and columns sometimes.

I had the free version, until I got sick of the ads. It seems like the paid version's expert levels haven't been updated like the free version. These are the old puzzles where you won't find 3 of the same numbers on any column of nine. Hopefully they update the puzzles to match the free version. Will give 5 stars once they do. Update: it's been over three months and they haven't updated the app. Do not waste your money. The free version has better puzzles.

When you put a number in a square, the game will currently highlight all of that number on the whole puzzle. This is way too helpful and would not be present on a paper puzzle. Need the ability to turn that off. Additionally the game will not allow you to enter wrong certain incorrect numbers by ghosting those options. I don't want the game to play itself for me. Refunded. Sorry guys.

Nicely polished, good range of difficulty levels, good music and the tips are excellent. Only slight bug is, when I launch the app and click "continue" it repeats the point count-up animation from the previous game before letting me start a new one.
